Lumbercat, feel free to layout your prediction of the most significant games each week on the race for the NESCAC title.  If a pre-season favorite loses a game or two, the list would obviously change significantly.

Colby Offensive Coordinator Shea Dwyer will be announced soon as new OC at Hamilton. Puzzling move as Dwyer had been said to be on the doorstep as Cosgrove successor.
Colby WR coach Otha Yarborough is the new Offensive Coordinator at Misericordia.

100% agree Lumber! One of the great things about this league are the historical rivalries: Big Little Game, Rocking Chair, Battle of the Birds, CBB, The Little 3, etc. Obviously, all the games count, but those traditional rivalry games are pretty special. Outside of those games last year: Colby beat Wesleyan in OT, Wesleyan nipped Middlebury for their lone blemish, Hamilton surprised Tufts in 4OT, Bowdoin shut out Williams, Middlebury knocked off Trinity for the Bants only loss. That makes the league better top to bottom. But until the teams that have traditionally not been in the upper stack make it happen, you have to go with the chalk. For reference, here are NESCAC records from 1992 through 2023 (when NESCAC only play began):

Trinity: 205-49 (.807)
Williams 175-77-2 (.689)
Amherst 171-82-1 (.673)
Middlebury 162-92 (.638)
Wesleyan 142-112 (.559)
Colby 111-142-1 (.437)
Tufts 110-143-1 (.433)
Bowdoin 69-184-1 (.272)
Hamilton 66-188 (.260)
Bates 56-198 (.220)

Still hearing about unrest at Colby surrounding Cosgrove future in the program. Any Colby guys out there who might care to weigh in on this along with the recent resignation of the Mule OC and other coaching departures?

Charlie

This is sad. I know the record does not show it but watching a Colby game they play hard and have some talent. They always seem to have the surprise game where they pull one out. Colby seems to have invested a great deal in athletics but don't seem to want to make this switch. Meanwhile good Coaches are going elsewhere.I think this will be another year where they pull out a game surprising people and then loose the ones they should be winning against bottom tier teams.

16-29 with that beautiful $200mm facility and lots of admissions support must equal wins at some juncture. Who are they beating out for recuits?

Well done but how does that not include the brand new athletic complex? Big miss. No mention of CBB rivalries or academics.

Believe the new facility was still under construction when that piece was done.

That is fair, wouldn't you update it?

The truth 101

I know each team is only supposed to have 10 coach led spring practices and saw that Amherst posted on Twitter today was their first day. I know around the league other teams started weeks ago. Was just wondering if anyone knows why the mammoths chose to start spring ball so late.

Yes to both points...vid is old...& I'd update some version of it to showcase the changes.

Colby has now lost 3 coaches: Offensive Coordinator; WR/TE Coach; CB/Safeties/Special Teams Coach. Moral is pretty poor from the rumors on the street, with more coaches looking to leave.  Cos needs to step down because of his health, and won't for some reason. His offense that he mandates that they run is more predictable than a Pop Warner team. They have a ton of talent but the coaching has let them down the past 3 years. The record has only gotten worse while programs like Bowdoin have turned it the other way.

Wow- when Cosgrove took the Colby job I thought the Mules would be a relative force in the NESCAC. Essentially the Colby Football program has vastly underachieved compared with the advances they have made in other sports throughout the Mules Athletic program.
AD Wisecup has done a fantastastic job but ironically, his most lauded hire, the Cosgrove deal, has failed. Jack has got to retire for the second and final time.
