We might legitimately score 100 points by HT

Has BJ Ferrell played a single snap this season? Can't imagine a former 4-star not cracking a D3 rotation.

Yes he is playing and should be starting but is currently backup for #44 Trey Belyeu - Witcher, not sure why.

I counted 40 in pregame.

Ya, they're all 260-300 from what the roster said.

Do you guys even play the second half???  This is ridiculous, and this is from a South Alabama alum and we score 87 on Thursday.

I see why the last WGU game was called due to lack of Sportsmanship. There was a nonsense cheap shot by a WGU player who actively avoided trying to bring down a runner so he could unload on a blocker who was running side by side with him. This was an Antonio Brown choosing to run into the punter level of disregard (though he obviously did not kick the guy in the face). I don't really know if you can call that a penalty based on something in the rulebook, but it was dirty.

The next drive featured three personal fouls by UMHB.

I genuinely worry for the safety of WGU's kickers and punters because they cannot block those plays, at all, and they have been laid out a few times.

I would hope the teams do something in the second half of this game. 10-minute quarters. Running clock. Both.

BSCpanthers

71-6 before halftime.  I hope everyone with a helmet on the UMHB sideline has been on the field.

I'm not even sure 10 minutes with a running clock is enough to get this game over quick enough.

It's such a mismatch it's absurd. The WGU players have no business being on that field. Eventually one of them is going to snap and someone is going to get hurt. The other ASC teams need to downgrade this to a JV scrimmage and not do it as a game. Run 10 offensive plays and switch or something. 50 plays total each.

Because this is not a game and there is no point in pretending it should be one.

What undersells this is it's pretty obvious that UMHB could be up by more, because pretty much every run up the middle is a huge gainer, and they're clearly trying a few other things on offense. And the defense/ST has extended a few WGU drives with penalties.

2/3 of the quarterbacks UMHB has played never played a preseason snap. Granted, I'm pretty sure that the two that did play as 2nd and 3rd string are hurt...

Speaking of, am I seeing thing or is Gacayan wearing a sling?

CNU85

Take away that TD pass by WG and they have 35 yards passing and minus 35 yards rushing.

I saw this on X — so take it for what it's worth — but WGU has a total of 85 students enrolled, and a 54-man roster.

Yeah makes sense. It wasn't a criticism. I actually think UMHB is doing a pretty admirable job here keeping this thing in line from a play-calling perspective.

But yes, like jknezek said, really, these players don't have any business being on that field given the obvious physical disparities between these teams.

CowboyAlum261

I won't cast any aspersions on UMHB for scheduling this game—it's so hard to get 10 games as any Texas D3 team and it's been near impossible for UMHB and HSU in recent years. But this is a sad state of affairs. If this is what the future of our programs in D3 looks like I think it would be wrong not to seriously consider leaving D3.

I've honestly wondered this myself. How is this a viable path forward for UMHB?

With so many colleges feeling the financial pinch, I just can't see many of them willingly traveling hundreds (or thousands) of miles.
