I think we have a case of psychological projection in play here, an attribution of undesirable characteristics of the self to the so-called "conspirators." bopol has issues and he has found a forum to ventilate them to get the attention he so desperately needs. No logic, no facts will assuage his fury. Flames of folly eventually end with a vestige ashes.

What is up with the Wheaton recruiting class and roster for 2013-14? Usually the Thunder basketball staff has announced their freshmen and team before September has rolled around. Just seems strange.

We laughed so hard at the broadcast team. It was great entertainment.....and incompetence.

Anyone have an opinion about the ranking of recruiting classes? We will know how good they REALLY are in a couple years, but on paper, who do you think helped themselves the most?

Unfortunately, I was unable to watch the WC/NCC game due to work, and did not realize how embarrassed the Wheaton students should be for rushing the court. Wheaton prides itself on being smart, rushing the court was not that. I truly hope the players went into Saturday's game and will go into the next (hopefully) two games in the Hanger planning on winning. I fully agree that rushing the court should be reserved for games in which a team is not given a chance to win, or a national title game.
On the other hand, it has been wonderful to see attendance up for both home and away games over the last few weeks. It's really been since Wash U. came to King Arena and knocked out the #1 nationally ranked team in Spring '09 that there has been a great atmosphere behind the players.
And even though it may just be one solitary conference game, it was a HUGE win for the Thunder from a mental and confidence standpoint. Schauer and McCrary accomplished something that Mr. Raymond never did. There is a huge monkey off the back in Wheaton's locker room when in Naperville now, which should lead to a confident entry into the tourney.
I didn't see anything wrong with Wheaton fans rushing the court. There are no rules when it comes to these things. In fact, I thought it added to the drama and enthusiasm of the game. The only people who would see this in a negative light would be the NCC fans. And I understand, it is hard to lose a game like that on your home court. This will pass.

saw wheaton's announcement that the new AD is Julie Davis an alum who has been on the athletics staff since 2004. any reaction to this hire? somehow, i picture her struggling to deal with some of the current coaches.
Well, I think Coach Swider might be close to unmanagable much like the late Harve Chrouser. Both coaches who knew what they wanted and they find a way to get there even if they have to go around the people they work for. Good people, but on a mission.

Different year, same problem for Wheaton. Too many stupid penalties!!!!!!!!!!
You are correct. Wheaton had 180 yds in penalties. If that is not fixed, it will be a tough season against the CCIW's best. Let's hope it was first game jitters.

Any day that I can make wisecracks about Wes Craven being a Wheaton grad is a good day. When it also gives me the chance to make fun of television talking heads and their ineptitude when it comes to basic research and any other necessary function of journalism ("You want me to look something up on Wikipedia? That's why I have interns working for me!"), it's a veritable humor bonanza.
Some staffer got an arse chewing over that mistake.....maybe even got fired. Curry certainly didn't do the research. Funny stuff.

and congrats to IWU baseball on the D3 National Title. Great year for Titan sports.
The Titan women's track team also won the national title on Saturday. Two national titles in three days - it is a GREAT time to be a Titan!
That is pretty impressive stuff. Great for the CCIW as well.

Interesting reverse stat of Wheaton UT game. UT usually averages 25 3 attempts a game has 5. Wheaton average 14 a game has 14 in first half.
Attended the game between the Thunder and UT-Dallas tonight in Richardson, TX. The Thunder played hard, but they could not stop the barrage of back door layups by UTD. They had a real shot to win the game because they were hitting threes, but they got very little going inside against the UTD big bodies. What killed the Thunder at the end of the game was very poor ball handling and sloppy passing....resulting in turnover after turnover. Disappointing loss, but the Thunder gave it their best shot. There appears to be quite a drop off in talent after the first three or four guys and the Panner kid will be missed. Was big number 40 injured? The Thunder sure could have used a big body like his in this game.
I have been going to a number of HS games here in DFW this season. This game reminded me that the DIII guys play for the love of the game. There are certainly some HS teams here that would beat either of these teams. They have D1 recruits on their HS teams who would dominate with their quickness, explosiveness, lights out shooting, athleticism and size. But it is just fun to watch teams play the game with discipline, effort and without the "attitudes".

What has happened to recruiting since the coaching change? Who do they have coming in this fall and have they held on to everyone? Any commits yet for 2010? Any opinion on what will happen to Thunder basketball recruiting with the coaching change?

Is this an unusually small recruiting class for Wheaton? Looks small to me.

I don't think this Wheaton/North Park "coach poaching" issue will be resolved without a couple lynchings and at least one burning at the stake. I'm thinking reciprocal "suicide bombings" in the bookstores would settle some scores. And by all means, make up some horror stories about the horrible things done on both campuses in the name of God. Add to that some obscure doctrinal beliefs that will scare the jocks off all the JV football players. Then we are really cooking. So let's amp this thing up, boys! The Chicago west burbs inquisition has begun.....over a football coach.
