What kind of job were you training for?  Turnip farming?  But wow that brings back some memories as I had to drive through Greene on the way to Ithaca.  Thats the place iwith the two roads going through the middle of town and parking on each side right?  Bainbridge, Sydney, Triangle, Whitney Point, Caroline, Lisle......man what a trip!

I read a book on Rockefeller once and he actually grew up (or was born) in one of those real small towns around there. (richford I just looked up).  I bed Richford looks the same today as it did in 1839.

HA...    I was training to sell electric forklifts for The Raymond Corp (owned by Toyota).  They are the biggest employer of Greene.  You're correct about the parking on the sides of the street.  SF thought he was on set at Back to the Future -- only smaller.  Funnier still is the bowling alley (4 lanes -- the bar was larger) and "Airport Bar" just outside of town (had to take a dirt road to it).   The hotel felt like it was set in the 1800s

I'm lucky I was only there for 4 months.

4 months there had to feel like eternity....or maybe everyday was groundhog day....

George Raymond was a trustee of Alfred University. Were it not for his "family" business, there'd be no green whatsoever in Greene. Pep doesn't recall whether Greene has any traffic lights. Alfred has one.

New acquaintances here in Saxonville sometimes ask Pep where he's from.
When Pep answers "Alfred," they often reply, "No, really, where are you really from?"
So Pep tells them he's "serving a life sentence" in Alfred.
Pep is just happy he occasionally gets weekends off for good behavior.

This is an example of how we've lost our way. Title's mean more than anything to people... Ridiculous.

As a former military officer and Southerner, I and those of us who grew up in the South were taught to address our elders and people in authority with the respectful title of sir or ma'am to honor their dignity as a human being.

Senator Boxer may have relieved the General of any sense of hypocrisy in addressing the Senator as ma'am.

Her being a Senator is a fact.

Her having human dignity worthy of acknowledgment by this courteous officer and gentleman is what she has opened for debate.

What do you expect, she's a liberal from California?

Here's an LLPP story if I ever saw one....

http://www.boston.com/news/local/rhode_island/articles/2009/06/18/ri_tries____again____to_outlaw_indoor_prostitution/

It's funny, a good friend of mine lives in Santa Clara Cali and says this **** goes on all the time in the Japenese massage parlors near his apartment. I once asked him, "Todd have you gotton a massage lately?" his answer, "no comment Lipp."

The Rev has to defend the honor of Chenango County and go on record that he thinks Greene is a swell town.  Very pretty and they are fortunate to be much closer to Binghamton than Norwich is.  Slightly more action is an easy drive away.

Also, a high school friend of The Rev owns the pizza place there.

3 holes in, and Tags has already had it with these clowns saying "get in the hole" ...

These losers are the same ones who still guffaw when someone mentions the planet "Uranus".  Even my sixth graders got tired of that one after 1,813 times.

Worse yet, these guys go back to the bar later and laugh like Beavis and Butthead about words like grass, hole, and morning dew.  It must be hell being 40 and thinking it's cool to act 14.  It just doesn't work.
