Hasanova
9-1 and turning in gear is a tough pill.

Hasa good luck on a Washington and Lee QB getting sick from too much chesse and wine at the next tailgate or his bow tie is a little tight. Catholic laying on 49 is a little crazy too

What a season for you guys :)

Well Hasa. I was hoping your Quakes start the slaughtering again. If they go 9-1; could they get in with not winning the conference? Of course the best outcome would be a 9-1 record with a 8-2 by the bow tie and cheese boys. While I personally like the atmosphere and the urbane nature of the W&L campus and their properly attired coeds (no hippies) I still hope for your football salvation.

I guess that is a paradox of sorts but Duke scoring more today against Army then they did in their first b-ball scrimmage is one too.  ??? ???. Oh who cares. Good luck POPs

I'd be shocked to see a 9-1 and 2nd ODAC Quaker team getting into playoffs based on their OOC schedule.  I don't think that will happen.

So I can assume that if GC-Q goes on a rip and goes 9-1 and the Bow Ties go 10-0 or 9-1 there will not be a chance for both of them. Correct?  ANybody think this is  not feasible. My Uncle Vito is not happy when I go below the VEG.

Great game today at HSC. Obviously I'm very disappointed in the loss.  EH and WL are both 2/0 in ODAC but WL's wins over GC and HSC put them in the drivers seat. Some how WL needs to lose 2 games of their next 5 and HSC has to win out for the Tigers to win ODAC. I think the Tiger's best hopes for a 3peat lie in a tie situation. I just don't see WL losing 2 games going out. Congrats to the Generals for another big win.

I bet you tasted vomit in the back of your mouth after typing that last sentence? ;)

Well Hasanova after all the "coachspeak" from jknezek (can't tackle, we can't etc etc) you would think your Quakes will rock in Lexington or they only have 11 players walking; he is trying to relax you.  He is trying the oldest trick doing the "down and out" and then exploding on you. :)

As someone who does not have a dog in the fight I hope everyone walks off the field.  :)

I just woke up and realized football is about....well good for you Hasa. 2-0 is not too bad so far.

I guess the allure (to me anyway) of culling these schools from conferences as tied to ODAC and USA. The Carolina Conference created with only NC football schools and the Virginia Conference would have their potential of big time if they had all the VA schools in a VA conference, I am sure SOMEONE has talked about the VA conf. many times before. Just had my last surgery this past week so I should be ready for the summer.  Goof luck to everyone out of the conferences.  :)

If I'm not mistaken, the initial reports were from an article from the school newspaper regarding a father that was upset his son didn't get some money knocked off his bill as promised by coaches and E&H was holding his diploma until he paid.

Another "if I'm not mistaken": I believe the guy ran a recruiting website and is one of those fathers who thought his son's S%^t doesn't stink. You know, the father at the ball games and practices we all want to smack the hell out of..

He (paterfamilias Dorton/Norton-- whatever the last name is) had to of known E&H was D3. I believe Justin Timberlake said it best. Cry Me A River.

All of this may be true, and it may be what is referred to here in the original link:

"A trustee, a booster and the head football coach were allowed to be involved in the financial aid packaging for two incoming football student-athletes in 2012."

but that doesn't change what else is in the original link:

"Additionally, the school considered athletics criteria when awarding nearly $80,000 in scholarships to 27 student-athletes in nine of the school's sports."

That's not one kid and one irritating father, that's pure D3 rule breaking on a pretty consistent scale.
Very true, but I imagine the father was the whistle blower.

This is not FSU or free shoes u. I think we are being too harsh. I know it happens at two other schools for sure. But I am not a dick and rat out somebody else. They normally get theirs in the end. BUTThe are limits. And my limits are most things are shades. Did he get some chicks, strip joint passes, and/or  a car. He may got some tuition knocked off for making a certain GPA. I think E&H is being excoriated too harshly.

So when is the first BBQ at BC?

The NCAA are such a sanctimonious lot of self righteous hypocrites. Some kids gets some help and they go nuts. Never believe initial reports.

Any thing exciting someone is just ready to "bust telling it". (as we say down in Havelock NC) The socioeconomic, educational, entertainment, sports, mecca of the coast.  :-\ Not to mention the attempt at the 4th straight state championship. That last part was for Admiral Papi who is a East Carteret Alum... :)

Uhhhh....Sorry ;)

Sorry to butt in but I think the comments concerning the CC''s caught my fading eyes. I taught at Carteret CC back in the day early 1998-2000 freshman Physical science and Biology (during the summer months only). At that time a CC had gone from a place for some pre-4 year college work for a few young and a place for continuing education for older adults. By 2001 it was overrun with kids who had failed to graduate from High school. it was like an extension of high school with problems not seen at this level before. Now with certain 'leaders" suggesting EVERYONE should  go to CC that will turn it into a high school without any constraints or control.

The point being CC will not be something to strive to get ahead but another place to keep them off the streets. The 2nd order of effect as previously alluded to by JK and Tigerfan will be a enrollment drain from the 4 year liberal arts school such as GC-Q. "Look maw I am in HS level II for NOTHING!" well nothing if you do not pay taxes eh?

Again the loss of revenue will make the "liberal sports are not needed" herd to come out quickly lopping off anywhere 100-200 students. They are so short sighted that they will wonder how they lost their multi cultural look so quickly. "OMG we just booted 75 -100 minoirties" What to do?

The place where I am working on a masters does cheetah flips when someone suggested they get rid of their (No BS) female bowling team and the 3 person female golf team. It's a nightmare.
