Muskie with Ott and Wilma the next two weeks, can they avoid looking ahead to a rare 3-0 start and handle business against the lowest tier of the OAC?

Dr. Acula

If they lose to Ott that would be an epic let down.  I watched a little of the Ott/OWU game.  They're as bad as you remember.

Dr. Acula

Musky up 24-0 in the 2nd quarter.

Well it is Streak Week! The JCU Mount game is the season for this team IMH(yet not so H)O. The first test for the new QB. I saw a comment mention Big #7 as a comparison for Noah and I think its possible BUT he has a ways to go. This QB is special - and I thought he should have been the starter last year but he sat that one out - but he had some underthrows week 1. A great ESPN Top 10 catch - but if he puts his BIG #7 on that ball is on target, 6 points, and not an ESPN moment. Roll Raiders!

Have to think Candle will be on the shortlist for the Florida Gators. Curious if VK would go, or step into Toledo HC role.

I had not thought about that - but it is an excellent point. Candle is a class act all the way and I have nothing but respect for the way he runs that program. I had a personal encounter with him at Mount that really impressed me. His team was the better team - better coached, better disciplined, better prepared - and i guarantee they handle themselves in the class room as well. VK could run the Rocket program and I have no doubt Toledo would offer it. They have had sone real good fortune with Mount coaches.

Almost forgot - I want to nominate the ESpnu crew that did the Toledo MSU game for the "Holly Rowe worst game call" award. They made so many excuses for MSU getting blown out but the worst was saying "this is no a MACtion crowd, 13 degrees in front of 170 people". Eat it! Roll MAC!

I think we're getting a tad carried away.  Candle on the short list for FLORIDA?  Beaudrie one of the greatest  Mount Union quarterbacks of ALL TIME?  Maybe marijuana should NOT been legalized in O-H-I-O.  (Just sayin'.)

Isn't a HC at D1 the reason VK left Mount? Why would he follow someone else to another school? Was never a VK supporter but I hope he gets a shot at a D1 HC when it comes.

I was slightly skeptical of VK when promoted to Mount HC, but I was wrong.  He has proven at Mount and Toledo that he can coach.  Toledo was nearly always lacking on the defensive side of the ball and he's changed that.  He's done a very good job up there and I think we all appreciate what he did in Alliance a little more now.

D3fanboy

the big boys will come calling for Matt Campbell once again and Jason Candle will be a hot, hot name if the Rockets handle their business and avoid the MACtion type upset.  Toledo will likely be favored in every game for the rest of the season.  An undefeated UT would have a very good shot at the CFP, which would lead to major job opportunities.

But there are far more pressing issues this week gentlemen.  Mount needs to give JCU a nice farewell gift.  I'd love for Dartt to have the boys ready to go at the kick, there's a first time for everything right?

I think the Raiders will be ready for this last JCU game. Will the score be close to the UWW- JCU game, not sure? JCU has a new QB and he was ineffective against UWW. These games are usually close, but the difference could be a dual threat Mount QB. ;D

Indeed.  It's Streak week!  Sadly for possibly the last time for a while (ever?).  I will really miss this rivalry.   It has a special place in my heart starting with the thriller at Bedford HS as a student where I was in the stands certain Mount couldn't pull off the last minute comeback.  They did.  Of course.  We can dislike our rivals and not respect them (Flaming pile) or you can dislike them while appreciating they're a worthy rival.  JCU has been a worthy rival for years and it will be sorely missed.  I hope Mount comes out with the intensity that this finale deserves.
