Here's to a great Linfield squad - class of the Northwest Conference for longer than any of us non-Cats care to remember.

Congrats Cats on a 50th consecutive winning season, and especially to all the former Cat players on this board.  It's gotta' feel good to be part of history like that.

Way to go Lutes.  Finally a breakthrough!  Keep that momentum rolling now.

Wi and 11,

Thanks for the kind thoughts.  We got out safely, had a place to go, and a means to get there.  In the end that's all that really mattered.  Things are a little tougher on my wife, who was 35 weeks pregnant with our first child when we evacuated from New Orleans.  Baby is due Friday, so we are very excited.

She is originally from Yakima, so that's where we are currently.  Very difficult to be so close to NWC football and not be able to catch a game live.  You should have seen the look she gave me when I suggested I might take a trip to Puyallup for yesterday's game.  She then gave me an earful that included the word "contraction" and ended with the word "divorce".  Obviously I didn't go.

Back2Back,

I think you hit the nail on the head in a lot of categories.  Today's high school athletes are a lot more conditioned to look at things like facilities when deciding on a program.  I don't know if Scott has changed the traditional PLU approach to recruiting (no home visits, rely on family & friends, etc) but as has been mentioned on this board before it might be time to revisit the philosophy.  I don't think anyone associated with the program in any capacity (former players, alumni, fans, etc) is advocating a fundamental change in the way PLU football does business, and I believe the overall aim of the program should remain the same - to develop outstanding young men who succeed in the game of life (More Than Champions).  But clearly the landscape in the NWC is changing and it begs for a response from PLU.

I'm not down because of an 0-4 start.  I'm not down because of the way PLU has lost some of those games.  Having lost almost everything I own to a hurricane and flood makes pouting over seven turnovers a ridiculous waste of time.  But I am a lot more sensitive now than I ever was before to process, and the way things are built.  PLU football has a solid foundation, and one of the principal architects of that program is the man currently in charge.  The challenge now is to pay attention to the cracks in the foundation and address them sooner rather than later.  The infamous 17th Street Canal ran through my backyard - an ode to engineering triumphing over nature.  Now it's the poster child for any project that is left to fend for itself without the necessary resources dedicated to keeping it strong.

Time for PLU to really take a look at the strong foundation that is its football program and make sure recent results are simply the bad bounce of the ball, and not a lack of resources and attention that can rot a foundation to its core.

Way too heavy for a Sunday afternoon.  I apologize.

Well done Loggers.  This one's been a long time coming - it must feel good.

Seven turnovers?  Seven?  PLU did not play its best self today.  Flush it Lutes, and come back strong next week.

Got the LuteCast back.

Sounds like Loggers are moving the ball on the ground effectively.  Option game working well for them.

Still 13-9 PLU

Nooooooooooooo

LuteCast goes down.  My one and only chance to hear a game this season and the signal from the stadium gets interrupted.

Story of the season, from what I've read.

Lutes moving the ball again into UPS territory and turn it over.  Loggers recover fumble after a big gain by PLU rusher.

Come on Big D!

Loggers run ball to the PLU 5, then go backwards on 3rd down.

D forces field goal.

PLU 6-3
