Well hopefully that is the end of that tantrum considering you got to have the last post on this board for the last month...

Anyway, I was told recently by a friend that the ARC had recently put out a central site to watch all sporting events. I didn't remember ever seeing anything ever said about this but it is on their website and they actually have it on the roku store as an app. It's a little rough around the edges but it is nice that you can just watch these things on your TV by just going into the app. It also appears you can go back and watch old games as well. Does anyone know when this first came out?

If anyone is interested I linked it below:

That simplifies things.  I've enjoyed having one game on my tv and another two going on my computer in the past.  This setup will be much easier to navigate.

Loras President Jim Collins will retire next May.  Longest serving president in Loras history.  Mirrors UD President Bullock who just retired and was their longest serving president.

I know some other boards do a weekly pick'em each week for their conference's games. Would anyone on this board be interested in something like this? I think it would be fun and would be willing to keep track of the records.

Count me in.  Getting excited for the season!

Count me in, and I vote for Driftless to run it! 😄

I am in for the pick-ems. Sounds like something I miss.

Glad some people are interested! Personally I am partial to picking games with a spread (provided by HansenRatings) due to the high number of blow outs. I feel that this adds a little more fun to the picks. If anyone has strong opinions about not doing it this way I am open to suggestions.

It might keep everyone from all picking the same way if a spread was included.

I have been running a pick-em (without spreads) on my home board for several years and I guarantee that this would be a problem, especially if you have one or two clearly superior teams at the top. At this point I have all but convinced myself to make the switch this season, but I'm going to sound out my regulars first.
Good luck with yours, it can be a lot of fun.

Spread or no spread I will be picking Central to win every one of their games and Simpson to lose everyone of theirs. And, spread or no spread, all of the others will depend on a coin flip.

I think I will be using the spread method for the pick-ems to add more variety to the picks. I believe it will also add a bit more drama and intrigue to some of the blowouts that tend to happen in conference. Would people prefer we revive the old IIAC pick-em board or should I post the lines here on this board?

On another note, I attended Loras' scrimmage last Saturday and it feels great that we are so close to football. The Duhawks took on UW-Stevens Point and it seemed like a very even fight. I am not sure how much the UWSP starters played as I know lots of WIAC teams use these scrimmages to figure out who is going to make their roster for the season. UWSP has been in a tough spot the last few years in the basement of the WIAC but any time you feel like you can go toe to toe with a WIAC opponent it feels like you are doing something right. I can't wait for real football!

I have kids at UD and can't get any info from them other than the players like the new coach, only a couple players left from last season, and a few that had transferred away have come back.  Anxious to see how the season plays out.

I can tell you they did a combined practice with UW-W yesterday and I thought they acquitted themselves pretty well.
