Atlantic East Playoffs are set after last night. Definitely will be a conference where just the AQ gets in, but wanted to let the group know of the seedings and such!
1. Neumann 4-0-2
2. Cabrini 3-2-1
---------------------------
3. Marywood 2-2-2
4. Immaculata 2-2-2
5. Marymount 2-2-2 (defending champs)
6. Gwynedd 2-3-1
*Marywood takes tie-breaker in head-to-head amongst the three teams with 4 points (1-0-1); Then Immaculata beat Marymount head-to-head.
The first round is played on saturday. The semi finals will reseed so Neumann will play the highest remaining seed (Neumann cannot play Marywood in the semis)
Was an interesting year in that the conference beat up on each other. I cannot remember a year where only two teams had more than two conference wins. I guess part of that is due to the lack of overtime nowadays.

The game winner was off a corner kick. Here is a link to the widener replays. The live stream wasn't working early on so you can't see the Stevens goals but the Widener goals are available if you scroll through the replay.

Men's soccer / What's New in 2023??
September 22, 2023, 09:30:39 AM
I know there used to be an article created for d3soccer.com that tracked changes to the d3 mens soccer population. I am always intrigued by this and was wondering if people could chime in with things that they know are new for the landscape this season! I am a mid-atlantic guy and know some things from around the area but really could use help figuring out what else happened around the country!
New in 2023
Lycoming & Wilkes have joined the Landmark Conference from the MAC
The Landmark has gone to a paywall to watch their games
Lebanon Valley moved from the MAC-Commonwealth to the MAC-Freedom (to even the MAC conferences after Lyco & Wilkes departure)
The United East & Colonial States conferences have merged. As far as I know this means one less AQ for the tourney. The UEC & CSAC will compete as two seperate divisions this season where the winner of each division's playoffs will play a final conference championship game for the AQ spot.
In that conference, Notre Dame (Md.) has become a Co-Ed school and started a soccer program competing in this merged conference.
Hartford has dropped from Division 1 and is now reclassifying as Division 3. I believe they are not eligible for postseason play but I could be wrong in that statement.
Cazenovia shut their doors at the conclusion of the 22/23 season. The NAC will compete in 2023 with two divisions of 7 schools.
Medaille also closed this summer. The Empire 8 will compete in 2023 with a 9 team conference.
Not for this season but a note for the future: Cabrini has announced that this will be their last season and the AEC has announced that Pratt will join the conference in the 24/25 season.
This is all that I know of so far, chime in if you know of anything else that happened around the nation! Also, if I said anythign incorrect please correct me!

Figured I'll try to post about the Atlantic East this season. Not a conference to get much regional talk & very much just a one bid conference every year. But there are some interesting story lines I can piece together. Results from last night.
Gwynedd Mercy 1 - 1 McDaniel | This may be one of Gwynedd's best results in a long time. Certainly since 2019, this is their first point against a top ~300 d3 side. Shot counts at least show it was a relatively even game as well. Good for the Griffins.
North Carolina Wesleyan 1 - 4 Marymount | Very important result for the Saints who have had a rather slow start to life as defending conference champions. 2022 Conference Player of the year Leo Torres bagged a brace and is now on 4 goals for the year. Slow start for both Leo & the Saints but are they poised now to go on a run?
Scranton 3 - 0 Marywood | Not too surprising of a result in the battle of Scranton. Marywood holds on for 50 minutes before Scranton can find the back of the net.
Neumann 2 - 1 Lancaster Bible | A much needed win for the Knights who played up a man for 70ish minutes. A goal in the final minute secured the come from behind result. Looks like one of those games where the Chargers were down a man and under fire. 8 saves for LBC throughout the match. Neumann gets back in the win column after dropping a result to Widener in the last minutes of their previous match.
Centenary NJ 1 - 7 Rutgers-Newark | Centenary are off to a very slow start having played 4 NJAC schools in the first half of the year. A tough year for them as there was a coaching change leading up to preseason. They need to find form soon as Gwynedd might be able to compete for that last spot in the AEC playoff picture this year.
Cairn 1 - 1 Cabrini | A result that will probably be seen as a negative for the Cavaliers, but they extend their unbeaten streak to three. Dates with Alvernia & Misericordia await as they lead into their final conference schedule in two weeks time. Hard to tell if depth will be an issue as the season wears on but Cabrini look strong enough to compete at the top end of the conference.
Tonight Immaculata host Albright. The Mighty Macs are desperate for a win, sitting at 0-3-3. Albright are a surprising 5-1 on the year, but their highest ranked win is Massey 389. Imac will definitely be hoping for some momentum in the next week as they start out conference play hosting the defending champs Marymount on 10/4

I appreciate the insight into the SUNYAC! Always a conference I keep an eye on but outside of Cortland & Oneonta.. I lack knowledge of. It's cool to hear of things not related to them.

Massey Regional Rankings 9/18 (Who are the top 10 in each region according to Massey)
Region IV
1. Montclair
2. Leb Val
3. Stevens
4. Rowan
5. Stockton
6. Kean
7. Rutgers-Camden
RV TCNJ
RV St. Mary's (Md.)
RV Harrisburg
Region V
1. Messiah
2. F&M
3. Widener
4. Johns Hopkins
5. Muhlenberg
6. Catholic
7. Scranton
RV Dickinson
RV Washington College
RV Moravian
Interesting to note that Region V has 16 teams ranked higher than the top 9 from Region IV. Obviously take this all with a grain of salt because Massey Ratings early in the season tend to flucuate significantly and ranking teams is far less accurate than tier'ing teams based off the data.

If someone emails to Massey through the contact us (or whatever the name of the sytem is called) and links them to the result of the game on the college website, they should fix any result. I remember a couple years back I emailed and they fixed a result in a quick time frame.

Marymount Va. is playing Cal Lutheran and Occidental. Confirmed on their instagram page. Seems most teams in the Mid Atlantic have been posting schedule graphics on their team instagram before they post them to the athletics website!

Third goal was really scrappy, ball was bouncing around inside the six for a few seconds before it trickled over the line. Widener goalie got to it but it was too late and already in.
