I'll agree that initially it was a bit of a surprise to see that Wade Guerin didn't make First Team... But then I remembered that to add someone, you need to remove someone.  There is nobody on the First Team that I would remove to make room for Guerin.

This is no disrespect to Coach Miller (who I like very much as a coach and a person) but I still think the COY pick was wrong.  No matter how much Whitewater lost last year, they still were picked #2 in the preseason poll.  And even though Stout did return a lot, they ended the year 9th last year and were projected #9 preseason too.

Disagree with PointSpecial on this.  The biggest reason why WW was picked was to finished 2nd in the WIAC is because everyone expects them to finish in the top two.  Remember the Warhawks found a way to win the WIAC Championship this year although they had to replace all five starters from last years team AND they only had one player make First Team All-Conference.  While Eddie had 2 players make First Team.   There is no doubt that Eddie did an AMAZING job the second half of the season, but what about the first?  If Eddie had all of his success in the first half, but struggled in the second would you feel the same way?

Go Pointers and Warhawks.  Show the Nation what the WIAC is all about.

Congrats to Stevens Point on winning the WIAC Tournament and being named as a host site for the NCAA Tournament.  It wasn't always a pretty game, but it was entertaining.

Just Bill -  Agree with everything that you mentioned above.  Clearly the NCAA was trying to spread the basketball powers.  Thus Wash U, Stevens Pt, St. Thomas or Carthage would not face the likes of a Whitwater or Whitworth until the National Championship game.   If the NCAA had followed the same procedure as last year, all 6 of those teams would be in the same regional.

Must be a disappointing morning for Coach Miller and the Warhawks.  Whitewater wins the season series with Stevens Point 2-1 (St. Pt hosting), Won the WIAC Regular Season Championship (Which doesn't matter to the NCAA), Won at Carthage (Carthage hosting) and their SOS is 2nd in the Country.  Yet... it still isn't enough to host either the 1st weekend or 2nd weekend of the NCAA Tournament.  Ouch.

Good luck to both St. Point and Whitewater.  We know you'll represent the WIAC well.

Whitewater's week just got tougher.  Play Stevens Point tomorrow night and then I'm guessing they will have to bus to Superior on Friday.  This will be a tough turnaround.  The Yellowjackets must feel good about this piece of good fortune.

Question for Pioneer fans.... Are you happy with the decision to hire Jeff Gard?

Personally, I thought that Lance Randall and Will Ryan would have been better hires for the school.

For those in the land of The Pioneers....

How much pressure is the administration under to hire Will Ryan?  I have to think that Bo still has a lot of pull within the University and I don't think he will be too pleased if Will was passed up.

Anything new on the Platteville coaching situation?  I keep hearing that Will Ryan has the inside track.

It's too bad Oshkosh can't get a quality and experienced official like this to work the clock for its home games, maybe if they did they wouldn't have so much trouble with their score keepers in the future.

I'm assuming that this statement was tongue-in-cheek since it was Bernie working the timer during the Whitewater-Oshkosh game last week.

Does anyone think his daughters will chip in and buy him boxing lessons during the off-season?  Maybe the next time he takes a swipe at a coach he might actually make contact.
