https://unitedsoccercoaches.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/2024-United-Soccer-Coaches-Senior-College-All-America-Voting-Procedures-Coaches-3.pdf

Coaches vote but only for players they played against to then get multiplied by a formula the team's record (caliber) which gets us to the final points count. For All-American selection the players with the highest points get selected, so there is no impact on voting beyond the regional coaches the players have played against.

Selection of All-Region Teams Formula
1. PLAYER'S VOTE INDEX (PVI) = [Opposing coaches vote 1st Team: 10 pts; 2nd Team: 5 pts)] divided by
(# of different opponents, less injury games and opponents not participating, up to 20%) plus own coaches vote (1st=4.0; 2nd=3.0; 3rd=2.5; 4th=2.0, 5th=2.0). Note that a GK does not receive a coach's vote.
Out of Division Opponents will not be counted in the # of different opponents. Example: If NCAA Div. II team plays 18 matches against different opponents and two of their matches are against NAIA teams, the # of different opponents would be 16 less any injury or non-participation teams.
If the number of regularly scheduled
matches is:
10 to 12 matches
13 to 17 matches 18 to 20 matches
Maximum games that may be deducted for non-participation
and/or injury is: 2 matches
3 matches 4 matches
        2. TEAM CALIBER INDEX (TCI) = Wins (3 pts); Ties (2 pts); Losses (1 pt) divided by number of regular season games played. Conference playoff games and out-of-Division opponents are to be counted.
3. PLAYER'S FINAL INDEX (PFI) = PVI x TCI

All Region Teams are out! Interesting to note George Charalambous who didn't receive any love in All-LL voting gets second team All Region and is the highest voted LL GK and DPOY Devall doesn't get any All Region recognition. We've seen this last year with Second Teamers making the All Region Team and First Teamers are left out, most notably Mogul who repeats as All Region Second Team.

I understand that LL Voting is based of votes and All Region/America is a formula based on votes, own coaches ranking (not for GKs), appearances, and record of the team, as well as accounting for the entire season.

It's interesting how two years in the row there has been significant changes between LL and All Region which I can't remember prior to that has ever happened this significantly.

To clarify the red was giving to the goalkeeper for catching the ball outside of the box and was awarded a direct free kick. There was no foul whatsoever.

Here is the link if anyone wants to rewatch:

https://team1sports.com/fredonia/?B=1417438

It was very poor judgement by the keeper who could've easily waited to take the ball into the box which is why I believe a yellow card should've been given. The buff attacker never touched the ball which came from a long ball from the CB and slowed down when realising he will not get it. In my opinion it was not clear goal scoring opportunity and a red card was wrong.

It should've been a red card if the Buff attacker gets to the ball first and tries to play it by the keeper in whatever way or if both play try to beat each other to the ball and the keeper decides to deny the chance for the attacker to reach the ball.

Have a look as I would be interested in hearing other opinions.

VAR in D3 expanded this season to penalty decisions, offside calls, serious foul play. Either team (home or away doesn't matter) can provide the video, it doesn't say specifically what kind (doesn't have to be field level) but it should be able to replay and zoom in and out as well as access on the field from an IPad. Hudl or Veo is not great, but Spiideo is the best platform that is used much more in the Midwest/NCAC, but also more expensive. The main point is that either team have to let the referee know that they have the technology (there is no vote or veto, if the technology is there they are allowed to use it) and the referee has to initiate the VAR process, coaches are not allowed to challenge a call.

Great turnaround after going 0-2 in the first weekend without scoring to a 1-0-1 weekend with 5 goals and 1 against as well as the Mayors Cup!

Brown was dynamic, aggressive and hungry bagging 3 goals and 2 assists on the weekend, showing that every opponent should be aware. Campbell contributed to the third goal winning the ball from a press and scoring 1 himself. Definitely a better start to the season for him compared to last year.
The Defense was solid today only giving up 1 shot on goal the entire game which in the past wasn't the case when playing Hartwick. I would like to see more from Pijpers as a 10 similar to Brown and regaining his deadly right foot.
Mogul seems to create a few good chances especially when he is tucked in and getting into the box, but I will be wanting to see more impact from him.
A player to watch is Scheibler who is stepping up as a 6 in the build up. If the team can connect the possession through him instead of the goalkeeper we will see much more dynamic attacks like today!
Any comments and observations about other players?

The team can be happy to have turned the bad start last week somewhat around at a usually negative prone weekend the past 4 years with injuries, an Oneonta loss, and a Hartwick scramble.
NOW it will show if the found their identity fighting through adversity and can keep going. SUNY Canton is up next which should be another dominance on Sandy followed by SUNY Potsdam and then opening LL Play. The right path has opened up for the path they just have to walk it with aggressive attacking hunger, dominant proud defending, and relying in the qualities of the team.

Great last 10 minutes in the first half with multiple dangerous chances. The boys rewarded themselves with a corner goal to make it 2-0, including a great save by Charalambous to keep it that way.

Let's see what the second half brings, will more players be subbed in to keep the teams legs fresh and injury free?

If the results holds this would be a much better weekend than anticipated.
