Central College (D-III – IA): Central College is looking for an offensive coordinator. Must be able to serve as assistant coordinator for football summer camp activities, assist in fundraising, serve as event manager. Bachelor's required, Master's preferred. Prefer four years of coaching experience with knowledge of pass game strategies and experience working with quarterbacks. Send resume, cover letter, and references to coach McMartin at mcmartinj@central.edu.

Where were all the whitewater fans Saturday? I was looking at your attendance figures before the game and was ready to get blown out by the sound and was very surprised to see less than 1800 people there.
A few years back I was at a playoff game at SP and I'm pretty sure Wartburg fans outnumbered pointers that day. Granted that was the opener for shotgun season and as a country boy I understand how that works.

JGav will be with me so if you need any input on shooting highlights we will be in prime "suggestion offering" shape

Knock Knock. Anyone around? Hope to see a lot of Knights up north this weekend.

WH, just look for the chubby former olineman with the camera on his shoulder.  While I have shot sideline football highlights from SE MN high schools to Packer games and everything in between, this will be the first time shooting Wartburg Football highlights.  Luckily the temps will be MUCH warmer this weekend then end of December night games at Lambeau field.

GO KNIGHTS!

Rumor has it there is a Friday night gathering at Ramada in Janesville. Not sure about Saturday but I'm guessing it won't be hard to spot the orange. I was on the WIAC board and they said you don't have to conceal your beverages in the parking lot. Sounds like its one central location.

Heading up from central Iowa Saturday morning it looks like. What is the tailgating scene like up there and are we free to partake of adult beverages in the open?

My old man will be along so that probably means there will be two of us to help out

Is there a hotel where Wartburg fans will be congregating Friday night for sodas and water? Planning a roadtrip with some '03 alums and might even bring some Simpson guys with us so we can all feel good about ourselves.

Lot of future IIAC (Hopefully Wartburg) talent will be on fields around the state tonight in the second round of the playoffs. If the rain gets through early it will be an awesome November night.

Wartburg will never overlook Central that I can guarantee. In fact Willis's preseason vote went to the Dutch if for no other reason than respect for the tradition and staff they have there.
Truthfully I wish Luther was a little better just so the rivalry could get hyped up a little more. Anyone associated with the rivalry knows there has been some awesome games, regardless of record (1999 comes to mind when undefeated Wartburg team had to make a late game stand to preserve win) but the pregame hype with Luther's struggles has really waned.

Not too surprised by much here in the early going other than BV just flat out sucks. I talked to a couple coaches this offseason that thought they might be a darkhorse this year with some good talent returning. Were they full of **** or is BV just a huge disappointment so far?
Following Loras closer with JO there now and while they are improved its going to be a while until they are back to their traditional 4-6, 5-5, 6-4 selves.
Wartburg O has looked a lot better than I expected early. Willis always has a tough D.
Central with some young talent that will take some lumps this year but should bode well for the future.
Honestly forgot Luther played football...

I was thinking about going as well but my son is running in the Living History Farms 7 mile cross country race Saturday.  From Offensive lineman to distance runner, it goes with out saying he is much leaner than his playing days just a few years ago.

Will be following the Knights on-line.  :D

I did the same thing after my playing career, ran a few half marathons. Even finished in top 10 in a few 5 and 10ks. Alas that was a long time ago. Then the kids and coaching started up and I run when I can

Can someone tell me what has happened at Loras. I remember the days when it was automatic they would be 5-5, maybe a good year 6-4. Never great but you always had to prepare for them. Now I think we could ask Corso for plays on Saturday

Wartburg had at least one, maybe more, OL not playing due to illness. Against Central's aggressive 3-4, that is most certainly not the recipe for success. We went through the same thing with our HS team but elected to play the sick guy OL. It almost cost us.

Awesome day in Waverly tailgating and playing some pickup football in the fieldhouse with all our kids. Game sucked but the Knights came out on top. Defenses ruled the day and lots of special teams miscues on both sides. Was glad Willis went for the FG to ultimately win the game. Ball was on the turf a ton. I love the D3 atmosphere. Can hear everything. Tight knit with all the fans and everyone on field talking after game. That was a happy Knights crew. VBall team just won IIAC tourney title. Great Day to be a Knight
