Sorry I've been away since Thursday.  We drove 3.5 hours in the rain via the Pa. Turnpike, then a Rt. 81, New York through way, and a whole bunch of other pay roads.

Friday night (Saturday morning) we were woke up about 1:00 am by an alarm for a fire in the DoubleTree.  Someone who was attending a wedding on the 3rd floor (yeah right) ripped off a smoke dector off the wall in their room.  We had to leave the building.

Well anyway because I had informed the SJF bloggers of where we were  staying on Friday night, my law firm "Fleece-em, Cheat-Em and Steel" agreed Thursday night to monitor our Civil Rights as Senior Americans, and our Rights as Disabled Americians.

During the evacuations of the Hotel (including the Rowan football team, coaches and trainers) I tripped on ramp leading from the disabled elevator to the lobby and to exit the front door.

I asked a question "at what time and location will tickets be sold?"  I would hope that at least one fan of SJF would know the answer to that simple question.

Or maybe these are just a bunch very young men who humor themselves and each other with no real purpose with their failed non-attempt to be civil.

Rowan-Texan these guys are not very nice.  Do you think several of their posts would be good reading material for the team on the 7 hour bus ride to SJF?

Maybe we could connect some of these screen names to actual players on
SJF offensive team.....

Will be driving up from Rowan Friday around noon.  Staying at the Doubletree.  Been a Prof's fan for 25+ years.  What time do the tickets go on sale on Saturday and from what location?

I had bi-lateral knee replacements 2 years ago......I set off metal detectors in the airport.  Would really appreciate a seat somewhere in the bleachers.

I will be wearing a 30 year old Glassboro State (with ROWAN) wool stadium coat that is Brown and Gold (more like yellow in the lettering). Coat has been to 5 Stagg Bowls (we didn't win any) and two trips to Alliance.....we are 1 & 1 at Mount Union.

Just hope and pray no players, coaches, fans or Senior Citizens get hurt.

Hope you people are friendly.  The only bad fans are and have been for years is Montclair in New Jersey.

Should be a good tough game between two good teams.  Your team is big, fast,
have home field advantage, will have a large home crowd and playing on your field.

We are smaller, slower, have been winning too many games in the last few minutes of
games this year, and cold damp weather is not good for us older types to cheer.

The only thing you have to worry about is if the Stuffed Fat Chicken shows up for the game.  If that happens the scales will be tipped in our favor.  The Stuffed Fat Chicken has been at all homes games for about 3 years.  We never lost a home game when the SFC cheers at the games.

Oh no.  I read the stats of SJF.  They are bigger and faster that RU.  They have an All American running back.  They have bigger offensive and defensive linemen.  Their whole team is bigger and faster than RU.  However their webmaster cannot spell physical correctly. This is a chink in the SJF steel body and will effect the final score.

Last year we went to Union, they were undefeated and a great running back, wide out and quarterback from Heaven.  Our 3rd string running back gained over 130 yards.  Their All American running back less than 60 yards.

We arrived at Union before  the gates opened for seating.  I had a coffee in my hand and went to the right side of the Stadium, and attempted to see the field.  The field was snow free but the area to the right of the Stadium had snow over ice and I slipped, spilled my coffee and could not sit the whole game and could not drive the whole way home.  The inside of my right leg turned black and blue.  Had to have X-rays and CAT scans of my left leg.  My New Jersey lawyer collected $35K from their insurance company.

Before the Delaware Valley game (they were also Undefeated) we arrived about 45 minutes before game time.  Neither side of their field  had a ramp into the bleachers for handicapped persons in a wheelchair.  I have a Handicapped tag on my car for bilateral knee replacements.  Can you guess how much I collected from Delaware Valley College and we won?  Their field was a poor excuse for an Ag. College.

Now onto SJF.

I will be 60 in June of 2007.  I have 3 daughters, 3 grand daugthers, and 4 great grandaugthers.

Well what will happen at SJF.  Myself and a long time Rowan fan will arrive on Friday.  We will arrive with 4 New Jersey lawyers with New York certifications.

We will challange the parking places for Rowan and Handicapped spaces according to New Jersey laws.

My three daughters graduated HS from a Catholic HS.

My youngest graduated from St. Joseph University in Philly.

And I. :-X

I must be getting old.  Cortland fans, Hobart fans and Wilks fans were all class acts.  Yesterday at the Wilks field the only thing that bothered me was the wooden bleaches and Spot-a-Johns.  I don't like wooden planks that go down when you step on them and absolutely cannot us a spot-a-pot.

There were Wilks fans next to me and in back of me.  Great guys with a few sons with them.  We all agreed on the calls of the ref's and we agreed that a Rowan D-back got away with holding on a Wilks receiver's Jersey.

After Rowan muffed the point after I really had to go.  Had to used the spot-a-pot.......too many diet Cokes.

When I came out of the spot-a-pot the Rowan defensive players on the field were all pointing that they recovered a fumbled.  Next thing that happens is Rowan gets a TD and completed the two point conversion.

Last week I had lunch with another Rowan staff person at a Chinese place.
My fortune cookie said "To have success in life you must know where the goal posts are."  Rowan gets a field goal with 12 seconds left in the game to beat Hobart.

Will be going up to St. John Fisher on Friday.  Will be looking for a Chinese place to eat and hope that St. John Fisher has spot-a-pots but does not have wooden planks in the bleachers.

In all seriousness, the Wilks players, coaches and fans are class acts and good sportspersons.  Rowan has added Wilks to our schedule next year.  We don't have spot-a-pots but the ladies room line lasts beyond half time.
Be careful with excessive liquids.  We have wooden planks in the bleachers as of right now.

A great game in the Boro today..  For the price of admission, IMO, Hobart was the toughest (after Cortland) team the Prof's played this year in D-3.

The Hobart team played and left their hearts and guts on the field.

Hobart's team were great at sportmanship.  A great team deserving to be in the playoffs. I spoke with several fans and parents of Hobart after the game and my position was that no team deserved to lose. today.  With 20+ years of being a Profs' fan this was one of the greatest played in the Boro by both teams.
The Hobart fans were first class and appreciated the play of both teams.

I would advise all (Football) coaches on the visitor's side of the field (in D#3 football) to not get on the Refs.  Constantly getting on the refs about missed calls, wrong calls and non calls eventually will come back to bite you.

I officiated 3 sports for 20+ years.  And the truth is that if a call could be made either way, it will go against the pain in the --- coach's team.  Many calls are so close that they could go either way or be a no call.  That is the reason of Instant Replays in some level of sports.

on another note,  Wednesday I had lunch with the Grounds Director  at Rowan at a Chinese place in Glassboro.  Great lunch. My fortune cookie said "If you want to have succes in life, you have to know where the goal posts are located."  I didn't think that the Chinese knew about football.

I called Brian Bodine, the special teams coach and told him of my fortune  cookie.  After the call  I felt very stupid and not real bright.

The game today, Hobart missed two field goals and Rowan made 2 field goals. The 2nd  field goal with 10 seconds left in the game won the game for Rowan.

I think that I will go to another Chinese for lunch this week.  If my fortune cookie mentions "Colonels" I will call a Rowan coach again .

Allstater:

I liked the brackets you posted.  I would very much like to play Union at home and Wilks away. Would not be alot of driving for me and the Prof fans.

Rowan's execution on Friday night was the best all season.  The play calling opened the game up.  Mike O's leadership and passing ability with his freshmen receiver's finally clicked.

Rowan has several Super Backs that rotate in and out. Same with receivers.
The Prof's don't miss a beat regardless who is on the field or off the field.

I've been a Prof's fan for 20+ years.  IMHO the program is in better shape now then ever before.

IMHO the coaching staff is building a "TEAM' with quality freshman and student players of good character.

Most of the games this year the Prof's won ugly.  I hope the playoff team 't that shows up this Saturday is the same team that showed up against William Patterson.

On Thursday I had a lunch at a Chinese place with a few Rowan staff people..  My good luck cookie said "To be succesful in life you must know where the Goalposts posts are located."  I called Jay and no answer.   I called Bodine (special teams in charge guy) about my message in the cookie.

I thought the message was a Divine message from above.  Wrong.

Hopefully the Prof's will again repeat as the Beast of the East.  If not I will
have to do Christmas shopping with my new bride.

xdragon58.....thanks for the link.  Is the Jug a real Jug that goes back and forth between the Schools with the winner having it for a year?

Anybody help me here....the NJAC has two teams from NY and one from Western Conn.  Within an hour ride from Rowan there are a few teams in Delaware and several teams from Pa. in D3 football.  Why can't D3 football Colleges/Universities within an one hour ride of Rowan or TCNJ in Pa. and Delaware form a bi-or-tristate conference?  Would be a lot cheaper with transporation costs.  This is not a "Rowan is afraid of Cortland" post.  Going from Rowan to upstate New York is a long ride.

JT

Hiring a hit man may be cheaper but doesn't change the bias against fathers in divorce.  There is a father (retired Air Force fighter pilot and highly decorated) who is in jail in Albany for Non-Violent actions for picketing Senator Hillary Clinton's office to request a meeting with her to discuss with her the bias against fathers and a presumption of equal and shared custody for both parents.  He did this 27 times before he was sentenced.  He is doing 90 days and has refused to eat.  He is being forced fed through his throat 3 times a day.   He told his supporters that it is saving his teeth by force feeding.

The courts of New York allowed the mother of his son (Junior by name)  to move to California with new hubby.  He very rarely has contact with his son who has stated he wants to live with his father.  But he pays tons of child support from service pension.  His son could have been a football player in the State of New York.

If any of you upstate New York folks want to send him a letter, writing paper, or envelopes stamped speak out.  If could happen to your son.

I officiate HS wrestling.  Officiated Garren's matches a few times.  He has alot of controlled intensity.  Having to sit for 13 other matches you could tell he got antzy.  He got a scholarship to wrestle.  He pays his way at Rowan to play football.

I was foolish to plan past the William Paterson game Friday night.

What is the Cortaca Cup about?  Has to be a good story and some history worth knowing about.

The Cortland fans and parents at the game were class acts and top shelve.

I told several after the game I hope we don't run into them in the playoffs.

What type of injury does Rowan's LB Garren have?

Hopefully Rowan will be playing on the 25th and Please at home.  I have been invited to a Bar Mitzpha (spelling?) for a relative by marriage by my wife's, brother's wife's sister's son.  Got that.  The dad is a Psychiatrist.

Is it ok to give wife a large check and tell her to tell the Doc I got called into work on an emergency?

Speaking of Psychiatrists...for all mem reading this who have children and may go through a divorce.  More then likely if you want custody (remember the money follows the kids and the kids stay in the house) some shirnk will be appointed to do an evaluation and charge $8-10k, you (will the dad will pay) for him and mom's lawyer.

I had 17 evaluations with psychologists and two psychiatrists.  "ogists" make you take pen and pencil tests, draw a family, and tell what the ink blots look like. The "trists" do all the writing, no tests.

After the "trist" gets you name, education, years married and family background (writing on a yellow legal pad) he then asks the big question.....do you ever hear voices in your head?  The guys I met during the process divorce always stated the voices they heard was the wife's nagging.  (bad advice)

I told the "trist" yes.  He sat up, looked at me and wanted what to know what the voices said.  I told hom that this was a "Managed Health Care Problem"  He shrugged his shoulders as to not know what I was talking about.

I told him the voices in my heads spoke in Spanish and my HMO would not allow me to take Spanish classes so I could understand what the voices were saying.  Even if I learned Spanish how would I know if the voices were telling the truth?

So anyway, you may know a man who goes through a nasty divorce to make sure you do one thing.  If mom has the kids and interferes with dad's relationship with the kids, send each kid a card and a check (made out to the kids) for every holiday. birthday, special event, graduation go to all and sporting event they play in.  (Get several disguises wigs, extra large cloths with stuffing and never speak at the events.  However take pictures of each and every event and put them in photo albums.)  KEEP COPIES OF THE CHECKS AND THE CARDS.

The ex told the my daughters I sent them no cards, no gifts and wasn't interested in their sporting activities.

For ten years none of my 3 daughters were allowed to come to Rowan events.  My two oldest have seen the photo albums and all the cancelled checks and copies of cards with the date under "Love Always, Dad."

The two oldest have nothing to do with their mother.  My ex is no longer involved with our grand daughter.  Hopefully my youngest will ask to see the album, cards and cancelled checks.

There is a big guy (or gal) up there in sky that gets you through the toughest of time.

Hopefully both of them will come to game Friday night.

My mother is going to be 85 in January.  She had been listening to Prof f-ball for a long time on an old one speaker plug in radio.  For the last several years on an old Sony boom box with a manual tuner.  I taped the tuner to 89.7 a few years back because she couldn't read the turner anymore.  It gave out. She now has a newer sony stero boom box with both a cassette and CD and a digital tuner.  Now she never changes the station.

Mom told me last week that the Prof's were playing like the Eagles but winning more games. (She is also an Eagles fan)  She also knew that the Prof's made it to the final four 2 of the past three years.  She also knew the Prof's were in the Stagg bowl 5 times.  I have been giving her the brackets of the D3 playoffs for many years.  She records the scores in the brackets from the Sunday Courier Post sports section.   I hope I still have the facilities and passion to be a Profs fan when I am 85.

I call her from the Prof's games when I am all over the country and she knows the score and knows about the fumbles, interceptions, long pass plays, long runs and dumb penalties.  She wears either an old GSC tee shirt or old GSC zippered sweat shirt when it gets chilly during game time.

Mom has never said anything questioning the coaches, players or choice of play calling at GSC or Rowan.  Don't mention TO in front of her.  She will chase you out of the house.

Mom grew up through the depression.  She is the most even tempered and balanced person I know. Her prized possession is a picture of 4 generations of females.  Mom, my sister, my sister's daughter and a great grand daughter.  Hopefully I can get my three daughters and grand daughter together for another 4 generation picture.

Mom would probable get upset with some of the posts herein.  She might want to tongue lash a few of the off the wall posts.

Coaches coach, players play, officials officiate and fans cheer and support their team no matter what.

During the last 15-20 years the Prof's have had much more success than any pro football team.  The young men that play for the Prof's and other D3 schools put their bodies at risk for our support and for their love of the game.  I'm sure our coaches coach for the same reasons the players play.

Hopefully the BEAST has another TOP OF THEIR GAME performance left in their tank and it plays out Saturday.

(IMO, Rowan administration needs to do major work on the football stadium.  Hardware from the boards and iron work needs to be replaced every year.  Nuts and bolts can be found under the stands every week. What really needs to be done is to replace the wood boards with metal or to cap them with metal.  Rest rooms for women are totally inadaquate.
With the major investment of the new turf, the rest of the stadium needs upgrades.  The use of spot-a-pots for homecoming was a major problem for women.  Permanent restrooms need to be constructed inside the stadium fences.  My wife, two daughters with two friends from UD, grand daughter and son in law left at  half time because of the condition of the women's room and the spot a pots.)

JT-sure signs of a man getting old:

1.  Your primary care provider orders several tests that require some body invasions and certain blood tests.

2.  You stop enjoying grass cutting, pulling weeds, taking care of the health of the lawn and begin enjoying cooking, keeping the refrigerator organized, cupards organized and preparing lunches for your spouse and youself several days in advance.

3.  When food shopping you start looking at the content of carbs and fat.  Jello with fresh fruit for lunches can be made on Sunday for 2 people  for 5 days can be prepared on Sunday at half time.  Save all containers that can handle one pack of Jello with some fresh fruit.

4. Every payday you purchase your wife or new bride cut flowers and have them on the table when she comes home from work after you prepare dinner.  Shopright has several ways to prepare dinner.

Tomorrow I wil post the rest of getting old as a prof.

Several years ago, I read in a newspaper in Alliance that referred to Rowan as Transfer U.  Rowan back then had an image of DI transfers, players with questionable character and other not so nice attributes.  But they got to the Stagg Bowl 5 times.

The day after I read the newspaper article we "broke the streak" and defeated Mt. Union.  Several of the Mount Union fans wished us well and good luck in Salem.

Last year's run into the playoffs, beating two udefeated teams on the road with injuries to key players was the proudest I ever was of a GSC/Rowan football team.

When Rowan lost to Mt. Union last year, the head coach made it a point to shake the hands of the Rowan's defensive unit.

I read somewhere last year that the head coach at Mount Union stated his graduation rate was higher than his winning percentage and that was what he was most proud of.

In my opinion "the program" at Rowan is in much better shape then it ever has been.  I would rather have the type of student athlete that presently comes into the program then to go back to Tranfer U mentality.

Rowan has been and continues to be one of the "top shelf" D3 football programs in the country. I am proud of them.

Have been a Prof's fan for a long time.  Been to the five Stagg Bowls that we didn't win.  Was at Mt. Union when we Ended the Streak.  Last year did Union, Del Valley and then Mt. Union.

Been through Wacker, Bunting, Keeler and now Jay.

GSC/Rowan has been the "Beast of the East" for many years.

When Rowan lost out West in 2004, I was getting married after 11 years of being divorced.  Being a divorced father (WITH 3 DAUGHTERS) in December sucks.  For many years the GSC/Rowan f-ball team got me out of depression while deep into December with playoff runs.  For that I will be forever grateful.

At my new wife's to be first Rowan game she wanted to know if the ref's could take away any of our points.  She alsowanted to know if Jay had the players in the right positions.

At homecoming two weeks ago two of my daughters came to the parade and my grand daughter (3 years old) also so came.  My wife, daughters, and two of their friends left at half time because of long lines at the women's rest rooms.

I ended up sitting bedhind a guy (and a wife and daughter) who's son was a freshman and a starter on the offensive line.

I talked alot about the History of GSC/Rowan football and their oustanding progam, Stagg Bowls and the Beast of the East titles.

After 3 1/2 quarters he told me his son had several D-#3 colleges recruiting him.  He told me he and his wife chose Rowan because the coaches stressed grades, going to class, and graduation.  The history of outstanding football teams was not the deciding factor to chose Rowan.

He then stated maybe the Prof's supporters were spoiled with all the success on the field. I think we forget what is really important about the college experience for young men.

I missed the Montclair game.  I was babysitting my 3 year old grand daughter and listening to the game by radio.

I pray ever night for the Stye brothers and that they both come back  to Rowan after serving their time in the Marines.

This Saturday I will be at the Cortland game.  The  Prof's may win or the Profs may lose.  To me, bad mouthing refs, coaches or players is a from of unsportmans like conduct.

I officiated three sports for 20+ years.   Knees got worn out and replaced. You would be supprised at how many coaches and refs are in the bleachers or blogs making the calls and coaching.

Congradulations to the Mount Union football community and fans.  The best D-3 program for the past 15 years. You fans are class acts and your coach and team are also class acts.  I have been to the Mount Union football field for a win and a loss.  The fans were alway a class act.......even this year when I wore my "we broke the streak" tee shirt over my Glassboro State wool stadium coat which I had the word "Rowan" sewed on underneath Glassboro State on the back of the coat.  See what a hundred million dollar donation can do?

You didn't score that many points on our Defense last week.  I thought we could have won the game if we scored 21 points last week.  We just couldn't get it done against your defense last week.

Hopefully next year we have our two time all conference quarterback healthy.  Hope we also have one of our top three running backs able to play through the playoffs next year.  The Rowan player in the wheel chair was our number one running back
until his leg was broken at Union College in the snow. (he now has two metal bars in his leg) His replacement for the remainder of the playoffs had a cracked rib.

And maybe our All American defensive lineman (Tood Trout) could have stopped Kiemic a few times and got a sack or two.

You have a great tradition, great program, and a great team.  However, we have you in our cross hairs until we take you out in the playoffs or the Stagg Bowl.  Hope to see you all next season at some football field in the quest for the National Championship.

P.S.  Donald Trump is not going to ask Kiemic to go through the Apprentice program.  He is going to be offered a $3,000,000 no cut clause contract to be a Greeter at the Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, New Jersey for his sophmore, Junior and Senior year.

Wish you all a Merry Christmas (politically correct Happy Holidays) and best of health for the New Year.

I now have to put together Divorced Barbee's finacial plan..In the divorce she got Ken's house, vacation condo, ski condo, Ken's car, Ken's bank accounts, half of Ken's 401k, Ken's gold coin collection and she gets a check every other week until she remarries.

What a lucky gal.
