Agreed on 76 being the dress limit but I thought there was discussion on the roster limit being in the 90's this year. Not sure if anything official was determined

Welcome to the NESCAC - that's what they do in Hartford, nothing new there. They do things a little differently in the Coop but winning overrides a lot of negatives and they have the rings to prove it.

That it does sir, that it does.

Teams are posting their 2028 recruits.  I looked through many of the hudl films for Trinity on twitter and they have a few who stood out to me.  Caveat, I did not watch all of them. I was impressed with their QB from I think Suffield, I WR from I think Stepinac, NY and an LT from Hotchkiss I think. If I recall correctly they had about 5 safeties and 5 receivers in their incoming class.

The number of incoming recruits for Trinity is pretty much on par with recent years. If anything, it's slightly on the smaller side for them.

2023 - 32
2022 - 33
2021 - 29
2020 - 31
2019 - 29

As usual it's mostly MA and CT kids with some NY/NJ sprinkled-in and one each from CA, FL, PA, and RI. They're certainly bringing in a ton of receivers (8!). Trinity must like their QB room as they have more incoming kickers than quarterbacks. It looks like no first-year cornerbacks but four new safeties for the Bants. Here's the full class:

I'm no scout, but the hudl highlights for Josh Woodford, RB from Pingry School and Julian Pollard, DL from St. George's were fun to watch. You can also see a bit of a nasty streak in Miles Clay from Suffield Academy. You don't see a ton of NESCAC guys at 6'5", 330 so if he can play then watch out.

Potentially tough situation for Trinity and Lord Jeffrey in the Coop this year.

Supposed big time D1 transfer QB coming in. The Zebrowski kid is a very talented QB who is staying with the program for a 5th year after waiting in the wings for 4 years for his shot. If the transfer gets the nod not sure how this plays out for the program and the locker room.

Gotta go with your best, but waiting to see how they manage this one.
QB controversies are a coaching challenge at any level.

Having two good options at quarterback sounds like a pretty good problem to have if you ask me.

If no resentment develops for the program bringing a transfer to replace a 4 year QB who stayed for a fifth year you are correct. For a young QB or recruit in the program it might become a negative.
Winning a ring for carrying a clipboard on the sidelines might not be a great scenario for many young, talented, competitive QBs.

If you open up the transfer door on the D3 level it can be a little different than D1.

In 2004, after quarterbacking the Bantams to an undefeated season, Josh Pitcher was forced to split time with, UVA transfer, Billy Schweitzer. Trinity went undefeated again.

The best player will win the job. I'm not worried at all about hurt feelings impacting the winning culture at Trinity. It's the same reason recruits commit fully knowing they may not even get a roster spot. Nothing is promised, not even for a 5th year senior. The players know it and accept it. If you want to get on the field then be the best.

Didn't Trinity bring in a D1 transfer QB last year also? Kid from West Virginia I believe.

All good comments 9-0 and I get it.  But don't think Pitcher rode the pine for 4 years, then signed up for 5th year in that scenario.
I'm just interested in how this will play out.

I think Wesleyan has a very interesting and deep recruiting class. Will be fun to watch how it matches up vs. other schools as they release more info this week.

With 31 incoming players, this is the biggest recruiting class that I can recall from Wes. The most interesting newcomer is graduate transfer defensive back Nick Donatio who was a solid contributor for Colby the past two years and earned All NESCAC honors in 2022. He played in 16 games for the Mules recording 114 total tackles, 10 pass breakups and three interceptions.

It's also interesting that Wesleyan brings in just two players from Connecticut, both played at powerhouse Choate. The Cards have drifted toward the Tufts model of bringing in more kids outside of New England in recent years but it's still surprising to only have two in-state recruits out of a class of 31.

I'm sure Nescacman will be happy to see five players coming to Middletown from the Garden State. Also noteworthy to have TEN players hailing from NY. Similar to Trinity, Wes has a small QB class incoming with just two.

Adam Chicoine is the common denominator here with Donatio who is a fine player. Believe Chicoine has recruited Donatio twice. First to Colby and now to Wesleyan.
