With all your convincing information Greg I'll just bow to you and say you are right.  You are a joke Greg.  I would be willing to bet that you never scored a basket in high school let alone in the cciw.  You are a joke and I find it extremely pathetic that people hold you in any regard as a person of any knowledge in basketball.  You are the type of guy that players make fun of because you are one of the guys that talks about something you have no idea about.  You are a grade A joke.

Wow Titan Q great post.  Let's just take away for a second 3 names, Weirtel, Garnes, and McDaniel.
The record without them:
12-13  (96-97)
17-8 (97-98)
14-11 (98-99)
15-10 (03-04)
12-13 (04-05)
4-11 (05-06)

Total:
74-66  54%

Players like McDaniel and Weirtel and Garnes come along once in a career let alone all at once.  Bosko was lucky to land those guys and how they didn't end up at the division one level is beyond me.  His record proves my statements earlier about a lack of ability to win without outstanding talent.  The coach from Elmhurst is proving my statement more and more true every game they win.   After talking to a player last night Bosko's remarks in the post game huddle were, "You guys aren't good enough to win, I've got to go find something better next year to be successful."  Enough said.  What type of coach tells his kids that? How about something along the line of doing something this season to right the ship and maybe accomplish something.  With the way the league is going if Carthage were to rattle off 8 or 9 straight they could sneak into the conference tournament. It's a strech but possible.
As far as me remaining secretive about who I actually am, I'd be more than willing to meet any poster or any lurker for that matter anywhere they would like to discus this matter further.  My e-mail is posted on my profile and would have no problem discussing any of this with you or any basketball related topic.

I'm really glad the all mighty Sager is staying out of this one.  Bosko embarassed himself last night and I'm glad for once someone agrees with me.  Do not tell me Carthage does not have the talent to win.  Take a look at their roster and the accomplishments numerous players on the team have.  Two players that were D-2 transfers once thought to be better players than D-3.  A D-1 transfer.  Their are also numerous all-area players and so on and so forth.  So don't talk about talent, it is more than there.  I posted once earlier that the sign of a good coach is taking a team with good talent and making them great.  I think a perfect sign of this is what the Elmhurst coach is doing.  He has one legit star with a couple other players that are pretty good but no where near as much talent,on paper, as IWU or Augie or even Carthage for that matter.  They are having a hell of a year.  Don't tell me that this season isn't on Bosko, his lack of effort and refusal to move on from the past is holding this team back.  The past is the past and with how Bosko is acting he must have had absolute superstars to win because God knows he couldn't have done it with just good talent.

Carthage's effort tonight was just absolutely horrible.  From the head coach to the last guy on the bench with the exception of  Kyle Jeffery who might as well have been out there by himself.  I'm extremely disapointed in the coaching.  It looked like Bosko was just pouting rather than coaching like it wasn't him fault his kids didn't play well.  He is a joke.  It's a shame you people hold him in such high regard,  he shows no class as a winner and or a loser.  I'm sure he preaches never quiting to his kids and that's exactly what he did tonight quit on the kids, I'm not sure he even stood up in the second half except when he was forced to during a timeout.  It's dissapointing to see the way these guys play.  I wish they knew how much some people would love to have a chance to play college basketball.  Other than Jeffery the whole Carthage staff should be embarrassed and ashamed and I really hope they can win at least a few games as to not become the North Park of the league.

Why is Carthage so bad this year?  It comes from numerous things that I don't think some people will agree with.  First and foremost they do not have any stars.  Players like a Chris Martin or Dauskas who can take over a game in the last 4 minutes and will a team to win.  Bosko seems to think Trey Bowens is the answer and he simply isn't, he is over-rated and lacks leadership skills as well as the talent to get it done when it really counts.  They also sorely lack leadership, I know for a fact as a student that I aways see players out at bars nights before games and after them.  To top it all off I think the reason Carthage is so bad this year is due to coaching,  Bosko does a horrible job as a coach closing games when he has a team on the ropes.  Numerous times this year Carthage has nearly blown or blown big second half leads.  You can disagree all you want but that comes down to coaching.  Any good coach in America will tell you that.  I know everyone on this board holds Bosko on a high platform for his accomplishments at NP and two good years at Carthage but here is a question:  When has Bosko had a team that won a conference championship without three of the 5 best players in the league?  The answer never.  I believe the mark of a good coach is someone who can win without the more than one star.  An example would be Elmhurst this year.  One star in Chris Martin but the others players are nothing to special but they find a way to get it done and our my pick this year to beat IWU once.  Just my thoughts on Carthage this year.  I hope they pick it up because it was sure fun going to games when we at least were competitive.
