Quote from: lumbercat on August 14, 2024, 06:46:05 PMIt's possible that Colby could start a FY at QB this year.

He would be the first FY starter since Justin Ciero and Nick Kmetz. Two great QBs with enigmatic histories on Mayflower Hill. Ciero disappeared after his Sophomore year with no explanation that we've ever seen. As for Kmetz he was a great QB but I won't elaborate beyond that.

How many years ago did Ciero and Kmetz play?

From memory, the scandal was in 2011 so Kmetz played 2008-2011 seasons.
Ciero played 2012 and 2013 before his disappearance.

Amherst over Bates (14-7)

Trinity over Colby (42-7)

Williams over Hamilton (28-17)

Bowdoin over Tufts (21-14)

Middlebury over Wesleyan (28-10)

First post on the Boards. I agree with mostly everything here. I think Wes plays Midd closer than that but agree that they don't win. Not sure about Bowdoin, though, seems unlikely that they win. As for Williams, I see them winning against Hamilton and am curious to see how their punting game looks like season. They lost their senior punter from last season who was great at drawing penalties because of his slow-appearing motion then quick leg swing to create fast exit velocity. The nuances of his game were honestly special for those who cared for that aspect of the game. Regardless, I see them taking care of Hamilton. Trinity and Amherst are basically locks.

What a yapathon, but yes I heard the kid was a big presence in the locker room too, should be interesting to see how the ephs adjust on special teams.

This is really magical stuff here. Let's keep it real folks. Kid had most punts blocked in league the last two years and more ticks than a deer in his punting delivery. Midd , Hamilton and Jumbos had actual weapons on ST and coverage teams.

Off topic did anyone happen to get the new Madden College football I heard NESCAC teams are in this naturally the rosters have not been updated but if this is true I think that is awesome for the players and the league.

Quote from: nescac1 on August 14, 2024, 10:06:03 PMI gotta say I don't love the odds of a QB playing his first college game against a Trinity D smelling blood keeping it close.  That's a pretty tough ask even though Colby returns some solid skill guys.

At the Coop....?    I'd have to deem that; Unwatchable.

People made nescac rosters that can be downloaded but they are not made by ncaa25 people so the ratings are completely up to those who made the roster.

I don't think this was accurate. Not hearing of any changes.

Hear that a new defensive coach in works, possibly DBs

Congratulations and good luck to all of the Nescac Football players, coaches and support staff. They report tomorrow for another great season of football.
No matter how we feel about individual programs or coaches, I think that we can all agree that the players deserve an amazing amount of respect for playing at high level programs at academic institutions that are extremely hard to attend. Go hammer it and enjoy the journey boys!

Trin9-0

I'm a sucker for vintage NESCAC football, so was thrilled to stumble across this mid-'50s promotional video produced for Trinity. It includes, at about the 9:12 mark, some gorgeous COLOR game footage from the 1955 Trinity-Wesleyan game.

The Bantams won that day 46-6 to cap a second consecutive undefeated season. Check out the size of the crowd! I'm guessing there had to be around 10K spectators.
