Hello fellas and hoping you and your loved ones all are doing well. I am really looking forward to football season. For the first time in many, many years I am pretty much in the dark regarding my beloved Union Garnet. Just hoping for the best with yet another new coach.

I am really looking forward to watching some great MIAC football this season as well. Very excited about what Bethel is returning, especially a healthy Geebli after that awful injury last season. Like previously said the QB position is worrisome. Sometimes when that is the case something really special comes out of it. Hoping for that here.

Honestly first time in a number of years I can't tell you who their top 5 offense players and top 5 defensive players might be.

I'm on my way to the MCG to watch Hawthorn take on Carlton. There are three rounds left in the regular season but this is like the first final. The winner of this match is almost certainly into the finals, the loser is almost certainly out.

Over 80,000 are expected and if that happens, then it will be Hawthorn's third game this year in front of more than 80k, one of which had over 92k.

Him's nervous.

A cracking game in front of 84k saw the Hawks smash the Blues so badly that we're in the top eight and ready for finals.  Two rounds left.

New MIAC Football and Basketball scheduling cliff notes:

2025-26 Football: seven regular season conference games plus 1 vs. 2 championship game for NCAA Automatic Bid (and then 3 vs. 4, 5 vs. 6, etc.)

2027 and beyond Football: traditional round-robin, everyone plays everyone. No championship week. One non-conference game.

2024-25 Basketball: Four-year trial of a new scheduling structure. "Round-and-a-half" conference schedule (16 games for men, 18 for women). Stated differently, no more traditional round-robin. Men's and Women's games will be played together as a double header. Men play the first game of the DH for the first half of the season, then flip where the women will play the first of the DH in the second half of the season.

Other news and notes:

Playoff Adjustments: All playoff contests will be cashless in 2024-25 with admission conducted through HomeTown Ticketing. HomeTown Ticketing has a "HomeTown Fan" app available for download on mobile devices.

Football Travel Roster: Visiting team travel rosters will expand to 75. Host institutions are required to communicate facility constraints.

One last note that I discovered from reviewing the revised rules:

3.4.6  KICKING NET. Home team provide the visiting team a kicking net on game day. (added 5/2024)

I feel like John Gagliardi would be spinning in his grave over this one.

Not a fan of only one non-conference game, at all. Ideally, I think Carleton was going to be in a situation where they played a east coast and west coast team every year, alternating homes and aways. Which would've been cool to see.

Also do not like the cashless move. Everything is requiring me to download an app now. Shoot, there's at least 3-5 apps I have to use at work.
