Congrats to the Tigers on the good season.  They played better and played hard.  Looking forward to next season.  Go Tigers!!!!!

Good luck to Witt next week at Capital.  I guess we'll see if the Tigers just played bad in the beginning of the year or if they truly have a mental block against them.  Should be interesting...

Go Tigers!!!!

Yes, Penn St could have declined the penalty, but the problem is that since the kick team left so early, there was no way PSU could get a decent enough return to not take the penalty.

Good win by the Tigers.  Its always nice to beat the Gators.

So, when was the last time an NCAC champion wasn't undefeated in conference?  Was it 1997?

When I read Observer's first post...I assumed it was a joke, then I read the second one.

Those kind of people just need to be ignored (like they were by all the girls in high school) and they will go away.  Odds are that he is some non-athletic dork who blames all his problems on the "jocks" that always picked on him.  Truth be told, I'm surprised he even reads a discussion board for the "terrible athletic display known as D3 football."  He's part of that group that thinks athletes have it easy and get all the breaks and nothing will change his mind.

Personally, I've done very well with my "sub-par" Wittenberg education.  If anyone thinks I would have done better with a Kenyon degree, they are sorely mistaken.  And for the record, I was accepted to Kenyon, but chose a more well-rounded educational experience, including football.  I guess that means I'm an idiot as well.  There sure are a lot of idiots in this world that are doing pretty well for themselves with their "junk" degrees.

I'd actually be interested to see if Witt could do better against Capital in a second game.  We would find out if Witt just doesn't start well, or if they have a mental block with Capital, or if Capital is just THAT good.

Well, if you would rather have Kenyon in the playoffs than Witt, then its pretty obvious that you do not want the NCAC to make a decent showing on the national stage.  I'll admit, Witt isn't a dominating team, but they would fair much better than the Lords in the playoffs.

Also, saying that Witt has been lucky is a little short sighted.  They went to Wooster and beat them and they beat Wabash.  So, a couple calls seemed to go their way, but the games were close regardless.  They could have gone either way.  All 3 teams look to be the same caliber, but Witt found a way to win this year...just like Wabash and Wooster have found ways to win those close games in years past.

In 2002-2003, the Buckeyes were the farthest thing from dominating all year long, and they pulled off one of the most unlikely national championship runs ever.

Now, all this talk is for not if the Tigers lose to Gheny, but being able to win the close games is an important quality to have.

Great win for Witt.  Looked like it was a great game, I wished I could have been there.  The score was surprisingly low.  I was worried that Witt would not be able to keep up with Bash score for score, but both defenses came to play.  Hopefully the Tigers can use this momentum throughout the rest of the season.

Coming from someone who's played on the new artificial turf, astroturf, and natural grass...I must say nothing beats plush natural grass.  The smell alone is worth it.  Yes, the artificial stuff is nice if its been raining for a week, but it just seems wrong.

I truly hope Ohio State doesn't go the way of Michigan (again) and install artificial turf.  It will be a sad, sad day...

Good win for the Tigers today.  Big conference road victory.  Good to see.  Lets hope this gives them confidence for the rest of the season.

Congrats to Witt on the good win.  Good to see the Tigers get their first non-conference win in the last couple years.  Looks to be a very interesting conference season.

I understand Pat's point, however I'd have to agree with Lancer on this one.  The only true way to decide if a team is better than another team is a head to head battle.  If we start saying that this doesn't matter, than rankings go from being 90% speculation to 100% speculation.  And I'm not real sure why we would go in that direction.

Wow, NCAC took it on the chin this week.  If I read correctly, I believe Oberlin was the only winner...ouch.

Good to see the Tigers play better.  They actually looked like they got off the bus and wanted to be there.  Looks as though the NCAC is going to be wide open with Wooster looking the best thus far.  It should be an interesting season come conference play.

Witt getting waxed yet again by Capital brings up an interesting point.

Capital destroyed them last year, then the Tigers regrouped slightly and were in the NCAC hunt until a close loss at Wabash.  Wabash then goes on to play a very good game with Capital in the playoffs.

Does this show that Witt and the NCAC are that bad, or does it mean that Witt just doesn't show up anymore when they play Capital?  Are they just never ready?  Do they need more practice time?  Is the new attitude just to forget about the non-conference games?  It doesn't seem to make sense to me.

With Witt picked 4th in the preseason polls, I figured I would at least be able to come on here and NOT have to read Wally complain about how Witt gets too much respect.  So much for that thought.

Wally, you need to get over your inferiority complex.  None of the other Bash posters are as bitter as you.  Yes, we all know Witt isn't the same team it was in the late 90's.  Move on!!!!!!!!!
