How we doing everybody? I've gotten so disconnected from the OAC the last couple years. I'm sure I've missed 98% Mount Union chatter/2% rest of OAC talk. Life's just been busy and coaching has definitely kept me swamped. I spent last fall double-dipping between HS varsity tackle coaching and calling the offense for girls flag which is growing as fast as any sport in the US. Six of my seniors have gotten offers to play flag at the collegiate level (NAIA) as it is blowing up as a college sports as well. I still lurk here from time to time but don't feel like I have much to contribute these days. Hope everyone is well.

I don't peruse the page like I once did but I just spent a few minutes catching up on the last 5 or so pages and wondered if the OAC still has any other teams besides Mount Union? The thread is the "all things Mount" rumor board. lol
Sorry. Back to your Purple Raiders content...
Others have to post. I'm not going to post stuff for the Flaming Pile or the JCU Skid Marks. Is any other team relevant? Maybe the ONU Teddy Bears every 10 years or so (no offense to Coach Paul).
It's a vicious cycle. There's not much reason to post about my alma mater when 98.7% of the posters are UMU folks. I'd be talking mostly to myself. Don't get me wrong, I wish all the schools had the representation that Mouont has.

Is Plunk closing in on Rocky Pentello's career record for years of eligibility?
Rocky didn't even have a covid year
That's because it was called the Spanish Flu when Rocky played.

Hello, y'all.. greetings from Boston.
I have not been around, obviously, in over 500 days so I need a recap on what I've missed here... skunkssidekick? Hscoach? Kira?
Is realitycheck still causing a ruckus?

Just logged in for the first time in a long time. I am afraid that after 15 years in the desert southwest I feel pretty disconnected from my d3 roots. Just been busy with teaching/coaching and my kids.

My program is in the Final Four in the state of AZ of a national helmet design tournament. If you feel so inclined (and have twitter), please vote for Combs.

Well boys...
I applied. I was one of 8 finalists asked to interview. I felt great about my panel interview today. Thought I nailed it. But I got a canned email response tonight that "they're going in a different direction."
I am happy I put myself out there. I am glad I chased it. I will likely accept the OC position at the school I've been teaching at for 11 years now. They've been hounding me to come back every offseason for the last four years but I liked what I had going. I will sit on this for a couple days but I just wanted to update the message board since I came on here about it a few weeks back.
Thanks gentlemen (and hscoach).

I have at least applied for the HC position. We will see what happens next. And the HC where I teach has been hounding me for a meeting. I have to explore the position where I currently coach first.
Thank you everyone for chiming in and offering support and advice!

I don't get to post nearly as much as I used to (never thought I'd be "that" guy) but I can't really talk about it publicly anywhere else so I thought I'd post here.
I've been coaching high school ball for 14 years now and have spent five of those years (including that last four consecutive) as a varsity offensive coordinator. What we have lacked in size and speed we've also lacked in depth and athleticism yet we managed to win 2 of the last 3 region titles and I've managed to have a top ten offense offense in our division (about 50 teams) in the state over the time. I think I do a decent job but there's always more to learn.
My HC just took a job at a school with better financial support, a larger student population and better facilities. Logistically I cannot go with although that is what he wants and I wish I could make happen. It's 45 minutes away from the school I work at and the opposite direction of my home. Further adding to the complication, I'm in year twelve as an educator where I opened the high school that I have been teaching at. All three programs (current football school, HC's new school and my workplace) are in the same region/conference.
I am told I am the top choice to replace my HC at my current football school. I have also been hounded for four consecutive offseasons to come back to be OC at the school I teach at. My concern there is that I worked with the head coach there when we were both position coaches and there are definitely concerns over fit. As a recently divorced father of three daughters, I am swimming in my own head over this decision and if there's one thing I hate as a coach, it's not having a plan mapped out and knowing what comes next. I also serve as a varsity assistant basketball coach and jv boys volleyball coach at the school I teach at. If I take the HC position where I coordinate, I most certainly would have to relinquish one or both of those duties which won't be easy as I've been coaching basketball for 12 seasons now and volleyball for 5.
Sorry to ramble, I just can't talk about this on more overt social media platforms and guess I needed to vent or get it out there and read any thoughts or feedback.

90? That guy that hates Mount Union (forgot his name thankfully) will have to turn his ire towards a different OAC school after that shellacking.

I think I am getting older and crankier because I'm watching the Denison/ONU game and the play by play guys are tough to listen to. So many cliches and misuses of football vocabulary. Probably doesn't help that ONU is not playing sharp to begin with.

How about both of you just drop it. Right now it is nothing but a pissing contest between the two of you, and honestly I am tired of it. Let this board be about d3 football and especially the OAC. It would be a shame if more of us left the board because we don't want to have to listen to this petty BS.
I'm tired of it too. And I've inserted OAC posts in between all the foolishness. We were all getting along fine before Frank graced us with his presence and we'll continue to be fine when he moves on.

Are we really at the point that we're using the "my friends think I'm cool" defense? I mean this has been sad. But it keeps getting worse.
I gravitate towards and respect those that keep their word and can practice what they preach. You have done neither. You typed about a dozen posts ago that you were done discussing this on the forum but you keep going so you don't follow through on your own words. In fact, you felt the need to dox me when a majority of the posters here know exactly who I am already. Many have social media relationships with me far beyond this site. Additionally, and this is really what got the whole ball rolling, you attacked a college kid for not being able to act like a man for all to see but I've witnessed more than enough examples in the last 72 hours that make me question your own actions as an adult (forget the silliness of how "men" should act).
You may do amazing things for your flag football organization and community. You may be dedicated to your profession(s). Those are not my concern and I certainly haven't disrespected any of that along the way. But I won't respect you as a person for your actions, behaviors and social media interactions with me now and in the past, not to mention the way you've treated others in this forum and elsewhere for all to see.
You mentioned the toxicity of online forums and promised you were done discussing anything further here. The forum seemed like it was operating at a completely non-toxic level until a few days ago. We all know what changed.
How much more time to do you wish to spend on this?

So...
"luckily for everyone in this forum I do it for players/coaches/families, not everyone in this forum."
That's good stuff.
