Glad to hear from eyes on the scene that Calvin was playing some good D.  I was really wishing that were the case, but also suspect AQ just had a mediocre shooting night which can happen.  Just listening to the play by play (and post game) one gets the feeling that Kruis will be seeing lots more time.

Calvin had 38 rebounds to AQ 40.  AQ had 22 turnovers to Calvin's 19.  AQ shot 29% to Calvin 41%.  Calvin 20% on 3's (4 of 20), and AQ 13%.

Rodts played 30 minutes, scored 7 points, and got 2 rebounds.  I know he is a steady influence on the floor, but sometimes one wishes he would assert himself more.

Considering the players Hope was missing last night it really sounds like they handled the situation reasonably well.  It is no small accomplishment to hang with an experienced team with all their players. :)

It's difficult to provide meaningful and realistic analysis of a basketball game based on Doug Wentworth's play-by-play.

BogeyMan

I'm sorry on the name.  When I saw Peter play at the end of last season I felt he was as good as any player in the MIAA.  There is a lot of rumors saying he is ineligible and not injured.  Any truth to him being ineligible?

He's not ineligible

Bluffton 65 Kzoo 62

Kzoo fought back late and took the lead under a minute to go, Bluffton regained the lead and last Kzoo shot misses.  Bluffton wraps it up at the line.  Joe Prepolec with a solid 20 point outing.

UM-Dearborn 70   Adrian 60

UM-Dearborn moves to 2-7 on the season, sadly both wins vs MIAA teams Alma and Adrian.  This is an ominous loss for the Bulldogs.  Mosley with 23 for Adrian, Doug Sharples 20 for UMD

What could/should have been a good day for the league has gone south fast.

Hopester

Hope up 24 midway through second half. Cruising to an easy victory, with no livestats its hard to know exactly what the stats are, but it sounds like they are hot from the field, shooting well from open shots.

Hope: 71
Aquinas: 47
Its a great day to be a Dutchman!

Looks like the tourney has a clear cut fourth place team.

I didn't say it would be easy, but starting on Monday they have some time to get it done.  Provided of course they make it a priority.  I also understand they may need to travel every other year, but think the "in region" games are worth that.  Now if AQ, and CU were sure wins every year I might be talked into going with the W.

If neither Calvin nor Hope make "in region" games a priority we will have this same conversation every year.

North Park actually took an overnighter this weekend before playing at Fontbonne today. Since NPU head coach Paul Brenegan didn't want to have his players spend five and a half hours on a bus before playing a Saturday afternoon game, he had them stay in a hotel in St. Louis last night. Given considerations of budget and competition level, I'm sure that he'd have jumped at the chance to play Hope or Calvin rather than Fontbonne this weekend, even if the Vikings were the team that had to travel.

Trine 72 Heidelberg 67

Trine led by double-digits for much of the game, H'berg was able to cut into the lead late and make Trine make a couple FT's to seal it.

Scott Rogers 21, Ian Jackson 12, Noah Veach 11, Neil Smith 10

Don't look now but Trine is 4-1 its only loss in OT in its first game of the season.

Hope 92 Aquinas 69....  and that's pretty much the scope of my knowledge on this one.  Except I'll add this is a rare win for Hope at Aquinas College.

Flying Dutch Fan

Hope shot 61% from the floor (36/59) and 61% from 3 (11/18). You'll win a lot of games shooting like that.

Logan Neil lead the Dutchmen with 23 points in 14 minutes of play. Just awesome to have a son lead the way for his fathers first coaching win!!

Thanks, you just helped me make a point.  I don'r understand why this "in region" thing is so hard for coaches, but us fans get it right away. :D :D :D

Articulate and profound understatement.

Looks like the tourney has a clear cut fourth place team.

And now it is all clear cut.
1) Calvin
2) Cornerstone
3) Hope
4) Aquinas

Way to go, baby knights!
