We've been sitting on page 2,999 all day!

This 2.5 week gap of games for Hope is awful!  :(

After three weekends of tournaments, it does feel a little weird to have a free weekend...   :o

I was looking at Hope's Massey rating, and I found it interesting that Hope has only two games left that aren't greater than a 90% certainty at victory: at Adrian and at Calvin. Hope has a 91% certainty to beat Marietta.
Its a great day to be a Dutchman!

It looks as though Hope just escaped a bad mistake by the skin of their teeth. Selecting the right person as the next college president makes a huge difference to a college. You need someone with wisdom, grace, and especially, good judgment. But, sometimes you just don't know a person until he is really tested.

Hope had one candidate remaining for the next college president, a candidate everyone was enthusiastic about. However, that candidate revealed in the 11th hour his very bad judgment by withdrawing his name from Hope's search when Calvin selected him as their sole candidate for president.

Phew! Saved!

Marietta just got their 1st team All-Great Lakes (4th team All-American) player, Trevor Halter, back from injury this past Saturday (he came off the bench). I don't think he had played all year up until this last game. They'll have three games with him to tune up until Hope, including a tilt with D1 Ohio (THE State University) tonight. I'd expect that 91% to fall a bit by the time the game actually begins (although I think Hope will win it).

One of the many thousand reasons small college basketball is awesome.  Taylor University's Silent Night game this past Friday.

Adrian 70 Defiance 64

Adrian had a 14 point lead with about 4 minutes to play, DC cut it down to 4 in the final moments.  Adrian went on a 25-9 run to take control of the game about midway through the second half.  Looks like a pretty evenly played game

Adam Meier 17, Sean Gallant 15, Eric Lewis 14, Cody Barnes 12.

I am assuming that the Whitworth that Calvin is playing over the holiday break is the same school where the new university president is coming from.  If so, that's a pretty interesting coincidence.   ???

It is one and the same, and my guess is that Dr. Le Roy will still be donning the crimson and black of the Pirates for this one.  My better guess is that he won't make the five hour drive over the mountains to Seattle to see the game, but more power to him if he does!

I find it somewhat surprising that Calvin would select someone with a PC(USA) background.

(and FWIW, Whitworth has football)
