How about a last one to turn off their AC for those of us in Texas!?!?

I think UMHB03 summed it up quite well. If The Cru continues playing like this HSU and ETBU will battle it out for the AQ for the playoffs. UMHB will be lucky if they finish up the season above .500!Quote from: UMHB03 on September 02, 2023, 03:01:36 PM
It's looking like the Harmon era may be short lived. I don't think I've ever seen a team at any level that is this undisciplined and unprepared. They look like they've never set foot on a football field.
You could find better long snapping at the local junior high. The OL just stands around. The DBs don't cover anyone, and then miss tackles after giving up the catch. Just embarrassing.
Forget about the playoffs, this team will be very lucky to finish above .500. From National Champs to struggling for mediocrity in just two seasons. Sad.
It won't be ETBU, I don't believe they're all that good. HPU on the other hand could be a problem.

Based on the early going, UMHB hasn't fixed the snapping issues!

If UMHB doesn't get the shotgun snap from center fixed nothing else is gonna matter and it'll be a rough season!
Somebody will need to step up at QB too, based on the scrimmages.

Posted the below on ASC board too but it obviously applies. I think it's more a shot at UTD since Ozarks doesn't have football...
The two schools leaving today don't effect football so it's difficult to say they're running from UMHB. As a matter of fact, it would be more likely to say running from UTD since they've won more conference titles as a whole than any other ASC schools recently. Really curious to see what transpires. Also curious as to why the SCAC is actively going after schools so far away from Georgia. Will they move their HQ?

This is a big issue and not just for football. Conference leadership hasn't addressed it at all either!

The McMurry punter had the chance to take a safety but inexplicably didn't just fall on the ball or kick it out of the back of the end zone giving UMHB a TD. Of course that would've made the final 55-5.

This year, the Centennial Conference leads with 9 players followed by the American Southwest Conference (7) and a tie between the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (6) and the Southern Athletic Association (6).
Trinity (Tx.) leads the division in most all-americans in one team with 5 followed by a 3 way tie between Mount Union (4), Johns Hopkins (4), and Delaware Valley (4).
But Pat Coleman, why did Tyler Huettel, last year's first team all-american punter, get pulled to third team preseason?

UMHB also has 4 players across the AA teams.

What does anyone know about this kid from HPU they named AA at QB, Landon McKinney? I see he put up big numbers against the scrubs and decent numbers against everyone else not named UMHB or HSU - 32 TDs, 9 INTs (5 by HSU!), nearly 3000 yards completing about 60% of his passes.
That's about all I know. Think he is a Junior this year. I know he was electric against ETBU. He wasn't great against Southwestern either. It'll be interesting to see how well he does without Jake Parker.
Yes...without Parker, HPU is definitely going to struggle a bit in the passing game. HPU's offensive system fits McKinney really well because he is a solid passer and has quite an arm. If you remember, HPU went up 14-0 on UMHB in Belton last season before the Cru defense found its footing. In fact, if my memory serves me correctly, HPU scored a TD within its first 3 or 4 plays from scrimmage in that game. But his main target on most plays was Parker, and without him, I'd expect the passing numbers to drop a bit. From where I stand, I think it'll be UMHB and HPU as the ASC's top 2 passing teams (because of the WRs unit of the Cru and both teams having very reliable QBs) and HPU does have 3 senior WRs, so that should help things too. Hunter Cheek could really have a breakout year for HPU as a receiver.
This is correct in that they scored very early...it was on a flea flicker. Emptied the chamber quite early.
