Bowtie / jnkezek -  another W&L poster here.   Great season by the Generals and a great building block.  However, we wont sneak up on anyone next year so need a huge off-season to add some pounds on the line and keep "that swagger"

I'm been awol for awhile on the board, but the Cheeks squadron is driving down from NYC to the Water for the game on Saturday.

A generic comment on the tailgate would be helpful....

GATA GATA GATA

Its been 5 years since the Cheeks played the 'Water, but driving thru B'Water a few weeks ago en route to lexington, the loins of the Cheeks felt the buzz of the legendary battles that have gone down on Wilson and Jopson fields....

May the Cheeks be with you

ODAC rumor mill:

I heard that former W&L all-conference cornerback Chris Shortall (1998-2001) just got featured in People magazine as being seen in cahoots with Paris Hilton

I got a few offline comments about this... its true...

The entire reason I bring that up is that Coach Clark is so important to not just the football program, but Bridgewater College as an institution.  So, with 1500 students, the math is roughly:

1500 - 375 students per class, 190 males, 40 on the football team, ~22% of incoming males are revolving around football.

Should the program go on a more secular decline, a la Emory and Henry, the school loses what is a major draw to bring in more students and $$ to support development, etc....

just don't want to get away from the big picture here...

what is the amt of undergrads at 'Water??  I'm guessing +/- 2000, which is approx 500 a class, so 250 guys...

follow-up question, how many freshman are at practice in August, 50??

So, 20% of the male population at Water was at one time a football player... pretty staggering

new debate.... is RMC going to be competitive again??

Saw a debate on here as well regarding backs...

Devon was pretty nasty and was materially better than Boyle.  Boyle his senior year was not impressive to say the least..

if we really want to turn back the clock, Oliver Jordan from E&H in the late 90s was nasty...

any debate regarding running backs needs to include Marc Watson and Chris Sullivan

Notar had some good stats, but I doubt he would have been able to put those up against real ODAC competition

Hey anybody know where all those W&L posters went?

Forma80 and THE CHEEKS are pretty pumped up about how Miriello's squad finished the season at the 7-3 mark.  The program is developing in an awesome fashion and has the unique ability to steal some recruits next year that might want to come down south as opposed to playing in the Ivy league...

Sitterson could be the next coming of Chris Sullivan, who was one of the fastest game breaking backs in recent ODAC history (along with Marc Watson)

There must be something wrong with the Quality of Wins index .... as the Tigers' points total is now 10.22, better than either Bridgewater (9.43) or Washington & Lee (8.62).  That puts the Tigers at #27 in the Quality of Wins index, way too high for a team that won't be going to the playoffs (while Bridgewater and Johns Hopkins will be).

Quality of wins... a W is a W... I won't be rooting for the Generals in the postseason either, but I am not running around with bitter beer face...

Algernon-

I guess this is why you are so bitter:

1) Family weekend... YOU LOST
2) Homecoming weekend.... YOU LOST (again)

First, I think you reference to the Sewanee game as the right "comp" is absurd.  Lets look at the right game against the best team in the confernce, Bridgewater (yes, I said that, b/c it is true)

ok, you LOST 31-24, we LOSt 17-13... and I would argue that the Generals were not exactly a pushover that day if you read the posts from last weekend...

the only thing better about beating Sydney is hearing all of the bitter folk complain about it...

I eagerly await your bitter and insightful response...

oh, and thats Cheeks, RONNIE CHEEKS.

Cheeks has spoken.

It truly looks like W&L and BC are the top 2 teams in the ODAC this year!

Oh, yea ..... sure.  Perhaps you've forgotten about HSC and it's 7-2 record.  Maybe it was the Generals 10-7 victory over Sewanee that so impresses you .............

I don't think the Generals 4-point victory over HSC qualifies them for second best in the ODAC .... otherwise, we'd have to conclude that McDaniel is a better team than Bridgewater.

Algernon - it is not the slight win over Sewanee that matters but beating you guys was what mattered.... all of this he said, she said means nothing b/c when syndey and the Generals battled, the tigers went home with their tail (and playoff hopes) between their legs..

we are better than you

The Cheeks is cooking....

After a bad Cheeks performance against the water (could not match what the offense and Defense did), I am sure the CHEEKS will come out strong and dominate E&H...

Carnage and pain.
