Been a long time since I've been on here. It really disappoints me what has happened to the Captial football program. No back from administration has crippled that program. They had such a great thing going for about 8 years...starting in '01. Hopefully they can get things back on track. It's starts with recruiting and they need to get as many kids as they can. I know for a fact that they have a very talented freshman running back this year in Griffin Mouty, but he has to prove he can play at that level. Reminds me of a Pugh/Kmic type of player. Come on CAP, time to step up!

ELee,
I heard from a very reliable source that it is going to be Henry Standford who was Cap's OC last year.

I also heard that Travis Everhardt who is a former alum applied and never heard anything. That's a shame on the school if so. Even if you don't want to hire the guy, at least give him the common courtesy to say you're not interested.
From the candidates that I see so far, I would have to go with Henry Stanford. He is already in the program. He knows how the school operates....which may not be a good thing from what I hear, and he had an extremely good offense this year. Having a different offense with Assman coming back would not be good. I know for a fact that Stanford and Coach White have been recruiting kids still for the school. These kids just want to win and it's a shame the administration won't give them the tools to do so. Eventually they will realize that women's basketball and the conservatory of music isn't the money maker. I won't even open up the mail they give me until they start making some changes up there.

I think the sad part about the playoff picture is that the #2 OAC team always has to go through Mt. Union to get to the Championship besides the year CAP played UWW in the first round. Put the #2 or hopefully (#3 this year) team from the OAC in another part of the bracket and lets see who comes out with more wins. The OAC is hands down the strongest league in the country. CAP lost 2 games within the final 3 minutes this year. If they win out, I think they deserve to be in. It would be great for the playoffs and possibly great for a National Championship game.

Cap just got a personal foul for the sideline not being behind the line. Where is the get back coach?

haha... it should be. All I can say -- I'm just happy that I won't be seeing her again.
I didn't mean CJ is weak... I was saying the GCL Central (with Roger Bacon, Badin, Purcell Marion, and McNicholas) is pretty much garbage these days.
SaintsFan,
Not so fast my friend.

Rocky was an assistant coach this past season at Cap.
I wonder if Matt Collins is still in the area?

Congrats Coach Collins.....we'll be visiting you up in Flynt! Well deserved and definitely a step in the right direction.
I sure hope the jealousy of other coaches not associated with football didn't influence the decision. You deserved all of the accolades you were awarded and did nothing but great things for the program.
I hope they hire Coach Bickel.....keep the coaching staff in tact and just hire an offensive coordinator that can try to fill the shoes of JimCo. Let's keep this train on the tracks and make the right decision.
