No need to get aggressive about my opinion.  I was just pointing out JCU table maxed Kenyon and ONU had their way as well.  I thought this was the "Great Lakes Navigation Channel" and opinions were welcomed..Good Luck..

Tablemax - you just have to try to let it go.  PN has zero self awareness....does this to most everyone that has an alternate take - then lords over the board As if he is  the true north of all things D3 soccer, or tries to draw attention to where he thinks he is fair and balanced.  Then - when called out - he seeks approval and justification from the board related to his self centered and gas lit comments.  Sadly, many still pander to him....and even more sadly.....the board just gets quieter and quieter.

As a former college athlete, and as a parent of two former college athletes...I wholeheartedly endorse the elimination of OT in regular season games.  Many of these teams play up to 3 games a week during some stretches...including back-to-back weekend games.  The addition of up to 20 additional playing minutes puts that much more stress and strain on tired bodies...particularly for teams with thin rosters who overplay their starters.

I honestly ago back and forth. Absolutely support the argument to not over play these players.....however, all these ties affect a better assessment of teams, and Id love to find a way to solve for this......I also think it impacts readiness for post season play when OT is utilized. Not sure if there is a perfect answer, but all these ties leave me wanting.....

No. 25 for St Thomas, Daniel Malheiros, is not on the 2023 web page roster for St Thomas. He's the player who received the red card for the nasty challenge on the TLU player with about 11 minutes left in the game. Daniel Malheiros is listed on the 2022 St Thomas roster as a Freshman from Brazil. He has no statistics for this year. I have no idea what this means. I was only looking because I was interested in his yellow and red card history.

...and the audio captured of the coach yelling at a player.....he was speaking to Danny from what I could hear.......his soccer days may have ended as a result of on and off field actions....

Interesting study on keeper cognitive abilities.  "Specifically, we found that the goalkeepers displayed a narrower temporal binding window relative to both outfielders and control participants, indicating more precise audiovisual timing estimation...For instance, when a player strikes the ball, goalkeepers not only use visual information to determine the ball's direction and flight, but also rely on auditory information such as the sound of the ball being struck; however, the relationship between these multisensory cues will change depending on the distance of the striker and in many cases (e.g. where the striker shoots from outside the box) the sensory information will be temporally decoupled.

Kuiper, I think that last red on TLU was for a violent swing/shove or he got yellow for the foul and then another for the aggression.

Still cannot believe TLU gave up that free kick in that spot.

TLU backup GK is gonna need serious trauma debriefing.  He was inconsolable and may have fractured his hand hitting the post.

The commentator said it was a second yellow, but it didn't matter in the moment (although might later if there is a bigger suspension involved), but I totally agree about the foul and the backup GK.  I saw him hit the post too - he's a big boy who probably hit it hard too.  To put my comments about the backup GK in context, that's a Freshman replacing a Senior in that situation.  He had only played the last 6 minutes and 39 seconds of a 4-0 win thus far this year and that's it for his college experience.  I'm sure he's great in training, but he probably was still trying to get his heart rate down from the run into the field and had very little warmup most likely.  This one is going to haunt him.

Young GK put in a tough spot, but no excuse for hitting and kicking the goalposts the way he did.  granted  - I think every kid on that field was probably out of sorts after (and during) that game....never seen anything like it.  Not sure if the referee managed it well either.  I think both teams will need some serious debriefing after that one.  The injury looked really bad for the TLU player - went back and looked at it a few times - direct contact to his ankle....afraid a bad break at minimum.....best wishes to him

Coach Singleton (W&L) had a snippet posted on the WLU Generals Facebook account today. Favorite Memory at W&L? "Earning a trip to our program's first final 4 while beating Messiah on our home field was a great day!"

Yep... it might have been a few years since Messiah won a Natty, but they are still getting everyone's best shot and carrying the big target on their backs. Been going on for 20+ years and you have to admire that success in a program.

Agree  - Playing Messiah is most every program's biggest game of the season.  Regardless of rankings, Messiah gets everyones "best" each time they play.  Big target each time they play.  Testament to the program for sure.

If the Board is that bad maybe you should find another soccer board more to your liking.

.......as so many have based in the toxic culture that this board is. But, I think I'll stay and just troll PN.

Generally interested, most of your posts are about other users. If you have a different perspective *on soccer*, by all means share it. I appreciate the generally collegial nature of the board, and would encourage you to help keep it that way.

You find PN collegial? This Board is either him doing his thing, or people like you sadly pandering to him for his favor. It's disgusting.

PN - what does the phrase "tone deaf" mean to you?

MSF, if you have an observation to share or point you want to make, please do so.

Aren't you a Messiah guy?  I'm really surprised you went at a player like that with such an overreach.  Now we're here because some suggested maybe don't come to hard conclusions based on one poor outing?  Also surprised that it took a guy who's posted like 10 times ordering and insulting others to give you the courage to speak up if you have an issue.  Piggybacking on a rogue rookie is not a great look.

GenerallyInterested, that was outstanding.  Aren't you the guy who in your first post started advising a long-term poster where she should and should not be posting....and telling posters you'd had enough of W&L and Dave Matthews while talking about chicken nuggets?  And I'm the problem?  Not sure where anyone asked for any rings to be kissed?  Was it too much for you to describe what conclusions you think should have been drawn from a GK giving up 2 goals?  Let's assume they were horrific errors....what next?  Also brilliant that within a week you've conducted a fair and comprehensive assessment of the site and already have a diagnosis.

The chicken nugget quote was sarcasm. Poking fun at the non soccer memory lane that I was hoping would stop. And thank you for your predictable , gas lighting response. It is fun to rattle you -clearly hitting close to the mark with that response. This board is dying. You are the problem.

That was definitely a nicely struck ball but you could've driven a truck through the space the keeper vacated. Stevie Wonder would've noticed that gap.

I've seen middle schoolers lob keepers like that...but the keeper in question is usually 5' 5" and pre-pubescent.

Agree - terrible goals to Give up.  Out of position on both - and while we will hear folks chirp about him being named GK of the year - not even that erases the reality of giving up to bad goals.

LOL.  I don't think anyone strongly contested that he may have given up a couple of soft goals....the "chirping" was about drawing some sweeping conclusion about that big picture.  And, btw, you don't get NGKOY without some reality that can't be erased.

Im learning that PN seems to carry himself as the truth, the light and the way of this message board.  Is there a ring that we are supposed to kiss to not have you sweep in with your arrogant, I know best,  patronizing responses?  And btw - last year was last year. and btw, the "entity" that granted that honor was a now defunct volunteer website.  Kid has talent - but lets keep it all in perspective PN.

You've caught on to this dynamic very quickly GI.

I am betting that PN is the predominate reason that this board has limited at best active posters.  Not sure who named him the ruler of this site - but emperor is missing his clothes for sure.....

Or, we could give the NEWMAC just a little credit....in a matter of days Babson knocks off mightly Amherst and Wheaton holds red-hot Bowdoin to a draw.

When the NESCAC rarely plays top level out of conference matches it's easy to keep the narrative going that they simply are too good for everyone else outside the conference.  Let's mix in Oneonta, Cortland, Rochester, Messiah, Rowan, Montclair, F&M, Hopkins, Stevens, etc, etc.

Indeed!  Test your meddle a bit more out of conference.....in the long run it benefits the conference to do so....

For goodness sake -can we get back to soccer?

New rankings out today from United Soccer Coaches.  Not surprised to see Messiah at #1, but Mary Washington only falling to #2 with the loss seems generous.  These rankings seem relatively subjective at times, so nothing to lose sleep over - but interesting.

Not at all.  They are that good.  Would also say the weather was no ones friend on Saturday.  Although Messiah was the better under the circumstances.

SC.

They are good.  But in better weather, Messiah removes any doubt.
