Fisher looked really confused about whether or not to run a play to finish off the half.

After watching Ithaca absolutely own Cortland, I have no doubt that they will take care of Mt. Union. I predict a 21-7 victory by Ithaca.
I completely agree Tecmo. Everyone reading these should know that we firmly believe IC will head into Alliance and take care of business without much trouble.
Ithaca 42
Mt. Union 10
I believe Ithaca will surprise Mt Union. Will anyone from the FDC be making the trip?

haha tecmo they will probably think you are again being serious and that Ithaca throws their games early
haha! I felt like I was back to being 14 again and teasing my little brothers with made up stories. They would buy it, then I would continue.
I just want to see an Ithaca win, that is all!

This is a joke, right? Mount is averaging 54.2 points per game, and giving up 2.4. The first team defense has yet to give up a touchdown, but Ithaca is going to score 21. The offense has yet to be held under 35 points, but Ithaca is going to hold them to 7. The defense has scored more points (34) than they've given up (24), but you're right, Ithaca is going to dominate them.
How, exactly, is Ithaca, who has lost two games, and whose defense has allowed 17 ppg to teams not named Mount Union, going to stop Mount Union?
Have you been following Division III football for the last...oh, 14 years?
Yes, I have been following Ithaca. They got off to a slow start on purpose and I hate to give away their game plan, but they did this to have the mental advantage over every other team in the nation because other teams will come in thinking it is an easy win and will then get beaten by Ithaca. So get ready Mt. Union, because stats can be deceiving...and when we come to your house and win...Ithaca will be on their way to Salem...and you will wish you practiced a little harder for this game.

The PGF game was today. I thanked her for taking me to the game and said I'd call her soon and kissed her goodbye.
Wooooooooooooooo! Next thing you know you'll be at Goodyear lake floating on an inntertube w/ her... while Mikey makes fun of you... as he grills his tufo burgers.
She's a red sox fan, so I'm taking her when they play the Chisox in a couple weeks. I haven't had her over to my place since then, because my roommate, The Great Salt Lake had his frat brothers in town, and one of them peed on the futon mattress, which is making the whole apartment smell like pee.
how are things going with your gf? I love when you turn into a 77 and fall in love.

I can't believe Cortaca is only 9 days away!!! If Ithaca hasn't spent this entire week preparing for that game, they're crazy. The Alfred game is a W that you can count on every year and doesn't deserve to even be spoken about during practice.
Bombers 55, Alfred 6 (touchdown with time expired and the extra point blocked)
(Come on Reverse Jinx)
Oh, and I went to the NJ Parochial State Championships a few years back at Giants Stadium - Bosco vs. Paramus Catholic when Bosco was #2 in the nation. Probably about the best football game I've ever seen. There's nothing better than a rivalry game for the championship. Paramus played over their heads for 51 minutes, but one bad play cost them the game 14-13 Bosco. I wasn't too torn since I was there to watch Ramapo in the first game and stuck around for the classic afterward (and to watch Phil Simms' sycophants follow him around).
was that the year that ramapo lost to indian hills in the thanksgiving game and went on to beat demarest in the state finals?

Just a reminder, and hoping it will keep Pat from pulling his hair out telling people to check the FAQ, here are the criteria for determining at-large bids. Remember, QOWI and head to head competition ARE NOT the only criteria.
25. How are the at-large bids determined?
These are the selection (and seeding) criteria for 2006:
The following primary criteria (not in priority order) will be reviewed:
• Win-loss percentage against regional opponents
• In-region head-to-head competition
• In-region results against common regional opponents
• In-region results vs. regionally ranked teams.
Opponents are considered ranked only if they are ranked at the time of the ranking or playoff selection process.
• Quality of wins index–only contests versus regional competition (see Quality of Wins on the left-hand rail for most recent calculation)
• Conference postseason contest(s) is included.
If the evaluation of the primary criteria does not result in a decision by the committee, the following secondary criteria (for ranking and selections) will be evaluated:
• Out-of region head-to-head competition.
• Overall Division III won-loss percentage.
• Results versus common non-Division III opponents.
• Results versus Division III teams ranked in other regions.
• Overall win-loss percentage.
• Results versus common out-of region opponents.
• Overall Division III strength of schedule (quoted from championships handbook, but presumably this means "quality of wins")
Good post. +k
Also, you gotta figure that, despite these stated criteria, human error comes into play. I think you finish strong you get in.
The obvious counterargument to my point is 2004 when IC finished incredibly strong and was probably playing better than anyone in the East but didn't get an at large when no one from the E8 got a Pool C.
yeah, that's true, but didn't they only let 28 teams into the national tournament instead of the 32 teams they allow now? I remember there was an article saying that this 32 team format will allow strong teams with 2 losses to make the tournament more often.
I'm not sure when the tournament expanded but it was recently. That does sound right though.
I remember going to the Cortland game and I tried to start a "go saxons" chant. I got a few smiles from the parents who knew why I was saying that and a couple fans who actually keep up with the team. I was dissapointed when I turned on espn 2 and Ithaca didn't make the tournament.
