I love the new additions to the Hornets coaching staff. I cant wait to see what the new offensive coordinator Stan Hodgin will bring for the team. Its nice to see that Shenandoah is finally going to start playing football that's being played in the 21'st century. If SU can get anywhere near the 264 yards per game average that Emory & Henry had last season us fans in Shentel Stadium are going to be in for a treat. I know my wife will be happy. Its hard to get her to be happy at the games when all we see is run after run after run. Lets face it chicks dig the 20+ yard pass.

Congratulations to the Hornets new head coach Scott Yoder being introduced today. Welcome to Winchester along with his family. This is going to be a long road to recovery but I wish him all the best and hope, pray and look forward to watching things get turned around and watching this team become a force in the ODAC. I hope

Anyone know of what style of offense Yoder like to use when he was in charge of the offensive coordinator duties at Hobart? Im hoping its something that looks like football being played in the 21st century and not in 1955 where its run, run, and run that many Shenandoah fans have become used to the last ten years.

Hey D3football.com. Have you heard anything on the search for Shenandoah finding a new coach? When do you think a new head coach will be hired?

I wish Barnes all the best but in all reality this should had been done along time ago. I've always said just because SU is in div 3 it should not be an excuse not to win games. Mount Union is a great example and in the ODAC we have teams like W&L and Bridgewater year after year playing for a trip to the NCAA playoffs and giving those fans something to hope for. Its just so painful to know that by the 4th game of the season your team is out of the running for a playoff run. Hopefully the Hornets get someone that will turn this program around. Us fans need it along with the community.

Any Handen-Sydney fans wanting to see the game you can watch it at www.suhornets.com incase you did not know. The audio stinks under the watch video option so you might want to open up a second window to click on the audio as well. If you do it that way it will come in better.

D-Bat, you cannot be more correct when it comes to Shenandoah needing new leadership. Its sad and embarrassing how low this program is now. Look at the total amount of points scored. They are dead last in the ODAC and this is not because they moved to the ODAC. They were consistently one of the lower scoring teams in the USAC. One winning season in the last 8. SU year after year is trying to put some spin that they are just a year away from turning the page and every season its the same thing. Last year was a fluke. Hell I've never coached in my life but I can guarantee you that I will have one winning season in 8 years and I will do the job for free. Dont get me wrong people. I LOVE SU. I want to see this program be one of the best in the country and I dont see why it cant under the right leadership. Why cant us fans inspire to be a Mount Union of the South. Look at how bad Bridgewater was for years but once they got a new head coach in either 1999 or 2000 they have pretty much been one of the best teams in the ODAC. They always have a chance for the playoffs. So it can be done. I know Im rambling on but Im so frustrated.

Yesterday I asked the question of why the ODAC has a strict policy about night games. Turns out Pat was right on his theory. I received a email from Commissioner Bankston and he said the ODAC has a rule where all games must start at 1:00 on Saturdays unless both schools agree to change the time of the game. He said for the rule to change where the home team can choose to play at what time the AD's have to vote on it. I don't see that happening any time soon however until more schools get lights. Like I wrote yesterday I just hope something can change because its become a tradition for SU fans to have the games under the lights and not have to compete against Handley High. This rule is really going to hurt attendance numbers for the Hornets.

I hope to see more night conference games in the future. Its really going to put a dent in how many games I'm going to see this season. The person that told me was a pretty high up official with SU athletics both as a coach and in the front office but I feel weird posting his name on here. He told me this back in June or early July. Maybe things can get worked out because like me he was concerned with going up against the high school John Handley when it came to attendance. I did email the ODAC commissioner about this asking his reason on the subject. If I get a response I will pass it along. Maybe teams like R. Macon and Guilford, like it was stated earlier will agree to play night games.......... I can only hope

This is Shenandoah's first year in the ODAC as we all know and I was told over the summer that SU will not be allowed to have any night conference home games anymore due to the ODAC not allowing them. Anyone know why the ODAC has such big rules about playing under the lights? This is really going to hurt SU with attendance because now they have to go up against a very popular high school (John Handley) here in Winchester on Saturdays.

And to what quote are you refering to?
The one that yourself, abnrgr and USA-South_Fan were referring to by Larry Gibbs.

No player that is on a team on any level and has only won 4 games in the last 3 seasons should never say a statement like that.

I'm looking forward for SU to move into the ODAC. I wish it was next year that they were doing this but I can understand that they need time to make up the schedules. SU is going to have to do something however in terms of adjusting to the high octane offences that the ODAC traditionally has each year. I do love the idea of having a 2 division east/west format for basketball. The I 81 idea would be a great idea.
