QuoteGarnet, I would disagree with Stim on this one.  Holy Cross is a top 30-40 1-AA team the past 2 years and would win the national championship in d3 if they were in it.  And I dont know what RPIs facilities are going to look like, but Holy Crosses stadium is one of the better ones in 1-AA.

Yeah maybe a bit harsh with that assessment.  Their stadium is sweet.  Drive by it every Sat on the way to Troy.  They have come on lately re: record and standing but there was a long drought between those Gordie Lockbaum years and say the last 3 or 4 (2002 4-8, 2003 1-11, 2004 3-8)  They had a losing record from 2000 - 2005 when they went finally went 6-5 against mostly Patriot League opponents which is not exactly the same as playing James Madison, New Hampshire and UMass.

But as I said they have turned it around and probably should have beat UMass a few weeks ago.

Stim, you're a Haverhill guy?  Ohhhh man!!!!  I knew you had to be a fellow MVC'er.  I knew I liked you for some reason.

Rolevio is curious how LD knew Stim was a Haverhill guy from that post

I just saw this interesting article:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26563848

Ive never played online poker, but wouldnt it also be possible to get into a poker room with other people you know and share info on who has what cards and stuff?

Rolevio doesn't enjoy online poker and is thus not up to date on it's legal status, but isn't it still illegal in the US?

Quote from: JT on September 11, 2008, 11:52:28 AMAre the Yankees still playing?  Once they hit 10 back, JT stopped caring.  Thank god for football season.

Nothing like a loyal fan.

Kind of like all those "loyal" Sox fans that abandoned Fenway in the 8th inning of a 1-1 game last night.

Is this comming from a Tampa fan where games are still 50% sox fans and 50% empty seats?  Even when they are in first place?  10K empty seats for the yankee series and 20K (over 50%) empty for the redsox?

I was there last night (till the 10th), and there was 90% attendence till the 9th I would say Jose.....

I really dont think you can ever say anything about the loyalty of the redsox fans.

Celtics and even Patriots sure, but the sox fans are sick in the head.  Highest ticket prices in the country and they still sell out every single game.

Not that hard to sell out when you only have 39,000 seats 18,000 less than Yankee Stadium

Rolevio is wondering if Superman is really thinking 18,000 seats is a load of difference when Boston has a population of about 600,000 and New York has a population of 8 million or so.  Rolevio assumes the difference in metro areas is similiar.

you are correct miyh...kid is in 7th grade....

MIYH is glad he was correct.  Especially after 'gro googled it.  MIYH teaches 7th grade out here in Denver, but we're not doing anything remotely close to that.  My regular kids are doing basic linear graphs and honors is working with scale factor.  Pretty impressive if any of lilPBR's classmates actually got the answer.

That ish was tough.  And JT was good at Math through college.  W/o google JT wouldn't have come close.

Reading the question, Rolevio knew it had to be a multiple of 7 that ended in 1, but didn't want to bother figuring out more.

Rolevio,

Nah... its too easy.

Oh snap! a Sun Tzu inspired statement of implied victory. The ultimate message board argument smack down.

Rolevio, JT, only one thing can solve this... a dance off.

Rolevio will be brushing off his dance moves and looking for a silver sequined glove.

JT can come up with more.  But this campaign is everything Obama/Biden isn't.  JT just heard her speak.  She'll kick Biden's butt.  Bonus: she's a babe and can shoot guns.

JT is stoked.

Rolevio couldn't disagree more, especially after hearing her speak.  Rolevio is shocked McCain picked someone who appears to be a worse public speaker than he is.  She seemed swallowed up by that room.  She may have the charisma, but Rolevio doesn't think she has the presence to stack up against Biden or Obama in a debate forum.

PS:  In full disclosure, Rolevio supported Biden in the primaries and fundamentally disagrees with Palin on virtually every issue.  So what little chance McCain had of wooing Rolevio's vote was thrown out the window when he picked Palin over someone like Lieberman.

PPS: Rolevio is tired of hearing campaign rhetoric from spokesmen and strategists from both sides.

For completeness, Rol's draft picks:

1.   Clinton Portis:  Not all too happy with this pick, but he was the best RB available
2.    Terrell Owens: All the top RBs were gone and the top 2 QBs, so went with the best WR left.  Not too sure if I am happy with the pick yet.
3.    Wes Welker:  With points for receptions he should put up solid numbers.
4.    Willie Parker:  Good second option for RB, and a steal in the 4th round.
5.    Ben Roethlisberger:  Should be pretty consistent
6.    Tony Gonzalez: Despite his age, expect him to be above average still.
7.    Selvin Young:  Just needed a bye week replacement and he was the highest ranked available.
8.    Dwayne Bowe : Bye week replacement who had some good weeks last year
9.    Jacksonville:    A defense
10.    Jon Kitna:  Good second option for QB, may be better than Roethlisberger.
11.    Warrick Dunn:  With this pick and after I really just stopped caring.
12.    Nate Kaeding: Kicker on a good offense
13.    Devin Hester
14.    Reggie Brown
15.    Desmond Clark

Not all that happy, but could of been worse.

Ok a little advise from supe... a Bartender won't always be a bartender...

A little advice to supe....Old habits die hard

Reg hasn't EVER been a fan of bartenders, especially those that have taken up the profession with no hopes of betting themselves (insert 30yr old hottie w/ 8th grade vocabulary here)

This was Rolevio's initial thought as well.

How's the draft coming fellas

Rolevio's team would be great if it were 2 years ago, but now he's in for a rough season.

Rolevio is crawling out of his summer absence for tonight's draft which he is caught completely unprepared for.  This year's goal will simply be to not be in last place.
