Quote from: EphsML on April 30, 2024, 12:07:18 PMFischetti top 5 in rushing yards after only playing 3 games and about a quarter... would have ran for about 500 yards at least against Wesleyan and Amherst if healthy... that Reece kid is good but would certainly be the backup under a healthy Fischetti

Oh, bless your heart! That's cuter than a bug's ear. But Reece? He's the whole darn farm, steady as a preacher on Sunday. To the tune of zero fumbles all last season 8-) 🏈🌟 Stat Facts 101

About Andre Smith. Sure, his stats might not jump off the page, but football isn't just played on paper, right? It's about the raw talent and potential on the field.

Now, if we're talking speed and elusiveness, Smith is in a league of his own. He's got that explosive acceleration, great agility.

It's all about the potential, and Smith's ceiling is sky-high. 🚀

Adding our star dual-threat QB into the mix solidifies our position as the **#1 rushing threat** in the league. With his ability to make plays both in the air and on the ground, there's no question about our dominance in the rushing game.

Quote from: GroundandPound on April 24, 2024, 11:37:29 AMNescac1, that is a solid pre-season prognostication.
LoneStar12, if I were doing a best QB/RB running combination Tufts would No. 1.  If it were just the starting RB I do not have an opinion but you sure made some good points as to why it should be Reece.  My RB position group rankings involves looking at No. 2 backs as well.  Who is the No. 2 RB for Tufts?  Do you think he is  better than McCabe at Trinity?  Either way, it is just a pre-season prediction which is not worth the paper it is not printed on.  We all know what matters is what happens on the field this fall.  I agree that the changes in the OL may not impact running output because sometimes the very good RBs make almost any OL look great.
In this updated pre-season rankings of position groups, I would like to separate the DBs into the CBs and Safeties to try and make a more accurate forecast of how units might perform. I will need some help, however, because some rosters do not identify the two different positions and the all conference list does not differentiate - all are "DBs".  I know Midd has two all conference CBs returning but needs to replace their safeties.  With some input we can probably create a more accurate picture of top position groups.

4/24/24 TOP THREE RETURNING POSITION GROUPS 2024

QBs: Tufts, Wesleyan, Trinity
WRs: Wesleyan, Middlebury, Trinity
RBs: Trinity, Tufts, Williams (Per Lonestar12: Tufts, Trinity, Williams)
TEs: Bates, Williams,
OL: Middlebury, Trinity, Williams
CBs: Middlebury, Wesleyan ?, Williams ?
Safeties: ????
LBs: Colby, Wesleyan, Williams
DBs: Middlebury, Tufts, Amherst
Kicker: Trinity, Williams, Middlebury
Punter:  Hamilton,

I'm not entirely sure who the number two back is for Tufts, but judging by the eye test, Personally I've been really impressed with both Andre Smith (#1) and Khalid Calhoun (24). Andre Smith, in particular, has shown incredible speed and elusiveness on the field. He's a proven top performer in the return game and I'd definitely rate him as one of the top 3 backs in the conference. When it comes to dynamic duos, I believe Reece and Smith are the best one-two punch in the league.

If if was a 5th we'd all be drunk.

I dont know about you guys but I am soooo looking forward to the big game against Trinity now.

I'll be the one in the #12 jersey, 'Bum Dad' on the back –  8-)  👊

Quote from: Charlie on April 23, 2024, 05:19:22 PMThe odd part in this entire rant by the Tufts dad is that Trinity boasts probably the best RB in the League in Denapoli."...

If we're judging the top running back spot by traditional stats, Reece's stats speak for themselves  with his **League-leading Rushing Carries**, **League Leading Rushing Touchdowns**, ** League Leading Yards per Carry**, and ** League Leading Yards after Contact**. But let's play devil's advocate for a moment and consider that maybe, just maybe, we've all been hoodwinked by some mysterious, unseen metric that transcends the stat sheet.

Could it be that some other back, with commendable but not chart-topping numbers, is actually the secret king of the gridiron, crowned by this enigmatic standard? Is there a hidden football cabal that values the number of high-fives per game  ::)

But back here in the realm of objectivity, where numbers don't lie, and yards are earned, not conjured, Reece is the stat leader. How can one claim the throne when another has outpaced, outmaneuvered, and outright outscored in every measurable way? It's a conundrum wrapped in a riddle, shrouded in pigskin mystery.

So, until the grand reveal of this arcane metric, we'll stick to what we can count on—the cold, hard stats that show Reece is the number one back🏆

Most Hated Batant, Why are so mad? Geez, I never knew "sore winner" was an actual thing  8-)  Alright, let's cut through the fluff and get down to business. 🏈🔥

Listen up, keyboard warrior: you're out here swinging like a third-string linebacker, but your insults? They're more predictable than a prevent defense. Tufts goes 6-3? Sure, it's like clockwork – but guess what? Clocks don't win championships; players do.

And Coach Civetti? Yeah, he's got more X's and O's in his playbook than you've got Twitter followers. So, before you start throwing shade, remember that he's the one orchestrating the game plan while you're just an angry armchair quarterback.

Now, about Florida football owning Texas? That's like saying a gator can out-rodeo a longhorn. Both states bring the heat, but let's not forget, it's the players who turn the turf into a battleground. So save the state pride for the license plate – we're here for the gridiron clash.

And as for your angry outburst? Well, that's cute. It's like a chihuahua barking at a freight train. Maybe next time, channel that energy into a touchdown dance or something. Because in this game, confidence is currency, and you're running on empty.

Now go hit the showers – you've got some humility to wash off. 🚿😎

Kindest regards, A Bum Dad.

Full disclosure: I'm a dad not a player.

Sure, we might have a target on our backs, but in Texas, if you dont have a target on your back, then you must not be worth targeting.

When you say act like you've been there before? Do you mean, like leading the league in rushing before? Or leading the league in most carries and most touchdowns before?  8-)

And about that 6-3 record, well, we were just warming up. This year, we're turning up the heat Texas-style. Last season's 6-3? That was just the appetizer. This year, we're coming for the full feast. We respect the game, we honor our opponents, and we play with heart—the kind of heart that's as big as Reece's home state, our beloved Lone Star State.

So, to all those teams out there, consider this a friendly Texas tip: when you see Tufts on your schedule, bring your A-game. Because we're not just playing for titles; we're playing for pride. And in Texas, pride is everything.

Best of luck,
The Tufts Team with a whole mess of Texas Spirit.

Sure, we took the L against Trinity—big round of applause for them. They really brought the 'senior' power to the game, didn't they? With more grad students in their starting lineup than a college reunion, they naturally had the edge. But Reece did run off about 70 yards in just one half against their 'experienced' squad. If Trinity couldn't stop him last year, Buckle those chin straps extra tight this year...  And age before beauty? We'll see about that this time around.

And spanks that.. well u know  8-)

Oh Nescac Newbie, it seems my forecast has ruffled your feathers,
Did I step on the monopoly board of your thoughts, tethered together?
My apologies, truly, I didn't mean to cause a scene,
Here's a tissue for your ego, keep it crisp and clean.

But let's not let predictions cause such a stir,
After all, it's just a game, not a personal slur.
So let's shake on it, move forward, and have a laugh,
And save our tissues for when Tufts comes to your favorite team's town. 🏈😄

To the concerns regarding Tufts receivers.. Tufts University has had a remarkable run the last few years nurturing top-tier receivers. This year promises to uphold that tradition. So anticipate witnessing yet another Tufts receiver rise to prominence, delivering performances that will undoubtedly capture the attention of fans and critics alike. You heard it here first.

While I hold immense respect for our remarkable Tufts linemen, who have undoubtedly earned every accolade they've received due to their outstanding performance, I would like to address the notion that Tufts' running game might not perform as well following their departure. If you believe this scenario to be true, I happen to possess some ocean-front property in Kansas that I'd be delighted to offer for your consideration." 😄
