Just read an article about a transfer to Whitewater from D1 Pitt. QB Jake Frantl from Erin, Wisconsin originally. Was part of the 2021 recruiting class. All state accolades in 2019. But it said he never played at Pitt. Had 2900 yds passing and 35 tds his senior year. 6' 0" 205.Just an FYI for next year.

I see my "secret" find in preseason (Kayden Minner) played today and led all rushers! How did he really look? No scores though. His scouting report was very impressive.

What in the H E double hockey sticks was that?

Did the team stay on the bus?

Did the coaches stay on the bus?

Who was the announcer for Otterbein broadcast?

Couple of hours of my life I wish I could get back! ???

Just as an FYI from an observation to the roster. What are the chances of having two players with the name Kayden on the team? Both are RB's and from a review of Kyden Minner bio a pretty good RB in his own right. He is from Missouri. I don't remember another player from there playing for Mount. Could be one to watch going forward. I have read about Kayden Davis in previous posts, and it could be a good "Kayden" backfield for the Raiders. It would give the announcers an easier job, "who carried the ball on the last play? Kayden did! ;D

LK's other daughter's name is Faith, which is what many of you need to have right now, Dartt winning % is .933!  For the record LK's winning % was .929 and was only .755 after his 1st 45 games.

If we hire an OC we need to look at Wartburg's OC and Mount Grad Luke Summers.  Assuming he isn't the next HC at ONU.

I've heard good things about Luke throughout his playing time and through the years of coaching. To me, a huge perk to someone like him is his background in Strength and Conditioning, in addition to Oline coaching. Those guys just see things from a different perspective.rt

I just looked up Luke on the Wartburg sight and it said he spent 6years at FERUM before coming to Wartburg, Hmmmm? He was a member of three Natty's and captain his senior year and played on the international gold medal team in 2011 in Austria. Didn't Kevin Burke play on that team as well? He looks like a good prospect for the OC job except Wartburg has put a pretty good program together recently. They gave us a run last year in the semi's.

Maybe we have a future game 1 opponent close by. Grove City seems to have put a program together that would make for a interesting game one opponent. What's their number? ;)

We may get a chance to test them out if the playoff Gods work their magic. :o

A premature call on the D3football.com scoreboard:

Date    Away       Home       Time/Status    Links
Oct. 7    Carroll          No. 1 North Central (Ill.)          7:00 PM    V LS A
Oct. 7    No. 2 Mount Union     27     Heidelberg     3     Final
Oct. 7    No. 14 UW-La Crosse     17     No. 3 UW-Whitewater     14  3rd - 15:00  V LS

Yep, it was fixed pretty quickly.

One of the quirks of the new NCAA stat program most schools are using is that it goes from "0:00 3rd" to "0:00 4th" and only after that does it put the 15 minutes on the clock. If you load the live stats at the wrong time, it looks like the game is over.

NCAA! Progress? ;D

Is Wayne Ruby not 100%? It looked like he had a wrap on his leg. He only had one really good catch along the sidelines in the 3rd quarter.

Plunk did not look good either. IMO.

Any input on how much LK is involved this year? I did not see him on the sidelines, but I was on the open side of the Stadium. The offense shouldn't be struggling like it is if he is in the building.

Also, what's with the new ticket policy not selling covered stands tickets at the stadium?

Deandre Parker is back too?

His injury cost us the Natty last year IMHO!

That RB from Carrollton sounds interesting and the transfer from Ashland too. Nice to see a RB that can ride all the rides at Cedar Point! ;D

The knock on D3 football has been there have been few kickers that can win a close game by making a long field goal. True or false? I have seen more misses than conversions. Anyone ever see a winning field goal at this level? Dont they recruit kickers?

Thanks for the memory!

I was living in Minnesota at the time hangin' with a crew of Johnnies at an Ice fishing camp on Lake of the Woods. No radio even. I was calling my daughter ever 15-20 minutes for updates! When the game was over, she wouldn't tell me the score! Don't you want to enjoy the game on replay she said? NO! Tell me the GD score! ;D
Great bunch of guys those Johnnies are!

Dropped #2 off at Concordia today for his first year. Crazy how time flies. He was born in September of 2003 and the two of us listened to the Johnnies win a national championship that fall.

Will move #1 in at SJU for his senior year next weekend. I am getting old.

Thanks for reminding me! ;D

Does LK have an official position/title (like, say, QB Coach) or is he doing the unofficial Yoda thing instead?

Kevin Burke is still listed as the QB Coach, but he is now coaching out in CA with the Dan Hawkins.

I would guess that LK is the QB Coach, just no fanfare.

the 2022 roster/coaching staff hasnt been posted yet.  but with picture day being yesterday, I would imagine that the updates are coming within the next few days

Still no roster.  Where's Lenny when you need him?

https://athletics.mountunion.edu/sports/football/roster/2022

111 players in the picture.

RB should be no problem.....Emmet  Smith is on the roster ;D

New SID has been on the job for all of two weeks, so I would expect this will get done when it can get done and not before.

It may not even be the sports info office that's the holdup. Could be the coaching staff not being ready to release the info.

That was tongue in cheek.  Mount is always one of the last schools to post the roster.  My assumption always was that the staff knew there would be some early attrition during camp based on the numbers so no rush to post a roster day 1.

Sorry, I missed that! Also, I came over here to say that apparently St. John's posted its roster today.

WHO? ;D

May I echo the sentiments about the passing of MUC 57. He was a joy to read on the boards and will be missed.

I had the honor of meeting him several years ago at a game at Hiram of all places!

We connected on the board and got together for a fun day of D3 football.

Two old? guys decked out in Mount gear at a Hiram home game!

They may have thought we escaped from the Home? ;D

ln the category of you could knock me over with a feather!
I was at our local grocery store, and I ran into a guy and his daughter with UWW shirts on.
The town is Middlefield, Ohio, a small Amish community, and they live here now.
WE were both rushed and didn't exchange phone numbers, maybe he didn't want to! ???

As I said years ago when I moved to Minnesota and began attending Johnnies games, "I'm too far away to see the number 1 team in the country play so I'll settle for number2.   The same might be said in this case too :o ;D

My experiences there were out of this world both at Johnnies games and all the other great venues I visited while in MN.
Including many stops to the Perk for the playoffs!

So, if anyone has knowledge of who they might be you can send me a message so I might try and contact them in the future and offer them an opportunity to attend some Raiders games.

Thanks for enduring my ramblings!
