Beaudrie runs like a running back and I love that mentality, but he hopefully backs that down a little knowing they need him back there healthy.  Going out of bounds a couple yards earlier or sliding isn't the worst idea a lot of the time.  There's a time and place to run like he does.  Maybe just not every carry!

FWIW he's 5th in the OAC at 88 yds/gm rushing so he's a pretty good RB too.

with BW having their cameras on the moon, the Mount highlights give you a little closer view.  Around the 2:00 min mark is Beaudrie having one hell of a play

Yes ... A good watch.

Can we say, with some slight angle to it, that young Bubonics was regularly introduced to "his Father's Oldsmobile?"   8-)

I was at the game Saturday. Still a long way to go, but Beaudrie is a bad mamma jamma. As he continues to get better throwing the ball and gels with the WR's, he is going to be a handful for any defense in D3.

Ridiculous athleticism.

I think the BW camera was one of those automated cameras that follows the action.

Ed drives an Oldsmobile? I thought they stopped making those 20 years ago?

I'm excited to watch Beaudrie develop.  His timing with his WR's is only going to improve each week the more they practice and play together.  Other than Taurice I think Beaudrie is the best athlete/runner they've had at QB in quite a while.  That's such a weapon not only in play calling options, but also in buying time to throw or turning a potential sack into some positive yardage.

I did not get to watch the game, but I did like the highlights.
My takes based on highlights and stats.

A)  Rossy Moore + Kaleb Brown = Sacks + (Von Factor) = TFL ... Great Job by the D.  This will allow more players in coverage, and help to prevent big plays.  A D line that can put pressure on teams like Cortland and North Central that have mobile QB's with out blitzing will be key.

B)  Run game = control.  Great job calling plays.  I like the mix of pass and run.  I like the change of pace backs.  They used Darnell to get the ball wide and used him on draw plays...perfect.  I saw positive improvement this week.  The O-line seems to be athletic and strong.  WR are blocking, and the #11 tightend looks like a player.  Let's bring back the old Y screen with that kid.

C)  Missed kicks = nope!!!  Great work

Final Thoughts:

They looked good.  They looked dominant.  A lot of 4th down conversions in this one.  I think they way the game is today, is hard.  It's hard enough to get a stop on 3rd, but again on fourth.  3-13 on 3rd down, 4-6 on 4th.  All in all, great game on the road against a good and talented team.  Also, #15 seems to be quite an athlete as well.  Maybe a little wild cat, with him and Beaudrie back there.

I'd be happy with a dline that puts pressure on our 2nd round playoff opponents QB let alone Cortland or NCC!

they did...in the first 3 quarters.

That 4th quarter collapse against Alma (up two scores with 5 mins left) looks worse and worse each week.  But hey, we were saving our exciting plays for later on. Run-middle (with 165 lb back), WR screen, run-middle, run-middle...hopefully it was just an embarrassing lesson learned.

Alma, and JCU this year have given a blueprint against the Raiders defense.  Get the ball out quick to the outside and Rossy, Kaleb and Von are negated a bit. Secondary tackling will be very, very important for the Raiders.  Plenty of time to improve with experience and getting healthy

Could not have said it better myself.  The blueprint is there, but hopefully we now have a slate of several games to build skill and gain experience; that includes players and coaches.  The scheduling gods did the Raiders no favors this fall with JCU and BW up right away - and then threw in some apparent injuries early on.  In complete fairness, the team acquitted themselves well all things considered.  If the BW game is the new normal and the new "Standard," they will be fine.  If the JCU game is the new standard, then I expect myself and several more fans to be lobbing verbal darts and Dartt in an endless cycle.  But, as you said, hopefully it was a (very long overdue and embarrassing) lesson learned last year.

Dr. Acula

Ideally they would have maybe seen JCU/BW a few weeks later to let the new faces play together and get some more experience.  But I guess this is good also in that it gives them an assessment early with plenty of time and an accommodating schedule to coach them up and make adjustments the next few weeks.  Then they get Etta later for another good test to see how they've progressed.

True.  The Pios have had some great defenses as of late.  I'll be curious to see how they (Marietta) fare against BW and the Streaks before the trek north on I-77.

D3fanboy

I would think that there is a very good chance of Marietta @ Mount being a November matchup of undefeated, ranked teams, where the winner is all but guaranteed a playoff spot.  A statement that would have gotten you thrown in the loony bin not all that long ago.  Kudos to the coaches and players down on the river

Quite possibly.  Last year the Pios gave the Streaks all they could handle.  As I like to say, they didn't lose, they just ran out of time.
