I'd guess there are a significant number of players that aren't excited about the prospect of more practices w/o the benefit of more games in the spring.  Bad move by NCAA -- this is D3 for a reason.

Ira, I appreciated your color during the games today.  Well done!
I also enjoyed the broadcast -- had it pulled up on the tv and the Amherst vs. W&L game was fun to watch.

Mary Washington vs. Washington College provides an interesting history lesson.  UMW is named after Mary Ball Washington, George Washington's mother.  Washington College is named after George Washington, who served on its Board of Visitors and supported the college financially.

Wasn't super impressed with Montclair.  They don't look like #5 in the nation.  CNU played them even for sure, but Lukovic is a difference maker.

Montclair vs. CNU tied 0-0 at half.  I'd say CNU with the slight edge in overall play.

Was at the CNU vs. W&L game.  CNU probably had the better of the play in the 1st half.  Then gave up a sloppy PK only seconds into the 2nd half.  CNU got the second goal via a really nice volley.  Fairly even after that until W&L poured on the pressure with about 10 minutes left but CNU held on.

CNU vs. Mary Wash ends 1-1.  I was there.  1st half played in a downpour and the field conditions impacted play.  UMW's attackers combine really well and you can see why they are ranked so highly.  CNU had a stretch in the later stages of the 2nd half where they were on top with multiple chances.  Overall a very exciting game to witness.

Not sure this belongs in the this thread, but an interesting game in NC.  NC Wesleyan vs. Barton (DII school).  Looking at the rosters, there may be as few as 5 American born players on the field between both teams.  However, one of the goal scorers for Barton is a former club teammate of my son -- so that's kinda cool.

Oglethorpe appears to be having their way with Roanoke, 2-0 at half.  Someone mentioned several D1 transfers.  I did a little research and one was a freshman at USC Upstate in 2016. Another was a freshman at Mercer in 2016.  How does D3 eligibility work?

I believe many D3 programs schedule scrimmages with nearby D1 teams for their "game" day.  Curious if anyone has any results/commentary?  Obviously, any "result" has to be taken with a grain of salt.  CNU dropped its game with William and Mary 2-0.  0-0 at half and a back and forth exciting game.  I think CNU had more shots and forced more saves.

I'm not a fan of more spring practices.  I can tell you many D3 players don't relish 7 am practice and no meaningful games in the spring.  A big draw to D3 for many players is that they get to be STUDENT athletes.  I think the NCAA made a mistake with this one.

CNU / Catholic was pretty even in my opinion.  Overall, I thought CNU had the slightly better possession, but Catholic never stops running and took advantage of a bad defensive give away in OT.  Just prior, there was a loud shout for a penalty on the Catholic keeper as it looked like he essentially tackled the CNU player in the box as he shielded the ball -- no call and then Catholic pounces.  Seeing Siahpoosh live, he is a very crafty player.
Just watched the video replay -- horrendous no call on the penalty shout in OT -- Catholic keeper absolutely tackled the CNU player after misjudging the ball.

Shout out to Catholic on a well deserved result despite SC's less than flattering first half analysis. Catholic ended up outshooting Lynchburg 15-11, Hornets only ended up with 3 shots on goal for the day, not bad for a chaotic team with an unorganized defense and no midfield. First goal for Catholic came off a free kick about 30 yards out, really nice diagonal ball and headed into the opposite side of the net. Second goal came with about 20 minutes left in the match on a really good strike into the side net from 20 yards out by their all conference center mid, Caltabiano (#24). Only Catholics second ncaa tournament victory in program history (first in 2014). Tough test vs host CNU but honestly think it will be a very competitive game, I wasn't too impressed with the Captains today vs Rosemont.
Saw 1st half of Catholic / Lynchburg game in person.  Lynchburg looked better most of the half.  Catholic had some nice moments.  Catholic's 1st goal off a free kick that looked like it actually came of the Catholic's player's shoulder (but they all count the same).

As for the CNU game, I was there for the entire game, CNU with 28 shots to 8 and the Rosemont keeper made multiple incredible saves to keep them in the game.  Rosemont rarely made it past mid field with any possession.
