My supersweet D3 useless trivia of the day is that the University of Chicago has won more Big Ten Championships in all sports than Purdue and Northwestern.......still.

ronk

We got to work this trivia into whatever conversation inspires it.

It was a factoid on the bigscreen at the stadium today, I had to share it and could think of no other completely random board than this one. ::)

Nice!  Western has a chance to knock 2 teams off this list the first 5 day of the season: we play @ Franklin & Marshall Sunday then home against Albertus next Tuesday the 20.

You forgot we played Penn state-Harrisburg first before F&M, so it's at least 1 win there.

PS-Hbg got some favorable press last year, so I wouldn't count this as a win, automatically.

Question:

Perennial winless (vs. D3) contender Philly Bible changed its name to Cairn University.

If they have a player revolt after another lousy season, would it be a Cairn Mutiny??

/ducks

That presumes that someone would actually Cairn enough to revolt.

/gooses

Their nickname in June was the Crimson Eagles, they now call themselves the Highlanders. I wonder if they considered the Terriers as a possibility.

Highlanders?   I thought they'd be the Carpenters....        'ba da bang'.....

Don't know if there were any teams nicknamed the Highlanders in D3 last year but this year we have at least 2 of them.
In addition to the aboved name Cairn Highlanders, Houghton College is now a member of the Empire 8 conference, as they transition over from the NAIA. They also are called the Highlanders.

Gregory Sager

Long-time D3 member MacMurray is also called the Highlanders.

Thanks Greg. I knew there was another team but couldn't recall who they were at the time of my post. I also figured someone would let me know. I kind of expected it to be Ralph Turner or you that would be that someone. ;D

Day job!

CCNy picks up a big win tonight over Vaughn, dropping them from the winless list in their first opportunity.  You know it had to be someone.
