This is why so many D3 schools have football, to boost enrollment.  That's 200+ kids that are enrolled at HSU that would not have without the possibility of playing football.  BSC made a push their last couple years with larger freshman classes on the team, it was just way too late to help us stay open.

Curious about 1 name on the list. Harrison Foster. Harrison was a student of mine his senior year of high school. He's big (6' 3") and fast. was  hurdler in HS. placed 5th his senior year in the state meet with a sub 40 300 hurdle run. He went to ACU but was recruited by UMHB in high school. ACU is a family school. If he's playing safety, that's a wall to throw over. tall and can jump.  all of his buddies went to ACU, so might have stayed in Abilene to be close to his friend group and close to home. Can't wait to see him on the field.

only 1 scrimmage this year. The 31st is a varsity intersquad scrimmage at 7pm.

Hardin-Simmons is narrowly predicted to win the ASC in its preseason poll, followed closely by UMHB.   HPU and ETBU bring up the rear (distantly).
