Quote from: D3boarder on March 09, 2025, 01:46:31 PMObviously bad sportsmanship from the Redlands side, but I feel like we're blowing it a bit out of proportion here. Just last week Trinity did the exact same thing to the Wesleyan fans and no one on here seemed to think it was a big deal. Losing to a team that acts like that makes the loss sting even more. Want to shut a team like that up? Win the game
I was at the Wesleyan Trinity game, it was nothing more than banter. The Wesleyan students were giving it to the Trinity players the entire game, nothing bad but heckling the entire game. After the game a few Trinity players went over to the student body, and stuck their shirts out. It lasted maybe 10 seconds. Was not a big deal at all.

I don't disagree. Perhaps Redlands was a bit more egregious but my point still stands. If we're completely ok with what Trinity did then we also need to be ok with what Redlands did. Personally, I'm not a fan of it in any scenario. But after a long game of being heckled by the student section you can't blame the players for trying to get a bit of payback.

Quote from: Ryan Scott (Hoops Fan) on March 06, 2025, 08:42:23 PMI think Tufts has the highest ceiling of any team in the country.  I love this squad.  They've been inconsistent, especially against good teams.  If Tufts gets it together, they win the pod.  I've been voting Redlands ahead of them for quite a while in the Top 25 poll.  That's a really good squad.  They're as good as any team Bridgeland's ever had AND they've got some decent size, which he's never really had.  Redlands isn't as big as Tufts and the Jumbos have the home court advantage, but I don't trust Tufts to show up two consecutive nights against good teams.  I sure hope I'm wrong.  I never root for any team to lose and I definitely don't want to see them under perform, but I have to call them like I see them.

I completely agree with this. The last two years I have thought that Tufts was good enough to win the league. Specifically, I thought they were well positioned to beat Trinity. And both years Trinity beat them handily in the playoffs, last year twice. Tufts can compete with anyone, but they can also lose games they shouldn't.

Quote from: D3BBALL on February 28, 2025, 01:17:10 PMI would say this Emory has the best big man I have seen all year. Everybody in the NESCAC would have issues guarding him. That being said to say dominate and include Chicago and Wash u, not so sure.
I have said in earlier post that if nyu and Emory were in NESCAC no way Wesleyan would be undefeated but I also think nyu and Emory would have more losses. Would I give a slight edge to those 2, yes but not dominate. Tufts/Trinity IMO would have no issue with Chicago or Wash U.
Emory did not dominate Middlebury or Bowdoin.
Hopefully we will find out in the next few weeks.

Emory's big against nescac teams:
vs Midd: 5p 5b 2-6 fg
vs Bowdoin: 13p 6r 4-12 fg
He was far from dominant against nescac opposition. Seems to disprove "Everybody in the NESCAC would have issues guarding him"
