Wow! What is going on at ETBU? Redlands thumped them pretty good today. Now they have 3 against LV. Rough road trip for them. Gotta give them credit for scheduling tough games early

Lots of preseason rankings have been posted. The SCIAC will once again be one of, if not the toughest conference in D3. Pomona probably still has the edge based on their starting pitching, but any of the top 5 teams can win the conference. La Verne and Pomona scheduling ETBU early will tell us a lot about what to expect for conference play.

ETBU looking to make a statement early. It will be a good test to see how the 3 super regional teams do with some significant departures in the offseason.

Some of the SCIAC schedules are coming out. So far some of the out of conference games are very strong. Several games that should count as RRO games at the end of the year.

Yes. There are various tournaments or invitationals during the season in Florida, Arizona, and Texas. I was just wondering if there are any sites that list them or preview them.

Does anyone know if these is a site that lists the various D3 tournaments?

The SCIAC had a great run. Cal Lu winning a game, CMS winning two and taking ETBU tied into the 9th, LV winning a regional, and finally PP making it to the CWS. I think the SCIAC will be just as strong next year. Chapman is always able to reload. Cal Lu is losing a couple key players but has some depth that might be able to replace them. LV is very young and should repeat if they can replace Terry's production. CMS is losing a couple of hitters but has depth ready to play and they should get a handful of starters back from injuries. PP has the biggest gap to fill losing Kim, but they have depth and their top two starters are returning.

CMS taking ETBU into the bottom of the 9th last weekend with a pitching staff of relievers and Pomona with the sweep this weekend. Looks like LV will lose to Lynchburg, but it was an impressive run for them.I was hoping for 2 Region 10 teams in the Championship.
Same here. If ETBU and Pomona were in different supers they would both be in. The region is loaded and looks like it will be strong again next year.

Thank you for explaining that. I'm looking forward to watching the matchups this weekend. PP and ETBU will have some ridiculous pitching matchups.
La Verne ended up getting to host their super regional when Case Western, their predetermined super regional host, failed to advance.

Exciting weekend for sure for Region 10. How did LV end up hosting a super over Pomona? Bad draw for Pomona to have to go on the road to ETBU. That super has to be the matchup of the weekend. ETBU has Sayers Collins, but Pomona has proven they can hit good pitching and has some good arms of their own. It will be an exciting series to watch. I wish they were in different Supers as I think they'd both end up in Ohio for the WS.

I wish PP and ETBU were in different supers. They both have the pitching to make it to the finals. Cal Lu and LV don't have the arms needed. If CMS can win one of their first two games their offense might be able to pound any team's third or fourth pitcher. Trinity looked like they might be able to pull it off.
I'm excited to see the region get 9 teams. The teams went on the road and played a lot of non-con games. I was worried based on the D3 baseball rankings, but it seems they were fishing more for clicks than accuracy.

Crazy! I wasn't expecting more than 2 based on some of the predictions. The 4 teams are very strong teams though and deserve the bids.

IF, and that is a BIG IF, they make it, they could be bussed to ETBU.Quote from: Ralph Turner on May 12, 2024, 03:01:20 AMMy first bracket has a "Texas" sub-bracket of ETBU, TUTX, Cent LA & CTX, possibly in Marshall TX.
Would the NCAA typically keep the TX teams in the same regional? And, do the teams prefer to be lumped together? I'm sure keeping expenses down is important, but I'd prefer to see some different opponents in the first round.
Did you take a look at the SCIAC results? Pomona's pitching seems like it was really good and the hitting was also outstanding. For some reason LV didn't throw their best pitcher. It really hurt them against Pomona.
Then P-P hosts a bracket with a Pool C SCIAC and the NWC winner and a Texas team gets flown to SoCal.
MY Super Regional would have those winners facing off.
But for 4 (FOUR) of the 16 Pool C bids to go to ASC, SCAC, SAA and SCIAC runners-up is a tall order.
So which conf at large do you feel gets left out? No chance ETB gets snubbed. B-SC does look like a highly likely bid. I can't see Trinity getting overlooked.
CMS did beat 2 regionally ranked opponents and didn't get blown out by Pomona. If the SCIAC gets 2 teams I think they are in. La Verne on the other hand has been sinking bad and a 15-0 loss can't be overlooked. Over the past 4 weeks they've lost a series to CLU, CMS, and a poor showing in the SCIAC.
