Knowing Coach Monty somewhat...he'd trade a dozen COTY's, a set of candlesticks, three live chickens, and maybe a few years off his life for a win...

I too was in Lexington this weekend...and what a great crowd and atmosphere...The E&H faithful turned out very well to support their team...and the W&L girls looked very nice indeed decked out for parents weekend...
One of the funniest things I heard all day...was an Emory kid in an old sweatshirt and jeans yell down to a group of decked out, upper eschelon debutants..."Hey...I dont have much money...but I'm a hard worker...and I'd treat you right." Classic...I love my roots!
Emory didnt play as well as they could have...but I take nothing away from the Gennies...Their defense played very well...and bottled up our runners...and Woods made mistakes he hasn't made all year...but there again...the Gennies had a lot to do with that.
Good luck to them in the playoffs...
To BC and the other ODAC teams...I still think we are headed in the right direction...and the next recruiting season and off-season work-outs will show how far the Wasps have come in two short years...
Unbelievable point of the week....W&L only has 4 players from VA on their entire roster...that's a pretty awesome school rep...and getting on the road recruiting right there...
Good luck to the also rans in our final week of play...and good luck to the Generals wherever they may end up.

If i'm not mistaken...the player in question left school in October...but was indeed flunking his courses at the time...so he was not in good academic standing at the time.
The Wasps have a pretty decent crowd that is making the trip up this weekend to Lexington...The weather folks are calling for 50 and sunny...perfect...and the beer will be flowing like wine I'm sure...
We're very happy to be in the situation we are in right now...and happy to even have our guys even be argued about for post-season awards...but traditions arent built on awards...they're built on victories...and those victories are built on hard work...and hardnose play...and nobody works harder...and is more hardnose than Coach Monty...he kind of makes me nervous when we talk...like he wants to fight somebody...and I love it... the kids have really bought in to what he's selling...
W&L should also be commended on their resurgence...I can remember them being called cake-eaters by an old coach of ours...not really sure what that meant...but it sounded like it summed them up perfectly at the time...but they have definitely made the commitment to FB the same way they have to other sports like Lax and Soccer...so...good for them...
Good luck to all this weekend....and we'll be in the parking lot by the law school for the E&H fans...and for anyone else who wants to wander by for a BBQ samich!

The Emory folks were indeed a little rough in the past...but 5 straight years of sucking hind teat will leave you a little bit humbled...we'll quickly regain the form of the days of old...give Monty another year with his strength and conditioning system in place...and his hard-hitting, no-nonsense recruiting approach...and we'll be doing just fine....
I can speak for the majority of the alumni...we're more than pleased to have the coaches we have...and believe me when I say this...it hurts a lot worse losing when you're not used to it...and not to say we wont still take some lumps...still a long way to go this season...but at least we've been in every game...and we've kept fighting until the end...
So good luck to the rest of the ODACers...except when we play you...and you'll see more old names popping up from time to time from this end of the Commonwealth.
