WAH003,

Sometime ago I heard that Luke Witt, SJU 2002, was (is still ???) playing in Europe.  But that is old news, so I am not sure it is still correct.

WW,

Thanks.......

The player who transferred from CAR to GAC after his freshman year was Luke Schmidt.  I searched a few archives from the mid 1990's and I concluded that he must not have transferred to SJU. He finished his college hoops career at GAC.

WW, et al,

Here's an ancient MIAC history question. Sometime in the 1990's ( I think) there was an MIAC player who started at CAR, transferred to GAC, and then transferred to SJU.   Does anyone recollect who that was?

Thanks   ???

Maniac......

Exactly!  What relevance do the old(e) MIAC tie breaking procedures have to do with the upcoming playoffs?  And just what do you mean by "yars ago" ? Just how long of a time is that?

Not quite the complete story Local!  From the MIAC web site:

MIAC Men's Basketball Tie Breaking Procedure
1. Head to head competition
2. Results against all teams above those tied
3. Results against above teams beginning in rank order.
4. Descending order of losses.
5. Best road record.
6. Coin flip.

OAS...

I don't know if this is true, but someone told me last night that in high school Ranwick shot 56% from beyond the arc.  He's also a career 86% FT shooter.  He's a spot-up shooter, but if he gets help from teammates in finding the open look, he can be lethal.  After watching him play the last two games, my impression  is that MAC's whole offense, the ball movement, the reversals, goes much faster and smoother when he's on the floor.    I think he's a real nice option for the Scots.

Actually, Local, the Johnnies will play MAC in the Cage.  And with CON so obviously crippled with injuries, MAC has a very good chance of getting the road win in Moorhead.  I don't think MAC can beat GAC or CAR on the road, but I do think they can defeat SJU, HAM, and AUG at home.  So, with 6 games left, MAC could very well finish 9-11, an maybe that will prove good enough to secure a 6th seed in the conference tourney.

And that would be Moorhead....jeesh

Poor Cobbers lose today down in Winona 81 to 60.

That's a very long road trip back to Morehead.

Yeah, while Ranwick exhibited a fine set of shooting skills yesterday afternoon, it was L. Johnson who had the big "breakout" game.  Going 6 for 7 from beyond the arc has got to be a huge confidence booster.  His best was at the 1:20 mark in the second half when he nailed the 3 as he fell to the floor after being fouled by SMU's Cormier.  That sequence even promted BVT to burst onto the  floor in a fit of congratulatory fervor.  WOW!

 ???
Did anyone else notice that the usually reliable Cobber web site has the score of tonight's UST-CON game listed incorrectly: CON 69, UST 63?  It should be noted that the Cobber box score and the MIAC standings are correct.    ???

GAC 59, AUG 46

UST 98, SMU 62
Bet 74, CON 69
