Hammer seems to have a strong connection with his players and staffQuote from: RobertDunn7 on December 05, 2024, 10:46:37 AMAfter reflecting on this past season, I want to highlight the work Coach Hammer has been doing at Bowdoin. I've followed his career since his time at Allegheny College in Pennsylvania, where he was also tasked with turning a program around. While the Polar Bears' record might not fully reflect it yet, Hammer has clearly made a noticeable impact.I've followed him since his days at Whittier.
The Bowdoin defense, in particular, has showcased some elaborate schemes that seem to give offensive lines real trouble. I really respect how Hammer has instilled a newfound intensity and fire in the program, setting the tone for this new era of Polar Bears football.
It's exciting to think about the potential for Bowdoin to grow into a NESCAC contender in the years to come.
There was a poster on the SCIAC board whose son played for him. That guy not only liked his coaching, but Coach Hammer also helped him achieve some academic success.

In the spirit of "way too early" NFL mock drafts, I'd like to share some predictions for "way too early" all-league players heading into the 2025 season. One name that immediately stands out is Williams TE/WR Jimmy Montesano.
Montesano, who will be a sophomore next year, has the potential to be a dominant force in the league. This season, the Ephs primarily used him as a red-zone target, often lining him up as a traditional tight end with his hand in the dirt. At 6'5" and 220 pounds, Montesano has the size and athleticism to become a major threat on the perimeter if the Ephs transition him into more of a traditional jump-ball receiver role.
There's a lot of exciting young talent on this Ephs squad, and Montesano is poised to be a standout.

November 19, 2024, 11:02:01 AMQuote from: DLSmith12 on November 19, 2024, 10:52:51 AMAbsolutely BS for Shuran to not get first team. Obviously an amazing (perfect) season for Jumes as well, but when comparing the stats there is really no argument for Jumes over Shuran. Shuran 9/9 FGs with makes from 47,44,43,37 while going 29/29 on xps. Jumin 7/7 FGs with a long of just 34 and 37/37 on xps. Shuran also hit multiple big time pressure kicks whenever Raymond turned to him. This is either complete Trinity bias by the league or an unacceptable oversight. Obviously Trinity had a better season and therefore will have more all league guys, but when it comes to kickers Shuran quite literally did everything in his power to help the Ephs and was a deep range weapon the NESCAC rarely (if ever) has seen. Putting Jumes above Shuran is an indefensible, idiotic example of malpractice and laziness by the coaches and league to rob Shuran of the recognition he deserves from the lifetime of work he has put in. To wave this aside by saying "eh, who cares, they're just kickers" or that since worse decisions have been made in the past this is ok is pathetic.
Completely agree with this take DL. Shuran really showed his manhood with those deep shots that were critical points in close game situations. The consistency is absolutely there and I can't imagine what the league was thinking on this snub

I know forth from Williams and Perry from Middlebury are guaranteed selections.
I heard Williams OG Forth has a try out with the Tampa Bay Bucs, has anybody else heard this?
Tryout? Isn't there a NFL draft.......
This is probably more like a scout visiting campus, which NFL scouts do on the regular, even in D-III.
From what I've heard through the grapevine in Willytown, scouts out of Tampa Bay were really impressed with Forth's feet and his aggression when pulling which certainly served the Ephs well. Would love to see the kid playing on Sundays!
