Puppy Power beats the Bishops 2 years in a row???!!!!
Hiram..a program that couldn't find it's way out of the cellar
of the old PAC...and the NCAC...now has OWU's goat.
Red n Black head into the meat-grinder of the Indiana Tigers and the LG's..

Makes me wonder what the tone of this post would have been were it a Coach Hollway team that lost to Hiram two years in a row . . . (or 3 straight to Denison).

Hiram with a big 4th quarter comeback to beat OWU today, 32-31.

Anyone see any of this game?

Corey Stump for Witt.  Remember that name Lil' Giants, and put your best DB on him while you're at it.

Witt - 28
OWU - 14

3:19 left 3rd Q.

Witt marches down the field on the opening drive of the 2nd half for a TD.

Witt - 21
OWU - 14

11:34 3rd Q.

OWU picks it off in the end zone late in the 2nd quarter.  Witt had a solid drive going and took it all the way to the 8-yard line.

This is going to be the first time I'll be watching the 2nd half of OWU-Witt in, well, practically forever.

Just tuned in to OWU-Witt.  14-14 in the 2nd.

Holy Homer Network.  Gonna have to watch this on mute.

OWU is hanging in pretty well with UMHB so far.  7-3 Cru in the 2nd.

OWU did play well early but couldn't hang long term. UMHB definitely has some holes to fill. OWU showed that.

The DE for Ya'll is legit. Good player.

QB needed some help on the OLine.

Good luck on the rest of the season. Win out!
Thanks
Two weeks to getvready for yea olde skull.

Thoughts on the game? Were you there?

Saw the first half on the live stream and don't really have much to offer.  UMHB offense seemed to start in their own territory most of the time.  Kind of the same old story from OWU when they play a team with more talent:  defense does a good job of playing "bend don't break" for a half but UMHB just pulled away in the end.  Really no momentum for the OWU offense at all, majority of possessions were 3 and out.  Receivers got past the UMHB a few times on some long routes but were overthrown, looked like there was some confusion among the UMHB d-backs.  OWU O-line was way undersized compared to UMHB D-line; OWU D-line had a couple beasts and some guys with speed and length in the secondary, which is generally their Achilles heel.

Sorry for the bland review, but it was a fairly bland half of football from my perspective.  Thanks for stopping by the NCAC board and hopefully we can keep it within 7 TDs next year when we visit your house.  All the best this season.

My thoughts are that NCAC teams are light years away from the Stagg Bowl.  To see Mt. Union and Whitewater tonight and know how many times they have each gotten there in recent years is mind boggling!
Overall talent is tough to beat.

Respectfully disagree.  Witt and Bash are right there as far as overall talent.  If - and it's a big if - one of these teams were to put together the perfect game or near-perfect game against UWW or Mount I think they could pull out a win.  That's the next big step for our conference but I can see it in the 3-5 year range.

Okay since some of us are Debbie Downers.... guaranteeing no injury throughout the course of the season other than the usual soreness and fatigue (which i miss) what would you pay?

I would pay giant sums of money to re-play certain downs. I would pay zero dollars to play again.

Actually, this night be my favorite answer yet. Replaying a game or two from the past, I'd be happy to go back and do. But not the entire process of a season all over again. Just teleport me together day in my 17-21 year old body.  Maybe just keep me there, actually.

I think I want to revise my answer after seeing these posts.  Laying awake in a pool of sweat with 4 fans blowing on me on the 3rd floor of my brick dorm, counting down the minutes to the 7:00 a.m. film session before another day of 3-a-days started in the Ohio August heat is something I'm not sure I would do over.

What monetary value would you guys offer for another season of eligibility?

Oh, I like this one.

$50K.  Max out credit cards, borrow money from parents/friends, partially cash out my IRA and alienate my wife (even more than I already have) but I'd do it without even thinking twice.  Then I'd get back to OWU, bench press 225 once and run a 4.87 40, and have the players stare at my receding hair line as I explained this wild scheme called the Wing-T that was our bread and butter back in the day.

But would still do it for $50K without blinking.

FTW.

Loved his Subway Commercials :)

I need to go through another set of Subway commercials. Just 45 pounds to go to get back to that 2010-era photo.

Bro, you still have a single chin so I wouldn't sweat it.  Gravity and my late 30s have been very, very cruel to me.

Quick question--is this the farthest Wabash has gotten in the playoffs? Can't remember if they have ever gotten to the next round.

Nope.  In the AQ era Wabash has been to the quarterfinals in 2002, 2007, and 2011.  Back in the day, Wabash was the national runner up in 1977.

So of all the current NCAC teams, only Witt has won a national championship?

Allegheny won in 1990.  That is the most recent one for the NCAC.

If only we could go back in time....

Paul Bell isn't walking through that door.  Nick Reiser isn't walking through that door.
