If Cora wasn't only 7 months old at this point, I'd totally be in Alliance for this game and would love to meet you and Mrs Ric at The Hood on Saturday evening.  Raincheck.  Don't feel bad about the high chair comment, you can always tell some fat jokes about me.

That would be awesome!

I pulled myself away from Dexter last night long enough to watch the tape of last year's game. JCU really made a number of mistakes that resulted in leaving points on the field. Poor clock management at the end of the half, with the clock running out with them at the two, an INT in the end zone ending another drive, and motion on 3rd and inches inside the ten, resulting in a 3rd and five incomplete pass and field goal. And the game ended on downs for them at MTU's 15. Not to say Mount didn't make mistakes as well, but after watching that game, if all else is equal and JCU cleans up its act, this could be a great game. I haven't seen the Blue Streaks this year to know how better they are and I know Mount is a whole lot better than last year, but this one could come down to who has the ball last. But I do feel like if Mount gets ahead 28-10 at the half again your final will be more like a three touchdown win rather than a one score game.

You guys are tremendously funny. Sorry I'm not around more but going through Dexter on Netflix is very important right now. As far as social media, you can follow my unbelievably insightful opinions on twitter. That's usually good for a picture or two from every game. As for the playoffs, by looking at the NCAA's seedings, I disagree Mount will be traveling to Texas. If MHB isn't the number one seed in their own region I don't think they'll be an overall one or two. But I've been wrong before. About every decade. And it's almost up. On Saturday, I'm expecting a good game. I have some friends that played at JCU. Ryan DeGeorge has become a buddy and Brian Brooke is a really good guy. So my condolences to them come Saturday afternoon. As far as highchairs go, My wife and I are planning on having a couple Hood Burgers at about 5pm Saturday. So if anyone wants to save me a couple bar stools and help getting up on one that will be appreciated.

Assuming HScoach doesn't decide to end it all and take me with him because Mount has no chance we'll be there before kickoff. When depends if he sets the cruise right at the speed limit or feels like a rebel tomorrow and goes for one over. Can't believe this is my 17th trip to Salem, VA in 21 years. Safe travels all.

Be nice or I'll leave you in WV

On the way down or the way back?

Or how about we don't make light of the fact that it's hard to make one deep run in the playoffs let alone being able to do with the consistency Mount has.

The 1 being MHB in '04

And that loss came on a 4th down Hail Mary in the final minute after leading by 17 going into the final period. That 4th quarter was similar to last weeks.

I can neither confirm nor deny the rumor that HScoach was ready to jump out of the press box window if Wesley recovered that onside kick at the end.

Can't fault anybody for not going to the UMHB-SJF game today. The whole swath o central/northern Texas was hi. With an ice storm on Thursday and woke up to glassy-smooth ice on the roads this morning.  Plus, they were really only drawing one fan base and there was a big game down the road in Baylor today, too, that most thought would have been closer than it was.  I only know more abt that weather since I'm living in Texas.

The UWW-Linfield was realistically only drawing one fan base.

As you said, very cold in Alliance combined with what many thought would not a very close game.  Plus a tough drive across PA weather-wise probably limited the away fans.

Not sure what the attendance looked like at the Bethel-NCC game .

Just my guesses.  Can't say for sure what's been going on attendance wise but today could be a tough one to judge things on

In the OAC championship game the visitors brought 2000 fans and the students were not on break. Neither was the case today. Also, three Ohio High School football championship games were played today about a half hour from Alliance. So football fans that come for a good game might be there instead. Others were Christmas shopping, since around these parts you gotta get that done early.

Or maybe the Alliance Review announced during the week that Lenny was doing PA, that would have kept a few ppl away  ;D

Anyway I agree, I wish 3000-4000 would always be on the low end.

Whats interesting is Mount travels so well to Salem.

I just watched McCarron flip the ball forward while falling down. It was ruled an incomplete pass. That confirms the OAC did not send officials to Auburn today.

Ric got one wrong!!!!!

Please explain?

Ric is never wrong.

No, I'm wrong a lot. Just not sure what he's referring to because this week with this game I was not.

I just find it interesting that a team wins a few football games and all of a sudden they invented the game. Mount Union has played in 16 of the last 20 national championship games, winning 11. They have made it to the semifinals 18 straight years. They have won at least one playoff game in each of the last 20 seasons. Think about that. 16/20, 11, 18, 20. For whatever reason JCU was unable to win. Even Whitewater, that went toe to toe with Mount, and even won the seven game series, failed to make the playoffs last year. To me, this just points out how remarkable the Purple Raiders have been for two decades now! It's hard to win a playoff game, let alone 16/20, 11, 18 and 20.

You can quote me in your class on that.

I didn't see anything on the replay that justified a "Personal Foul" flag on Mount's no.25 late in the game?  Did anyone see that?  It was on the JCU sideline. I noticed VK did not take the young man out of the game. Anything anyone has on that would be appreciated.  Another great job by Ric and HS Coach.  JCU's quarterback is truly blessed to have receivers like that, they made catch after catch with tight coverage. I love it we get JCU at home again next year.

Thanks Purple I appreciate that.

When I said 2.2 seconds I meant that was the duration of the play not the time remaining in the quarter. I'll stand by what I said. If you think less than 2.2 seconds should have come off the clock then you should take off your blue and gold glasses to get a better view of what was going on.

It's interesting I'm not hearing any complaining about the push off for a full ten yards by the JCU receiver on the long 4th down play in the third quarter.

To be fair.
