Well, that's the most depressing real estate listing I've ever seen.

How much are they asking for it? I figure it would take at least $150 million to start a new college with a decent endowment if some billionaire was interested in a namesake legacy, probably could x that figure by 2 or 3.  I doubt the Alabama A&M offer will be outbid by anybody though and it seems like a good plan for everyone but miles college

Alabama A&M already dropped out. Miles is still involved. Not sure how it will end up. But the longer it goes, the more repair problems will crop up and need to be fixed.

Here's the listing if you're interested and have many tens of millions sitting around.

Just about three weeks out from the start of season means I think it's time to look at the Week 1 match-ups.

We have:

Belhaven at Millsaps (Sept 5th)
Centre at Hanover
Sewanee at Maryville
Berry at Huntingdon
Hendrix at Centenary
McMurry at Southwestern
WashU at Rhodes
Texas Lutheran at Trinity

Looking forward to see the Purple and White come out strong on our trip to Maryville. Time to see if Coach Mac can start building a winning tradition on The Mountain.

Am interested in seeing what the first games look like for Berry and Trinity. Huntingdon and TLU are good opening opponents for those teams.

Is your QB returning from last year?  That kid was a monster on the field.  One of our few wins last season, and the only time our offense showed up, otherwise, you guys would have won walking away.  I'll miss my trips to Sewanee, what a beautiful campus.  Also, last season was family day on the mountain, and even though many of those people had no idea there was a football going on, the tailgating was the best I had ever seen in D3.

Both Young and Thomas are back this year and we have two more kids on the depth chart at QB.

The tailgating scene on our campus has gotten better in recent years.

Doesn't look like Trinity has posted their freshman/transfers on the 2024 Roster that is currently up on the website. Excel comparison of the 2023 v. 2024 roster shows we lost 16 fifth years (jeeze), 13 seniors, 6 juniors, 4 sophomores, and 10 freshman, for a total turnover of 49. Insane amount of experience lost. A surprising absence on the 2024 roster is BJ Stewart, who was only a junior last year. I know he battled injuries last year, so maybe he decided to call it quits and focus on track. Huge loss if so. Carter Self is also not listed, which is disappointing. Really hoping Urban was able to reload with some transfers that have experience. 2024 Roster lists 12 fifth years and 11 seniors - most of which are on Defensive side. If Self is gone, the only returning receiver that had over 100 yards last year is BJ Rainey. We do return all of our top RBs, and 4 All-SAA OL, which helps.

Dang, I hadn't even thought about dusting off the roster comparison tool I wrote last year... Just ran it and the only difference it shows is that there are 7 Jrs who left.

Went ahead and ran the tool against all of the teams and uploaded them to google docs if anyone wants to look:

Looks like Millsaps has the biggest incoming class so far with 67.  The comparison of "new" players isn't perfect as it only looks back 1 year to see if they were on the roster... Maybe one day I'll fix it...

Thanks, Etchglow!  I'm pretty surprised how relatively small the Trinity roster is.

They don't have anyone from the incoming freshman class posted on their roster yet.  So take that # with a large grain of salt.  Average incoming freshman class from the other SAA schools is ~45.  With that, they'd be 2nd largest roster behind Berry and Centre.

Ron Boerger

Trinity announced their incoming class some time ago - 36 (assuming all report this week).   Urban has never recruited large classes compared to many schools at this level.

Quote from: Ron Boerger on May 01, 2024, 03:35:13 PMTrinity has posted their incoming class on Xitter and other social media:

OL: 6
WR: 5
TE: 5
RB: 2
QB: 2

DL: 5
LB: 2
DB: 6

K: 2
LS: 1

Total: 36 (was 35, missed the LS), a typical class size in the Urban era.

According to a post in the Trinity parents & supporters (PAWS) group, Trinity will scrimmage Blinn College at 7PM August 29th in San Antonio.

Berry is a narrow favorite to win the SAA in the conference's pre-season poll:

2024 FB PRESEASON POLL RESULTS
1. Berry - 47 (5)
2. Trinity - 45 (3)
3. Centre - 36
4. Rhodes - 31
5. Hendrix - 25
6. Sewanee - 18
7. Southwestern - 15
8. Millsaps – 7
