Plymouth State is winning this thing. Been like a decade since I been on here, surprised I remembered my password but I had to chime in on that one!

Reno! +k

Dlip, good to see you still hanging around. Im not used to getting +karma, I like my karma negative.

Also, we are enemies now as Union is the college that I despise the most in the world. Not enough bad can happen to them after the Audino situation.

Quote from: Frank Rossi on November 22, 2009, 03:14:05 PMHowever, the SUS-DVC game was 10-7 with 5 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.  TD, INT, TD, INT, TD in four minutes sunk Susquehanna, who was hanging well with DVC for most of the first half.

Frank,

This is such a contrived argument.  How does "hanging well for the first half" prove anything?  Are you really trying to defend the quality of a team that got beat by 59?

By that logic, my 1-9 Bucs are pretty equal to the 10-0 Saints.  They were only down 10-3 at the 2-minute warning in the first half.

If you're going to throw that interesting assessment at me, JQV, then answer how one game defines an entire conference or subregion.  My point is that you can't use this game as both a sword and a shield.  Otherwise, you best be prepared to defend the thorough weakness of the Empire 8 this year.  Terd will begin to mount his evidence on that subject now if you're not careful.

Dude, I don't need to mount any evidence.  I think the evidence is all blatantly clear to everyone.  IT goes like this:

MAC
NJAC

E8

LL

NEFC

ECFC

Forget comparing the LL and the E8, in the 2007 and 2008 playoffs the E8 Champ lost to the NEFC Champ and Runner-Up respectively!

The conferences are equal. They all recruit the from the same talent pool in the northeast.

Everyone get over it. Flip a coin every year as to which is the better conference.

Just wondering why both the Union Web Site and ATREast are making such a big deal about Coney having 1,004 yards.....didnt he run for like 1400 or 1500 last season?

Tough day for Union.  Sorry, fellas.  At least you're still at the top of the LL, and your march to the NCAA playoffs is so far unhindered.  Plus, The Rev has a lot of respect for Union for choosing such difficult out-of-conference opponents.  It would be easy to choose patsies, but instead Union chooses teams that force them to play up and improve.  Big ups.

A lot of movement on the standings board.  Poor USMMA got socked down into Hobart former spot, Rochester jumped up into third.  St Lawrence slid to seventh.  The only constants were Union, Susq, and RPI...well, and WPI, poor bastards.

The Shoes next week should be a barnburner.  Can't wait to see what happens there.

Seems like Union has been sleepwalking thru the entire '09 season....Union woke up at halftime vs. Salisbury, but it was too late to pull out the game.

Hopefully, this was a wakeup call for the Dutchmen and the rest of the season goes along the lines of the last 2 quarters vs. Salisbury.....business as usual from '09 will not get it done.

Not trying to start a broo-ha-ha here U89, and not saying that I totally disagree with you. But for debates sake, do you think perhaps Union isnt as good as we think they are? Or perhaps the East Region in general?

I say this because Salisbury handled SJF, who appears on path for a 2nd place E8 finish and who manhandled Ithaca. And I say it because that same Ithaca team that got manhandled by SJF is the team that Union was barely able to defeat.

Reno, U89 hears what you are saying, but there is much too much talent on that team to be performing the way they have in '09.

After more thought I agree. They cannot control the injuries  (and there have been a TON). They CAN control the turnovers. WAY too many of those. QB needs to understand that sometimes throwing the ball into the 5th row is really a good play.

Bottom line, they are talented but its not like past years where they can turn the ball over 4-5 times and expect to still beat a solid football team. They are good enough to not be perfect and win, but multiple mistakes will cost this team a win every time.

Mainly I wish they were running the ball better.

Frank the Tank, what is Unions record in region? Just starting to think about playoffs here, which is probably stupid the way the season is playing out, craziness in the east as always! Salisbury definetly is considered an out of region game and doesnt hurt The U, but what about The Mules? They appear to be considered a South team by d3football.com anyway. Is Union undefeated in the East Region?

haha i was about to get all pissy till i saw that post was from you upstate.

It's gotten to the point where you can't really get mad anymore, all I do is laugh at the team and laugh with the people making fun of them because they deserve every bit of criticism they get...

Shoulda kept Losman  ;)

He's really lighting it up in the UFL huh? ;)

He's well on his way to reestablishing himself as a legit NFL QB.  Wait a second, we're still waiting for it to happen the first time!

The Bills are going to end up with Edwards at QB again.  The FA's available next year suck, Campbell is the best of the FA's next year.  The draft is going to be filled with crappy spread offense QB's that will suck in the NFL (McCoy, Tebow and maybe Bradford) and unproven/raw underclassmen (Locker, Clausen, Mallett)...

Unless they trade for a guy it's Edwards all over again   :'(

The Eagles are going to have to let somebody go.....

Thoughts on today's game: (dlip will preface this by saying he respects the players, coaches, and officials but feels as a dedicated fan he can question/comment on any of the aforementioned)

-Hobart played a very good game from start to finish with one major mistake; fumble on Union's 2 yard line with the chance to go up 14-0. Being completely honest dlip feels if bart does not fumble there and scores they win. dlip felt officiating was ****ing atrocious and Bart got the worst of it. This bush league **** has got to stop. Where they get some of these officials from dlip does not know but all he knows is these athletes are out there busting their assess and deserve better officiating than dlip sees on a consistent basis at Frank Bailey.

Union was completely out coached on the defensive side of the ball period. dlip cannot remember a team, aside from Springfield, running so well against the U. This may not be reresented by total yards per scrimmage but it is definitely represented by time of possesion and #2's 100 yard game. ****ing Union run D was atrocious and the D coaching was even worse. dlip and co literally sat and before every Bart O play in the first half and said before the snap: "Handoff coming to #2." Sure ****ing enough, we were right. U D coaching should really be ashamed of themselves today and seriously needs to go back to the tool shed. Union D players need to finish tackles and stop overshooting. Missed tackles are becoming a pattern here and not a good one. In dlips mind the Union defensive players have too much ability and skill to not be helped out with making coaching adjusments.

Union O was very solid in the air (Gallo is a ****in stud). Yet even though Coney had a solid game the U running game was sporatic and not consistent in helping the O sustain drives. How many ****in times are you going to set up with no fullback? You have a SO fullback in Grassia who is ****in HUGE and a very good blocker. In the thrid Q especially Coney was left to dry as a result of poor O-line blocking and spread offensive sets. When taking time off the clock get in the I and run the ball down their throat with your FB guiding the way for the leagues most potent rusher to react and adjust to what he sees in front of him.

Overall dlip is estatic over the W but just didn't leave Frank Bailey feeling like this team, right now, can make a serious run to the playoffs without defending the run better, making better adjustments on D, and learning how to sustain drives on O. Maybe dlip is being critical but he is just looking the big picture. Overall his hat goes off to the U players who played hard and gave a great effort in the W.

10 point win over a big league rival. 2nd half shutout. You may be overreacting a little bit dlip. Not saying I dont agree with you....just that when good teams play each other, plays are going to be made on both sides of the ball. The U came out with a big W. They will continue to go to practice and work hard to improve those things that are frustrting you. Try to enjoy the win a little bit though guy, its a big one!

Cant be satisfied though. Gotta win out!

TGP's B&C's finally get over the hump and get their first win of the 09 LLPPFFL season.  Who knew that a last minute plug of Seneca Wallace and the Vikes D would eke out enough points to lick the frosty dippers?

pbr is going to deliver another beatdown to a catalina wine cooler team this week...saw the wallace change nice call...

U89 was just thinking.....U89 could be the only dude in all of Post Patterns who enjoyed his favorite teams thrilling last minute victories (Union & New England Patriots).

On the flip side of it, tough weekend to be a Bomber fan from Buffalo.....honestly, not a jab....just an interesting parallel.

Wow....how quickly one's world can be flipped 180 degrees...... >:(

u89, wow look at the score from our game. great win. congrats. and in the words of dlip ****!!!!!!!

Side rant.

Tim Tebow's a good kid and a great football player, but does anyone else think his rah rah attitude is going to be totally ridiculed in the pros?

Never say anything bad about God.

God wears Tim Tebow pajamas
