HSU offense is moving the ball at will.  The problem is their defense.  Not good.  Way too undisciplined. 4-5 unsportsmanlike penalties.  2 of them lead to touchdowns.

Well, it appears that the HSU/McMurry rivalry has swung to a new low!!!  It appears that our friends at McMurry are desperate to go out of DIII with a win against their cross town rivals.  They have apparently banned the World Famous Cowboy Band from performing at the football game this weekend.  Digging up some little used NCAA rule that an opposing team's band cannot perform.

See the article from the Reporter-News.....

WOW!!!  As a former member of the Cowboy Band, I fondly remember some the the antics that would occur during HSU/McMurry game week.  Disappointing that a school would resort to this, especially since this will probably be the last time that they play!!!  Way to go McMurry!!!

I just saw this in the SA paper.....UTSA agreed to show their last 5 home games on the new Longhorn Network.  This includes the McMurry game.....

Like UMHB has HSU's number, I think Wesley has UMHB's number.  Too bad.  Another disappointing end to UMHB's season.  It looked like UMHB was pretty unstoppable.

This was my first McM/HSU game. I enjoyed it. I tought that HSU had a great crowd, a rowdy band. It was fun to watch. The tomahawk chop was a little classless and since your not playing the Indians, it was actually kind of stupid. Mumme cussing, not a big deal, never been around a coach at any level that did not in the heat of the momnet. The punching of Warren in the stomach did happen and there is no room in football for that as well as the eye gouging by HSU players, I am really surprised by the dirty play of what I thought was a class organization. HSU was the better team on the field, but left me wondering about the lack of class.

Keep wondering!  I've been around the block a few times and I've known HSU's coaches, traditions, aspirations, goals, etc...for over 50 years!   This is preposterous!   Unless I saw it, or the player said it happened, I highly doubt it REALLY took place.  Coack Keeling would NOT like it...and he certianly would not condone it!   HSU is proud of the Sports Programs!  HSU has a history of accomplishments that any college would be envious of!  In short, HSU does not have to resort to such behavior.  I"m proud of the Cowboy Band...they are sometimes a little unorthodox,  but they are just having fun with no maliciousness intended.  It is their "nature"...and we love them.

Well said dsc!!!  As a former member of the World Famous Cowboy Band, that is our nature.  We do push the envelope, and I know we can rub people the wrong way, but we're just out there having a good time.  No harm is meant by any of it!!!

I HEARD MCMURRY GOT SOME GOOD TALENT THIS YEAR FOR FOOTBALL. MAYBE WE WILL GET BACK TO WINNING YEARS WITH MUMME? DOES ANYONE KNOW THE NEW RECRUITS?

Is there a reason you type in all caps?  It's very in your face and It's a good way to have people discard your post completely.

Are we a little sensitive??  Who cares how he types??  He obviously was not being a jerk.

Forgive me if this has already been posted.....

Nice write up in the Dave Campbell's Texas Football 50th Anniversary on Jimmie Keeling.  Listed him as one of the greatest coaches over the last 50 years.  They also mention the "Mississippi Miracle" as one of the best football games.

Anyway, lots of fun stuff to read about Texas football:  High School, College, and Pro

Why do I love D III football?  It is easy.  UMHB vs. UWW in the Semi-Finals in Belton with the winner playing for the National Championship.  UMHB needs to remember they not only represent the CRU family, but all the ASC, and the South Region in this HUGE game.

I cannot believe that in 10 years we are playing for the right to go to the Stagg in our home stadium.  UWW is worthy of our respect, and we must play the best game of the year to win.

I have been out of pocket for the last couple of days, but I want to weigh in on the HSU/UMHB banter for a moment.  I do not believe that UMHB is as prepared for this game against UWW without the close, hard fought game with HSU.  The Cowboys are not just a rival game they are formidable in their ability to play well and yes, win big games.  To my fellow CRU fans, we must not become arrogant jerks, and forget the road it took to get to where we are playing in the semis this weekend.

On of the greatest lessons I ever learned in football was how the Mt. Union fans treated UMHB fans in Alliance.  With grace and humility, and then the mystic of the game was unbelievable.  They were even gracious in defeat.  CRU faithful I appeal to our honor code, to be honest with ourselves.  We beat a very good HSU team, and that has prepared us for now.

So do not kid yourself, HSU will not go away and hide, they have already begun thinking about next year. By the way, we need to focus on Whitewater, they seem to have our number right now. (0-3 in the series) Time to focus in on the business at hand,  having the Warhawks on our mind.

My opinion only, but we must remain humble my friends, hungry, yet humble.

Nice words, Cru96!!!

Good luck Cru on Saturday!!!  Ought to be a hell of a game!!!

A break here and a break there, UMHB would be sitting at home like HSU.  UMHB pulled it out!!!

But today, it was obvious....W&J did not give enough respect to UMHB......just look at the final score!!!   Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

Despite all of the crazy talk by some posters....I'm very happy that UMHB is representing the ASC so well.  As it looks right now, UMHB is clicking on all cylinders and have a darn good chance of winning the whole thing.  I hope they can do it!!!

HA HA....are you refering to this year or the previous 3 years?Huh A break here and a break there....HSU fans never seem to amaze me. LOL Great showin by the Cru today. Keep up the good work guys.

yessir....apparently you cannot read what I posted.....I gave UMHB all of the credit for beating HSU.....they have had HSU's number for several years now, but it was much, much closer this season....so back off and pay attention to what I wrote.

My guess is that Pat, Keith and Ryan are not going to pick UMHB over any of the remaining teams!!!  Nobody respects UMHB, they all underestimate the power of the Cru.  Who cares if we beat one of the final 8 teams by 56 points.  NOBODY RESPECTS THE CRU!!!!!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

QuoteGood luck UMHB go out there and beat the Presidents (Dont even know if I am allowed to say that  Cheesy)
Oh and its also very exciting to see that Keith, Pat and Ryan all picked UMHB to win first time this year in the playoffs we have had all three predictions in our favor. Thanks for the love, maybe UMHB can win the hearts of many more this weekend.

It stinks being ONLY ranked in the Top 5 most of the year.......and still get no respect.  Sucks for UMHB!!!   Wink Huh

Use whatever you need to pump yourself up!!!  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Kickhoe, do you think that he would have that inferiority complex about lack of love and respect, if his diploma had said Hardin-Simmons University?     Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy

GO CRU!!!  I love to beat W&J!
I have one that says Hardin Simmons and I thought they got tons of respect Ralph.  Grin

Like Toby, mine says HSU and I thought they had a darn good season.  A break here and a break there, UMHB would be sitting at home like HSU.  UMHB pulled it out!!!

But today, it was obvious....W&J did not give enough respect to UMHB......just look at the final score!!!   :-[ :-[ :-[
