CSO. Can you elucidate the no call 6 yards from CR in MU half in 2OT that led to transition game winning goal?

Take a gander at the offsides call at the 38:30 mark of 2nd half, made by the CR.

It was one of many missed calls and bad calls. I was there and the officiating was the worst I have witnessed in over 20 years of watching soccer at all levels. And no, it was not just a "physical game" And no, the poor officiating was not just calls for and against both teams. And yes, I am a homer; but I can tell you I had no issues with officiating when the Falcons lost to Williams 2 years ago and ONU last year. The CR didn't officiate the game. He inserted himself and affected it. In the 2nd half there was on offsides called on a break way and it would have been 1v1 with MU's goal leader vs. Diffey. The call was not only made by the CR and not the AR; but I have rewatched the call. Not only was he on sides by 2 yards, the ball played by MU player was flicked back by WC player. It is just unfortunate that the CR had such an impact. Finally, when is the last time a NESCAC team had less fouls against a non NESCAC opponent, especially one like MU who historically rarely commits more fouls than its opponents. Good luck Another Mom. Will cheering for your boys.

Love the Messiah historical notes. Before flushing this season down the toilet, let me say that the Dickinson game should have ended in a tie as the last goal was scored by an offsides player. He said as much to the MU players. Now, Dickinson outplayed MU, especially in the 2nd half. But as badly as they were outplayed, the result should have been a tie.
The Salisbury game was a different story. MU outplayed them the entire game, simply look at the stats. The score is certainly not indicative of the game. The lads up top were close on more than 1 shot and great GK kept them off the board. All this being stated, the team has lost an AA 5th yr CB, has several key injuries and have been starting 2 Fr. Finally, players have been playing positions they are not accustomed to playing.
Keep the faith. By season's end, it will be a different team and all of these close games and more to come, will only serve the team well as it enters the NCAAs. Being undefeated has certainly not helped them the past 2 yrs entering the tournament

Wow. Just wow. After reading the posts, I had to watch the 2nd half(the parts highlighted at least). I have not watched either team play before; but I was appalled at the play from both teams but would have to say St. Thomas seemed to be the more aggressive, or dare I say more egregious. I hope the young man who had his leg undoubtedly fractured ends up being ok and can play soccer again. I just hated to see the result(St. Thomas winning) in light of the that atrocious play by the St. Thomas player. Hopefully, either the NCAA or their conference will discipline both teams AND their coaches in such a way that the players understand this type of play will not be tolerated.

As a parent of a Messiah player, I was at the game. The first half conditions were very playable but obviously not ideal. The last 20 minutes of the 2nd half were very difficult for both sides. MW is a fantastic team and the GK was outstanding. They are clearly a Top 5 team. That being stated, both teams had to play in the same conditions and MU was the better side today. They were still able to play their style, especially in the first half. Was a joy to watch such high level soccer even in very difficult conditions, especially the last 20 minutes.

Have not see the official attendance, but Messiah had at least 1600+ at the game Friday night.

Agree with Domino1195 on the Williams analysis. Amazing that they are in the Elite 8 and yet to score a goal in the run of play in the tournament. Their defense moves as one and the pressure is constant. And yes, the throws are not alway borderline illegal, but illegal; but as you stated, it rarely gets called.

These things are hard hard to win man, and believe it or not the magic ingredient this time of year (besides) hunger and confidence is LadyLuck. That is your trifecta in November, unfortunately some teams just run out of that third requirement. Messiah has been lucky. I have personally experienced a dance playing before the craziest by far crowd in D3 (before they won a single Chip) What people don't realize is that Messiah was a sick sick team way before 2000. Always strong, just didn't win the big one. Still even for a program this good you need loads and loads of luck to win almost a dozen Chips in a short span.
Who does Lady Luck favor now, there are no sub-par or undeserving teams left so Luck will play a big part.
So, let me understand your post. Messiah has won 11 Nattys and it is because they are lucky? Did you really write that? I have been a sports fan my whole life and played multiple sports. There may have been few lucky moments; but when any team in any sport wins 11 Nattys, it is not because the team "has been luck". Ridiculous post

As a parent of a D-3 player who had D-1 offers, some kids would rather play for 4 years and it not be such a pressure cooker, especially when it comes to the dog eat dog mentality of some D-1 programs. Furthermore, with so many older internationals coming over now and playing D-1, a kid might get some PT early but then never see the field again.
