"Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all the time thing. You don't win once in a while; you don't do things right once in a while; you do them right all of the time. Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.

There is no room for second place. There is only one place in my game, and that's first place. I have finished second twice in my time at Green Bay, and I don't ever want to finish second again. There is a second place bowl game, but it is a game for losers played by losers. It is and always has been an American zeal to be first in anything we do, and to win, and to win, and to win.{VL}

A post from days gone by: [see if you can guess who it was posted by]???

Mt. Union has a big program but it's not about wooing kids for their dollars.  MUC, ONU, BW...all these programs have big more than 120 kids in camp because these schools have desirable football programs to be a part of.  Attrition rates in div. III are high because of a variety of reasons (grades, money, competition).  Coaches don't mind having tons of able bodies in their program because those bodies leave over a four year period.  The point that was being made is that from a fiscal perspective, schools benefit from a no-cut environment because the cost of putting a kid theough your program is far lower than the tuition the school will collect.  But do not make the mistake of thinking that the coaches are trying to woo kids to get that tuition dollar.

thought it was a very compelling post!

I'd like to thank ALL the student athletes for providing incredible dedication, and entertainment at such a high level for all of us who enjoy you each and every year. To those seniors who will be leaving Mount, You will be missed even moreso and may God Bless you on your future endevors!

RE: this comment{If you have a decent amount of money that can benefit you in several ways such as recruiting. How do you think Mount recruits from Florida (might be contradicting myself but their reputation has a hair to do with it, but not all)?

Not sure when out of in FLA started. My son learned about Mount via word of mouth...from another buddy who was playing at JU {Jacksonville University}...   hmmm...word of mouth from FLA to MN  ...there certainly wasn't much money invested there :-[   I believe it may be a little deeper connections now that people like KeresDad and my son are coaching in FL...but b4 then...pretty sure there wasn't much going on investment wise ???   I've been wrong b4....

Mt. Union head coach Larry Kehres yells at a Mt. Union player for getting an unsportsman like conduct penalty after excessive jubilation after a touchdown against Bethel during the second quarter of their NCAA Division III semifinal game at the University of Mt. Union Saturday in Alliance. Mt. Union advances to the championships with a 34-14 victory over Bethel. (Karen Schiely/Akron Beacon Journal)

GOTTA LOVE COACH KEHRES! SIMPLY THE BEST

3.  Bethel's offense SUCKS.  How in the world did that team win the West Region?

Here Here! Glad that's in the open....Hope this does not ill prepare Mount for the much greater foe ahead.
