It's a slow off season fella but per insiders, the Rooster's QB1 Zebrowski has put 30 pounds on his bench since November and can throw 10 yards further than last year.

Hartford State's very own kicker Matthew Jumes was named an AFCA First Team All-American. Tuft's Travis Cepalia was named to the second team and no other NESCAC players were named. This leads me to conclude that the best player in the NESCAC this year was a 5'8" kicker. It should be noted that Jumes finished the season with 195 career points, which puts him 6th all time on Trinity's top scorers. Barring any major issues, Jumes will most likely finish as Hartford State's leading scorer all time (Which is currently Max Chipouras with 248). His 46 made PATs this season is alos a NESCAC record, one which he previously held at 39. Moral of the story is that Lord Jeff zigs where others zag, recruiting a kicker who's automatic when it matters and not one who has to worry about having to try multiple 40+ yard kicks a game.

Absolute robbery that #9 Malyke Davis from Hartford State was not named to either All NESCAC team. Are you telling me that #1 on Wesleyan who had 3 TDs scored on him by our dear friend Sean Clapp deserves a spot over Davis? Their stats are nearly identical with the edge to Davis for PBUs. I'm sure the voters didn't want to put the entire Hartford State secondary on the All NESCAC team but Davis got robbed.

Region 1 football (New England-ish) / Re: Commitment to FB???
November 16, 2023, 11:40:10 AMQuote from: MammothDad on November 12, 2023, 06:42:14 PMTrinity does not have a dedicated FB weight room. There is a varsity weight room for all teams to use which FB uses.
I know Trinity is the ONLY school with a dedicated FB weight room but is there anything material, in the form of "commitment" as important as lowering academic standards to get better talent on the field?
I'm sure there are many other D3 Programs that would love to swap locker rooms, weight rooms, equipment etc. with ANY of the NESCAC schools. So when we really measure "commitment", isn't making deviations from the student norm the most important thing?
I'll leave a school name out of this but I did meet an athlete who "front doored" a school in the NESCAC who has a great football program and he/she said ALL of the athletes at the school look down on the FB players for not being close to the academic standards of the rest of the student body.

NM....what version of the Red Birds need to show up to take down the dirty chickens on that lovable goat farm you call home field? I've only seen them play once and they were below mediocre for sure. I know you've seen a ton of their games so interested on your views.
We didn't forget about you Big Kat...
If the version of the Cards shows up and plays Saturday the way they played in beating the Pants (who beat Hartford State), the Hamiltonians, UBates, and Amwurst and plays they way they did in the second half against the Ephs and the 2nd and 3rd quarters against Bowdoin, it could be a very interesting game on Saturday.
If we play like we did against the Jumbo's and the Mules, it could be a long day on the oldest continuously used football field in America.
To win: Wes needs to pressureFetter, have some semblance of a running game, another great day at QB for Niko, Sheeks D continues to play great, and Wes gets some turnovers (another defensive TD would be a plus; we do have 5 so far this year), Wes could get the upset.
Will be a huge crowd for "Salute to Service Day" at Wesleyan. The weather forecast is favorable.
Rumor has it that Whales hasn't had the grounds crew mow the turf since mid-September so the grass should be at perfect length of about 10"-12" for the Turducken Bowl...

All jokes aside should be a beautiful day for a Bantam victory on the Wes quad. I know the Bants are hoping for a big crowd. The more people's day they can ruin the better.
Roll Bants
Thank you Bantam4Life, I look forward to seeing you after the game for an old fanshioned in honor of Lord Jeff and the Hartford State Roosters
