Looks like a change at F&M.  Not completly unexpected though.

Will be anxious to hear how it turns out.  Will have to wait till we get home to find out.
Was hoping they would announce the CC scores at PSU, but didn't happen.  Must have been an oversight!!

Looked like it was an exciting game vs McDaniel last week.  Wanted to go but ended up going to PSU-Purdue.  Sounds like Kyle really stepped up, and the receivers as well.
Another wierd year in the CC.  I think it was a good move to add Juniata and Moravian.
Going to be a tough one again this week vs Ursinus.
I'll be at the PSU-Wisconsin game.  That should be a good one too.

F&M loses to Union on a 4th down, 45 yard hail mary pass for a TD with 40 seconds left in the game.

Regarding F&M's defense being average, they have shut out the opposition two times so far.  Although they give up some yards, I would say they are more than just average.
Of course I've only seen them three times this year.  You may have seen them more.

On the d3football.com website, under recent press releases, there is a link to Union game notes with F&M.
In Union's game notes there is a statistics comparison between Union and F&M.
Union's stats are pretty impressive.  The Dips will need to bring their "A" game.

1)  I can't believe I missed Doug as he was a tremendous asset last year and sorely missed.  Three key players lost does not help.

3)  Take a look at the "hurries" number.  (Can't remember if it was the Hobart or CM game that sack/hurries were on over 25% of pass attempts.)  Could be the opposition pass defense, line, or holding the ball too long?  Line has improved.

4)  Agreed not having Wagner and Freiler hurts.  I believe alot the the receivers got playing time last year.  Do not see many of short catch, big runs after the catch.

5)  We disagree somewhat on this.  Thru the first five games Harner has rushed 49 times.  Last year he had 48 total rushes, total.  While I think there are times for him to run, it has to take a toll.  The tight end has 4 catches, and hasn't been thrown to much more than that (according to the "play by play").  He probably has the best hands on the team.  Not nearly the amount of sprint out throws for 5,6,7 yards as last year, which resulted in second and short yardage.
Of course if the players execute the plays called, it would be a non-issue.
It's easy to point fingers from the stands, however I believe there are some questionable calls.

Agree that turnovers have been a BIG problem.

Guess it's just frustration.  It's a great group of guys and want them to do well.

Haven't seen Union, but it sounds like their offense is impressive.  M-berg had well over 300 yards of offense against them, but just over 200 against F&M.
Can F&M's defense stand up to Union?  It depends how long they have to be on the field, which if dependent once again on how the offense does.

I can't believe F&M's offense is averaging over 100 yards per game LESS in total offense than last year.  The offense essentially lost two players from last year, a running back and a wide receiver.  They return a quarterback who was on the all-conference team the last two years (1st team and 2nd team).  Thru five games, the running game is a little bit over last years yardage, although on a few more carries.  Which means the passing game is the issue.
I know that when the quarterback is given the time, he can hit the receivers.  So what's the problem???
Do they miss #2 and #17 that much?
Is the quarterback just having an off year?
Is the line playing up to their abilities?
Are the receivers not running proper routes?
Is it the play calling?

Amish... your thoughts?

Had a chance to read the entire thing.  Sounds like it was written out of frustration.
I think everyone would agree though that the team is not playing up to expectations, especially the offense, even with the recent victories.
I've seen improvement each week, hopefully it will continue.

Regardless of the online quote that Pat noted in "Around the Region", F&M's defense the last two game has been very good.  Considering the past two opposing team's passing attacks' have been suspect, it will be interesting to see how they do against Hopkins, going up against a good quarterback and receivers.
If F&M can control the mistakes on offense they have been making, it should be a good game.

And one that was dropped in the end zone.
Would really like to see the play callers use the tight end more, which would open it up for the other receivers.

Would like the outcome on the F&M vs. Muhlenberg game to be as you predicted, however I think the score is going to be much lower, say 14-7 or 10-7.
I think special teams play is going to be a big factor in the outcome of the game.

Although only 6 points, it was a 100% turnaround from last week.  O-line really stepped it up.  Put the offense in position where there could easily have been more points. It will come.
Defense did a great job against the wing-t.
Was surprised at Mellon's lack of passing attack.

McDaniel is tough to spell, however I remember how it was when I had my first beer.

Can anyone tell "Reb" must be from another conference????
