Johnnies have some skilled players on offense...defense is still an unknown. Carthage didn't look very talented on offense. If the Johnnies play D next week like they did to start the third quarter today Wartburg will have us for lunch.

Nice way to ease into the season for the Jays. I expected at least a little bit more from Carthage.

Not sure if there was much to learn about SJU from this opener. Lots of RBs to sort through. Not a bad thing.

Would not be surprised if NCC puts up another 70 on the Firebirds in a couple weeks.

It appears all we got with the increased price on streaming were larger screen rodents.

At one point Monmouth had a 10-7 lead, but trails #4 Wartburg, 21-10 at the half. We'll see if Monmouth continues to put up a fight or if Wartburg pulls away in the second.

I know that Whitworth was a playoff team last year but GAC didn't rise to the occasion today. Seven turnovers in 40-7 loss. I really thought they'd give them a better game.

Agreed. That performance by GAC was really disappointing.

Monmouth scored a touchdown early in the 3rd quarter to pull within 21-17 & just missed a field goal attempt off of the upright that would've brought them within one. Wartburg's getting tested thus far!

Wartburg looks really tough. Mistakes against them will have consequences.

The competitive portion of the game may now be over. Wartburg just went up 35-17 early in the 4th. I really hope we're ready! A win against them would  be great for our resume since Bethel will likely be the only other test.

Yes he is! 380's a lot of weight! Scrolled through their roster & they have a RB listed at 6'6" & a female kicker! Some interesting heights/weights throughout it!

So Alma, Wheaton, and Trinity (TX) all lose above the Johnnies in this weekend's play. Are they a shoe-in for a top ten spot in the poll? And will River Falls be above or below them in the poll? Any thoughts before the top 25 poll is released?

Good question. Alma lost by 6 to River Falls so one thinks they don't drop as much. Johnnies should definitely jump Wheaton and Trinity.

Does Bethel pop into Top 25 without having played a game yet?
