I'll be watching...but then again I'm a Purple Raider who's made his way to Texas.

I'd agree with your analysis but also add that if UWW controls the line and runs well up the middle, it will be a tough game for Mount Union.  It will not only open up the passing game but I have a feeling that Behrendt (sp?) is much more shifty back there than people are talking about.  I suspect a few times he'll be able to slip out of a tackle or sack and find a play downfield while the defense is creeping up.

I still think Mount Union will take it, but I think it wont be easy at all.

Ralph Turner

Just bias, but I think that Western half of the bracket was much tougher this season than the UMU side.

Anyone watching the game tonight?

After watching Mount last week, and seeing UWW struggle more, I think Mount wins 31-24. Of course, UWW had the tougher trip, but Mount just looks dominant. If UWW can contain the QB, they have a shot, but he is so dynamic, it's crazy to think he didn't play up a level.

No. Too bored of the rematch. But like most football games, this will be won on the lines. UWW has better lines in my opinion. 31-25...

Well, that's another season in the books.  Congrats to UWW.  Now the dreaded time of wait and anticipation is among us as we all look forward to 2015.

Hope everyone has a great holiday season!

Well, after looking at the two games this last weekend, UMHB has a long way to go. As good as we've been, as GREAT as we've been, we have a long row to hoe, and I wonder if it can be done. I hope it can, I believe, somewhere, that it can, but seeing those scores and the way the games were won, I don't know.

I believe that one of the hidden issues I've seen is heart. Just being around campus and hearing a handful of players talk about not wanting to be in the TLU game because of how crazy it was, guys pawning their rings for money, and guys in the weight room side shuffling some of the coaches as they have come through the building when asked about working out, and not to mention losing two defensive starters in two playoff losses due to team rules is CRAZY! I know this isn't all of the players, but to see the veins of a disheartened attitude running through a great program scares me, and I wonder who the vocal leaders are? Do they see these things, do they lead off season workouts, are they striving to be a UWW or UMU? I'm sure there are some, but for this team to get to another, win one, or have a streak like these two teams, the culture will have to change.

I hope they watched the UMU game or UWW game this weekend and will watch the Stagg this weekend because something needs to change, and I hope their eyes are opened to the needs that we have.
Respectfully,

"Long row to hoe?"  A FG loss to Linfield which was driving for the tying score against UWW?

Why, Darrell Royal could not match that understatement!   LOL

If UWW wins it all, I project that UMHB will be ranked no lower than 6th in the country, and maybe 4th.

UWW, UMU, Linfield, Wartburg, Wesley (with a big question mark coming out of the "northeast" bracket)...
Anyone else?
Congratulations to the CRU.

I can't argue with their placement in the final poll.  Wartburg and John Carroll are both deserving to be in the top 5.  I am a little surprised that Wesley dropped to 7, but I can only guess the Mount game played a big part in that.

I know this is the wrong board, but congrats to TLU for finishing at 19.  They are a good team and will prove to be another challenge to the Cru next season.

Former Mary Hardin-Baylor Offensive Line Standout Nate Menkin posted this photo to his Facebook Tuesday morning.

I have not found any details on if its practice squad or main roster yet but it looks like he is at least getting his foot back in the door of the NFL.

The Ravens waived defensive end Zach Thompson from the practice squad and signed more reserve offensive linemen: tackle Nate Menkin and guard Joe Unga. Unga was with the Ravens during training camp.

I was happy to see TLU's end of season ranking too.  I hope that TLU can keep their program's trajectory moving upwards and TLU and UMHB build a good rivalry. Rivalries make football that much more fun.

Merry Christmas, friends.

(I am getting tired of all of the Christmas songs that don't mention Jesus tho'.  Was Deck the Halls one of the first "secular" Christmas songs?)

Absolutely.  I don't know how good it is for the players when they destroy most of their opponents during the regular season.  I want to see more games where my favorite team gets tested... all the while becoming a stronger and smarter team because of it.  Rivalries go a long way in making these things happen.  Here's to hoping both the Cru and Bulldogs can benefit from this series.
